Last week Joey and Johnny DeFrancesco finished up recording on the DeFrancesco Brothers CD due out in early 2010 at the Music Centre with Glenn Ferracone. This CD is going to as hip as anything Jimmy Smith and Thornel Swartz recorded for Blue Note in the 1950's. On Friday, Ray Ferretti recorded another duo session with Ron Thomas and Bobby Rose. We will continue record this duo until we get a wide enough variety of music to make a CD. The last time they recorded together was 1973. The chemistry between them never went away. Ray Ferretti's "Meet My Mind" is in the last stage of mixing. This recording features Ray's playing and writing with keyboard appearances from Ron Thomas and Richard Burton. This CD should be available by the summer of  2009.

Vectordisc will be producing a series of Jazz Workshops at the Kennett Flash on Tuesday evenings beginning on April 26th. There are four additional dates planned on May 12th and 26th and June 9th and 23rd. The music will start at 7:30 pm each night featuring various Vectordisc recording artists. Players are welcome to sit in. Please check out this beautiful performance space for some world class jazz.

Vectordisc continues to record more good music than we could ever afford to release. Thanks to engineers, Glenn Ferracone and Ray Ferretti there are several CDs ready for cover design by Danny Schweers and manufacturing at Discmakers. The list includes Javier O'Keefe's Earleville Breakdown, Paul Klinefelter's Nightmood, Ray Ferretti's Meet My Mind, Ron Thomas' 100,000 Doves, Ron Thomas' Untitled Quartet and Glenn Ferracone's Electric Quintet. The projects in progress are Richard Burton's Fat Samba and the DeFrancesco Brothers Trio. Next up for recording will be the Ron Thomas and Bobby Rose Duo and another installment of the Johnny DeFrancesco Power Trio.
