The Means have a sort of Butthole Surfers meets the Queens of the Stone Age and Fu Manchu sound. A heavy garage rock band that is very dark in their guitar/bass combination.

Bear with me, I'm drunk w/a little Captain in me at the moment. Just getting a chance to listen to these guys and I'm loving them lots! "Real Men" don't cry! I heard something about meth in that song which made me bust out laughing. Reminds my of Gas Huffer, the Supersuckers, & Revrend Horton Heat. Hellbilly Rock.

Pen15 is one of those bands that's been around forever. I even played bass for them in the original lineup. Now consisting of Dustin on guitar & vocals & Andy on Bass they've definitely found their perfect sound. It's soo good other bands have stolen their songs. They're kinda like if Mudhoney was dating Placebo but broke up to go out with Local H.

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Nelson, Bubba & V Stak definitely have something going for them. Their album "Buried in the Backyard of My Heart" is quite aesthetic even if you're listening to it for the first time. They have a Dandy Warhols meets the Pixies kind of sound with a Kinksian approach.

I don't know much about this band. All I know is that they're quite amazing in a disconnected, different reality type of way. I'd describe them as a distorted lofi Sonic Youthish, Bright Eyes meets Folk Implosion with a hint of Sufjan Stevens. but really that doesn't describe them well just give em a listen yourself.
