This album is kind of a companion to "Come Home". It was made during the same time period. Being new to the whole computer music thing, K_niv_es tried experimenting with the technology to sort of mimic the Brian Eno "sound". What came out of those expirements came something other than that. Muddy, grainy, and dark drones with a few delayed sweeps sprinkled throughout. This album also includes a song that was a team up between K_niv_es and The Binary Marketing Show, only to be destroyed later through a remix session gone awry.

This is the second attempt from K_niv_es. This album is probably the darkest of all of his albums. Further grasping the concept of programming music, K_niv_es attempts to fall into his own style. He probably didn't quite make it that far but this album definitely has a certain reflective quality that his other albums lack.

"Explain Not" was made during a phase in which K_niv_es became dissatisfied with the government of the United States. The never ending war with Iraq, the re-election of Bush, Katrina, and a never ending list of fallicies gave K_niv_es the inspiration for this album. That and, well, a dog named Taesia and a woman who could've had hot water thrown in her face.

From 2005 to 2007, K_niv_es was a very busy guy as far as production goes. Five full length albums and a 5 song e.p. were produced during those years. And this is not to mention his other musical projects.... As you can imagine, there were tons of trashed songs and unfinished material that was thrown into the vault. "B-trax & Patchworx" is a collection of that material. The "B-trax" are songs that simply weren't up to par or didn't quite fit onto an album and the "Patchworx" are parts of unfinished songs "patched" together in medley form, the longest being a little over 17 minutes long.
