Hey all! I'm going to start posting some blogs up with random information, theories and ideas regarding electronic dance music... I'm currently doing a research project for my music production degree, and for my dissertation I'm asking the question 'Why is experimentation not immediately apparent in commercial dance music?'
My brief and basic thesis is that commercial dance music is repetitive and insists on using the same sounds and has not left itself any room to evolve because people are used to hearing certain things, and will therefore not accept anything else and just eventually get bored with commercial dance music.
My antithesis is that commercial dance music is constantly evolving and changing, but very subtly so that people can be slowly eased into new sounds. Certain formulas and traditions may need to be followed because of scientific, psychological and philosophical effects those elements cause that make people want to dance and inducing them into a slight trance to cause them to not want to leave the dancefloor.
I'd like this to be an open discussion where people can discuss ideas, share knowledge and maybe feed me with some resources you know of. Any input would be really helpful, I'm especially looking for people who feel annoyed by people insulting dance music and people who dislike dance music with a passion!

| You are interested in the big picture and have less attention and interest in details. Studying new concepts is also favored; your ability to understand abstract ideas and your desire to grow intellectually is strong now. Anything than broadens your mind appeals to you at this time.

Hey all!I'm really proud with my production lately, and to show off a few of my newly focused skills I've uploaded a track which may be coming on my upcoming mixtape 'Unpublishable Dubs V2'.
It's called 'Malcolm' and it's basically just a fuck around joke track directed at my mate who's owed me over a wonner for like 2 years lol. I've basically just compared him to the character 'Billy Mitchell' from Eastenders, who always seemed to owe somebody money and be on the doll and that lol. I then mailed the track to him on CD and wound him up about it!
Hope you're all good! Keep connected!

A little blog telling you a little something about my new Dubstep track 'How To Sell A Baby'.
The idea all started with the 'sung' vocal sample, which originally said something else but I twisted it up to say something completely different... Which now sounds like 'sell a... baby'. I wonder if anybody can guess where the original sample came from? So after I'd gotten that sample sorted, I sat for a bit and thought about how fucked up the world is... 'It's guaranteed somebody in this world has tried to sell their children', I thought to myself... So off I went on a youtube search for a relevant story, and sure enough, 'German family try to sell their baby on ebay'. Perfect - a full, completely fucked up and twisted story for my tune! So bang, in goes that sample... Some touching up, processing and effects and boom, along comes the inspiration for the rest of the track!
Hope you all enjoy! If you do PLEASE do leave me some feedback!
Take care, until next time friends.
WHYREZ.

This track is the first one I've considered adding to my up-coming album release 'WHYRED'. It's more of a hype track than my usual trance-enticing Dubstep tracks, but I feel some hype tracks are necessary as a Dubstep producer.
The reason behind the name, I Refuse The Poison, is partly due to me spending some time thinking about Cancer and chemotherapy... I've read in various articles about chemotherapy sometimes causing more damage than good, but obviously not always. So this track sort of signifies an emotion one might feel if they were to be offered chemotherapy. I have upmost respect for anybody who has to face such a hard decision and am not saying I would refuse any treatment if there was a chance it would help, I'm just stating the philosophy behind the track name.
Also regarding this, I'm so glad to see they may have found a new way of using oxygen in cancer treatment increasing the effects of chemo and radio therapy. It's about time we found a way to fight this disease for good, I'd say that would be the biggest step made forward in this era and would prove how the human is still evolving to survive. Now all we need is to stop war and learn to be one with one another and we'll be as good as gods.

Good things come to those who remain focused on their goals. You are in a period in which progress towards realizing your goals may seem agonizingly slow in coming, or non-existent. For you the challenge is to persevereto not allow yourself to slack offas positive results are on the horizon. | |

Hey all! Hope you're all good, how's your weekend going?
I've just been chilling this weekend, taking a month of drinking and going out to focus on getting certain tasks completed... This means plenty of new tracks for you
I've actually been focusing quite hard on the Dubstep lately, a lot of bootlegs... I know, shameful lol... But it's good inspiration!
I've just uploaded a new track to my player 'One Hundred Percent'. I like to look at it as a new form of Funky, it seems a lot harder and syncopated than the norm for Funky, which I suppose sort of takes the whole Funky idea away, but I'm going to call it Funky anyway as the elements are there! Doing a couple more tracks like this at the moment too, loving up sidechaining a bit, been on the Deadmau5 a little too much I think!
On myspace news, I've taken down my reverbnation player just so I can focus harder on keeping new tunes uploaded noticeably on myspace
Keep in touch people! You're all wicked x
