Okay... I have been thinking for a few months about this topic... and then not 3 weeks before it gets here someone else does the topic in another blog group...
Oh well.... Fine with me... but now I'm left trying to spin a new view on the same subject matter...
I know that the other gals have some topics on the list, but being the stoner girl I am I couldn't let one of my favorite 'holidays' go unnoticed...
What 'holiday' you ask?
April 20th
Otherwise known as 420
Now last year, before the new profile and all those avatars that I hide behind, I wrote about the origin of 420. It turns out that it was all started by a group of stoner teens that met at a statue everyday at 4:20 to get their smoke on. Kinda lacking in notoriety, but nevertheless we stoners have come to call 420 a part of our stoner language.
In fact, there are lots of words a phrases out there that have a meaning to those of us who like to smoke the cheeba.
In that same blog from last year I professed my desire to have a certain book... Pot Culture ... Since writing that blog I have acquired it, and it sits in front of me now. This book is truly an amazing find, and I have looked through it many times, and each time I find something that I didn't know before.
In fact... They have, in the front of the book, a list of rules or 'stoner etiquette' and in that list of 13 there were a few that I was very familiar with such as:
#1 - ALWAYS SHARE - Its the stoner way.OR
#3 - Pass to the Left - no explanation necessary But there were also others that I had heard before but never though of as rule of the green thumb... Like:
#8 - Don't Scorch the Bowl - When smoking our of a pipe or bong light the corner so that there is a little green for the next smoker...Then there was others that I was totally clueless about...
#10 - Flush the Toilet - When smoking from a bong, leaving leftover smoke in the chamber is not cool. Finish your hit or blow it out.The point I am trying to make is that even though there are lots of stuff out there about my friend MaryJane, you may not know the whole story... and that my friends leads us to our topic this week.
Whether you are a current smoker, or you have only tried it once, or maybe never at all, I think all of us have heard something about Ganja that we don't quite understand.
My task to you this week is to tell me a story, give me some facts, or even show off some hilarious stoner pics.... but I would also like you to see if you can find out something about my leafy green friend that you never knew before...
If it's news to you... Then tell us all about it!
It could be a reference to Marijuana that you hadn't noticed before... in a movie (ie Pulp Fiction) a song (ie Rollin Down the River) comic (ie Spiderman) anything goes folks...
It can be something that you heard from a friend, something that you saw on TV, or ran across on the web, but knowledge is power, as they say, and I think that this week we should try and find out more about this lowly plant that has been deemed hazardous by our lovely government.
Oh yeah... Earth Day is also this week, and I think by learning a little more about a plant, any plant, would be as good as anything else to celebrate the greatness that our mother earth has blessed us with.
I hope you have fun with this... I can't wait to hear the factoids you guys find, and I know that with as many different personalities that we have here, that the presentation will be one of great enjoyment.
