I know I haven't written much here and for that I appologise.  In a sense the muse packed up her things and left.  I guess she came back for a bit.

This bit.

Online Dating and my experiences with it.

Ever see Boondocks?  Grandpa Freeman keeps trying to meet gals on Myspace.  I have made online pals with gals from myspace but never got a date from one.  Of course ol Grandpa gets crazy gals.  Opps.

There is a site called Okcupid I use.  I even wrote blogs there alough they call them journals.  Met at least one gal there, physically, she didn't like my artwork none it seemed or it was me.  That site is goofy.  Learned a new word though.

Cougars.

A cougar is an old gal looking for young guys or at least younger than her.  This doesn't bug me unless she is a really old gal.  Eeep!!!

Plenty of Fish is another site I used.  I actually met several gals there, physically, but a problem with them is most of the women are the same but with different bodies.  Yawn!

I don't know what problems women or other men have with dating sites.  My big problem is I can't seem to find gals I want who want me back but I am not sure why.  Another thing is some women seem mildly interested but not deeply.  It is like I am an afterthought and it is hard to explain beyond that.

Well, the future of robot women is coming.  I guess I should be patent.

Well I haven't posted here in forever.  Hope no one got upset.  I hadn't felt like writing anything.
Stopped trying to find a woman, again, I feel like the Coyote trying to catch the Roadrunner.
I really am into black women lately.  Well not lately, I always liked black women.  They seem underrepresented online though.  I also like asians and latinas but everyone who knows me well knows this.  Asians are even more underrepresented online.  I have no idea why.
I am really into the Half Life Game series and Portal.  Thay are one of my "happy things" of a series of "happy things" defined as things that make me joyful.
What is it with old lady porn?  I saw some on youporn once,  ewww!!!!!
I Got the Complete Galaxy Rangers DVD box sets!  JOY!!!  Unfortunately Koch Entertainment mastered them really badly but they are more or less ok and I loved that show back in college.  I also got the Batman Animated DVDs and Boondocks Season 2.
I wonder if Boondocks was what got me on the black women kick again?  Probably not.
Thats about all thats going on so far.
Be seein ya!

Are you a misfit? Are you different than most people of your age and sex? Are you totally different from most people generally? Are you a quirky person? Do you have odd interests or interests that are more extreme than most? Do you dress oddly? Believe it or not you are probably better than most people but you may not realize it because being a misfit hurts sometime.

Perhaps you wear hawaiian shirts all the time? MAybe your home is full or robots you built? Maybe you collect odd toys? Maybe you collect sex toys from the 1020s. Maybe you build them? Maybe you love victorian dresses including corsets and love wearing old style clothing and costumes? Maybe you hate clothing and prefer to be nude all the time when you can. Maybe you love sex and sexual things? Maybe you are someone who spends time investigating ghosts? Maybe you are a witch which has become a bit mainstream lately but many still consider it odd? Maybe you are a scientist with odd theories? Maybe you are an artist going in your own direction? Maybe you act or dress like the other sex? Maybe, for you, the most arousing thing is to dress like a humanoid cat? Maybe you like doing weird magic tricks with science? Maybe you have some condition like aspergers where you are different by your very nature but brilliantly smart if a bit off? Maybe there is something else?

Why is this special though? Think about it, a person who fits in never usually wants to change anything but a misfit? They want a change to suit them, to make the world accept them. Those who bring new things into the world in art, science, thought, style, etc were all misfits.

Most entertainers, if you read their biographies, were misfits. Ben Franklin was a very odd man and was believed to have aspergers and used to do odd magic tricks with science and play chess with a naked lady in a bathtub! Einstein had sets of identical clothing so he wouldn't need to think about it. Most artists are oddballs as are most musicians, especially the most creative ones. Don't get me started on comedians. Inventors and explorers have always been odd ducks. Anyone who does anything involving sex for a living of course is also a misfit.

Misfits change the world! Bill gates was a geeky hacker. I already mentioned Ben. Did you know Steven Spielberg has Aspergers? He admitted it. Nicola Testla invented Alternating current and he was very odd. Edison was an odd man too.

Sadly people don't accept oddballs easily. Many of us are alone with our interests, dreams, and behaviors but we wish we could be with others like us in our differences. This is why
X-men, Harry Potter, The Church Of the Subgenius, CLive Barker Novels like Cabal aka Nightbreed, and the island of misfit toys resonate with the misfit. They represent places where we are accepted for being different and in those places those odd differences are treasured.

In stories such as Cabal or in the X-men isn't it cool to be a monster or a mutant? Vampires are not evil except from a human's point of view and nightcrawler looks like a demon but is a charming man even if he is blue and teleports. Then there is the movie by Tod Browning called Freaks. In this movie you get to meet the freaks in a freak show and dispite their mosterousness and differences and odd behavior they are happy and loving amongst themselves and the few Humans who love them but the outsiders, normal humans don't see any beauty in them and one of them tries to trick one of them because he is rich but the freaks get revenge. Thats a very simple outline but go see the movie.

Anyway, are you a misfit? You may be odd but you might change the world.

Sorry I haven't written one of these things in a while.  I actually have fooled around using blogs on a dating site.  Funny thing about that is it doesn't seem to work well.  I have no idea how to attract and keep a woman in Massachusetts.  Wish someone would tell me what I am doing wrong.  Heck, even my therapist has no idea.

I was enjoying Kayaking a great deal but then it got cold.  First the water got lethally cold and now the air is cold.  I guess this is it for the winter.  I plan on buying one though.

My computer needs repairs again.  A stupid heat sink fan on my graphics card loves to make noise and a muffin fan in a back vent needs nudging to start up.  The muffin fan is not a problem, the heat sink may be.  Stupid computer!!

Someone on a dating site said I talk about sex too much.  at the same time they advise me to be myself.  Guess what?  I LOVE talking about sex!!  IS it the scorpio in me?  Ah I am just such a misfit.

Did you know the computer was almost invented in 1840?  A guy Named Charles Babbage tried to build a machine to compute tables using differences but the project ran out of funds. This was known as the Difference Engine.  He later designed The Analitical Engine which was similar to a modern computer except all mechanical.  It was believed that he couldn't build it because the tollerances of parts and materials were not up to the task but. in the 1980s a museum in  the UK built, using tollerances from the 1840s, Babbage's differnce Engine design number 2 to prove it could have been done.  Worked perfectly.

I own too many books!

Trying to make a pirate costume for halloween.

I miss sex.

Thats about all thats going on.

I haven't written anything recently as you probably all noticed.  I got bored writing blogs a bit and couldn't think of much to say lately.

Been Kayaking on the Charles river in Massachusetts with a friend which is a lot of fun and got to see a lot of ducks and geese and other birds and it is very relaxing.  Unfortunately I seem to be allergic to something in the water so my skin itches.  Going to an allergist about that.

Gave up on dating, Really gave up!!!  I stopped looking!  Going out amongst people or looking online, it just isn't working and it just isn't going to happen, sad really, wish it wasn't the case but women don't seem interested in me romantically or they hide it or send signals I am unable to pick up.  Oh well....

Considering taking chinese although I am not sure how to use mandarin as all the chinese people here use cantonese.  Most chinese courses are mandarin but the people here all speak cantonese as they are from hong kong or macao.

I probably should perfect my Japanese first and increase my vocabulary so I don't sound like a fluent 5 year old before taking on another language.

I find myself feeling sad and missing the past a lot.  I miss living in Japan.

I am trying to start a cartooning group locally and maybe make dojinshi or something but the guys from my cartooning class are too busy and I have no experience setting up a club or group like this.

Thats basically whats going on with me.

Sorry my readers for being absent.  I hadn't much to say.  Probably don't have much new to say as it is but I thought you might wish to hear from your ol' pal.

Been drawing ALOT.  Like 5 hours a day!  I am trying to get myself up to speed and I am although trying to draw like Frank Frazetta is REALLY FREAKIN HARD!!  Good practice though.  I am also doing John Kricfalusi's 100K animation course which can be found here....

http://www.animationarchive.org/2006/05/meta-100000-animation-drawing-course.html

Drawing like Preston Blair is difficult too but for different reasons.

Oddly I draw like John Byrne pretty well!  Him and Adam Warren and Chuck Austen.

Was leaving blogish posts on a dating site called Okcupid.com.  The conclusions I got is I am weird apparently relative to most men, some in good ways, some in bad ways.  Either way I don't seem to be going to have a girlfriend or even just sex anytime soon.  Too bad for ol' Lordsifl.

Read all the Conan Stories written By Robert E. Howard.  Conan fights a lot of really freakin huge ass snakes.  There is a snake somewhere in almost every story, in fact there are more snakes than half naked gals.  Did Robert have a snake fetish?  Ol' Robert didn't seem to like Black folk too much either but then neither did the Tarzan guy, you know, Mr. Burroughs.  guess it is due to it being the 1930s?  Though to Roberts creadit he didn't seem to really really dislike all of them.  Anyways, dispite lacking a certain fondness for a dark hue on human skin, Robert's Conan is still fun to read.

Read up some more on the Technological Singularity. Specifically a book called The Singularity Is Near by Ray Kurzweil.  I wrote on this before but I am amazed at the tech we already have at the experimental stage including artificial blood cells and computer chips that use almost no energy and emit almost no heat!!!  Also we got nanotech fuel cells and all sorts of things about to pop up any minute!!  Go read the damn book!!!  NOW!!!!  LOL!!!

Speaking of books, I have been rereading Al Capp's Lil Abner.  For those of you who don't know.  Once upon a time Lil Abner was the most poipular comic strip of all time drawn by a horny one legged jew in Massachusetts named Al Capp.  All about hillbillies in dogpatch, specifically the handsome and increadibly stupid Lil Abner and the gorgeous and equally dumb Dasie May who loves the lout.  They got married eventually and there were 2 movies and a broadway play based on it,  Just go look it up on wikipedia.  The point though is Al capp could draw really well!!  Especially pretty girls!!!!  Lots of pretty girls!!!

Well, Thats all I got to say right now!  be sure to write a comment or 3

see ya!!!

I may have written about this once before but I was watching Tron yesterday and it got me thinking...

A virtual world is a non-material enviroment with a set of rules defining it and things in it.  Oddly, by this definition, dreams, board games. Tabletop RPGs and story worlds are virtual as are no doubt realms of mathmatics though this article is on computer based virtual worlds.

The computer virtual world evolved from simulations and computer games though the world of an asteroids game is very simple compaired to the World Of Warcraft but both are defined by a database of objects and rules for how they can interact.

Since most virtual worlds these days are roleplaying games or some similar concept both computer gaming terms and roleplaying terms can be used to describe them.

Avatar and player are terms used to describe an object controlled by an external user, either a human or a program, as opposed to an object controlled by the programs maintaining the world.  These objects are almost always characters as opposed to inanimate objects.

An NPC is an object controlled by the world programs and are built into the world.  NPC stands for non player character and it is a term from roleplaying games.  Depending on the world it is possible that the NPC is aware of the world outside itself such as the nethack email demon.  NPCs by nature are characters.

Everything else in the world is an object or boundary of some kind and there are rules that define how everything interacts.  Sometimes the players can modify these rules and sometimes they can't or sometimes only special players can modify the rules like administrators, the people who oversee the programs running the world, in RPG terms the programs and the admins are refered to as gamemasters.

Then we have the interface.  The ideal interface would be like the matrix but at best we have visual and auditory and tactile feedback so far.  The Early games were overhead views and more recently we have windowlike views as if looking out oin the world through the eyes of the character.  In the simplest games like pacman to the most advanced MMORPG like Warcraft the suspension of disbelief and the immersive effects of imagination has filled in the missing sensory info or you simply don't care about the missing info.  This is why a game like Ultima is playable even if you are only looking at characters overhead and they are very simplistic looking and why Diablo is such a hit.

You can use virtual worlds for other things than games. Second Life is more of a simulated world than a game though one is similar to the other but Second Life has no purpose except what the players want and has no set goals.  Then we have fictional Cyberspace.

Cyberspace is a virtual world modeling a network and users would move around in it and computers might look like castles or cubes or whatever and users might look like anything.  Programs might look like dragons or damsels or weird things or whatever and you would have logical virtual enviroments with no hardware representation like rooms and doors to flesh things out or to create barrier mazes, etc.  Your desktop is like this in 2D.  Think of folders as rooms, files as objects, and active programs as critters and you get the cyberspace idea with one system.  Cyberspace, in fiction, is several systems and a virtual relaity program to access one of many overlayed virtual representations of the networks.

Of course we have the web, not cyberspace at all.  The web works basically as ultrafast mail as computers forward data packets back and forth.  A virtual version of the internet would be interesting but would anyone want to use it?  It would be like getting in the Tron world.  On the other hand the Internet and user usage of it might improve this way.  Look up a story by Vernor Vinge called True Names to get an idea what this might be like.

So who would want this?  I do!  Do you?

Category: Romance and Relationships

This is a result of my musings on relationships.  Enjoy

One can catagorize relationships into different types.

Stranger:  No relationship

Lonelyness: Not having anyone.  A very sad state.

Aquantance: Someone you know

Friend:  Someone you like who likes you back

Friend With Benefits:  Like a friend but with sex added into the mix.  Common form of early romantic relationship.  Lover.  Often you do not live with this person

Beloved: Someone you love, could be anyone including relatives and friends.  You may live with this person.

Beloved With Benefits:  This is the classic love with sex, you may not be living together or you might.

Long Distance:  Frustrating phone and web and cam relationship.  Could last years though

Living Together: Roomate with benefits, has all the problems a roomate might have but there is sex involved.  Love is an option.  10 years of this and you are technically married by common law.

Marrage:  Like living together but sanctioned by law and custom, there are legal rights and responsipilities involved.  Breakups are difficult.

Note, there are advantages to living apart.  You have your own place to go and are not with the other person unless you want to be.  Also you are not pooling resources usually.  As for living together, I have yet to do this and don't have a strong opinion except it occurs to me your partner may have traits that make him or her unsuitable as roomates.  Living apart this is not a problem.

Money seems to be an issue but it shouldn't be depending on what you want.  What is important is your partner isn't dependant on you or vice versa as this leads to power struggles and other weird dynamics.  Whatever his or her situation is, if they can take care of themselves it should be ok especially if you live appart.

These are my thoughts on the subject.

Erotic cartoons?  Seen any? Yes? No?  Probably at least one.  Why are there not so many of them?  Not talking about ones from Japan now although a few of them are nice but cartoons in the American mode aka Disney,Warners, old MGM, etc.  A feature or a short or a series.  Why not?  Note I am not talking about titilation like Tex and Blair's Red Hot Riding Hood but things with stronger content.

We have had a few.  Ralph Bakshi and John Kricfalusi gave us some of that.  John K. Gave us Ren And Stimpy in Naked Beach Frenzy with the help of the lovely Katie Rice and Ralph Bakshi, most of his films had erotic content or at least some nudity.

Then we had Stripperella by Stan Lee and Pam Anderson.  Great cartoon series about a stripper superheroine.  We also had Drawn Together.

Note though that most of these things are softcore.  What about hardcore?  Europe did some cartoons but not very good ones so I will not go into it.  Supposedly it is well known that Animators love drawing naked girls and sex too.  Where is the sex?

Well John K. Did do a raunchy and funny video for Tenacious D's song "Fuck Her Gently" with a devil girl and two cherubs goin at it. but why not more?  Yeah there are web cartoons of harder stuff but not of John K. quality.

Is there a market for this?  I think there is although in the US we are too screwy about sex for theatrical release but a Disney or John K. quality hardcore film or series of shorts on DVD or the web I think would work quite well?

The question is who will do it?  How much will it cost them?  What is the market?  How do you sell it?  What about the bluenoses?

Anyone have an answer?

Hi folks!  I was gonna write something of great importance that would shatter your puny minds with it's brilliance and enrich your lives forever but, well, I got lazy.  Oh Well....

...I guess you are stuck with this should you choose to read it.

Noticing an ad on myspace for bras but using a woman with HUGE boobies.  Who are they selling the bras to?

Learning more on animation.  I was going to write a blog article on how to animate but in the end it would have been book sized and I am just too goddamn lazy.

Other animation news.  Supposedly Bob Clampett and Chuck Jones didn't like each other however I never saw signs of this before but John Kricfalusi of ren and Stimpy Fame knew Bob personally and seems to think so.  I don't know, both men are dead and both were great but very different cartoonists.

I got interested in Jazz and Swing music from my Looney Tunes box sets.  Did you know the word Jazz was slang for sex?  Also if you ever hear the word Jellyroll it is slang for Vagina.  I can remember Lena Horn in Cabin In The Sky singing with a sly expression that, "there is jelly in the (pause) Jellyroll and there is love in me!".  Ah sex, such fun.

Speaking on that subject, Yes, I still have no ladyfriend.  Annoying to know what I have to offer isn't enough for most women if not all of them.  Makes one want to be a he man woman hater like in the Little Rascals but Damn it, Women are just so darn Pretty!

Saw Speed Racer yesterday and it was great!  Go see it!  Right Now!  I will wait!

They made a robot girlfriend in japan, sorta like a girl shaped AIBO and not much smarter or bigger.  The per for a lonely man but you can't have sex with it.

Who buys Real Dolls?  They look like corpses.

Well thats all the ramblings for now.  Magic mirror tell me today did all my children have fun at play?  I see Jayne and Julianna and denice and Fee and Princess and everyone else who bothered to read this stupid thing!

That was a Romper Room Gag!

See ya at the Appocolypse!
