For the first time ever, the Hank Williams Fan Club is having a fundraiser in October at the Hank Williams Park in Georgiana Al. Please come out and support this event on Saturday October the 10th 2009.
Here is what we plan to have.  Arts and Crafts.  If you have something to sell please contact us and get you a space at the Festival.  We have Food Vendor
spaces avalable also.  We are selling fish plates, hotdogs, hamburgers, and fish sandwiches.
We are having
Live Music.  Locally from Georgiana, Al. we will have Back Creek.  Now these boys and girls can sing country music.  We also have Nite Moves.  They draw the crowd on sat. nights in Georgiana at Shoomolly's.
From Mobile, Al. we are having Recording Artist
Jenny Simms.  She has toured with Michael Twitty and the Twitty Birds, and has also been a past performer at the Hank Williams Festival. From Satsuma, Al. We have the Gulf Coast Opry.  We love to hear these folks play & sing that country music.
Our featured guest with "TWO" shows one at 3:00 and one at 6:00, is..........
"BLACK ELVIS".  He is Michael Burnett form Pensacola, Fl. and folks, this man is "good".  I think if ole Hank were around he would love to see this performance.  Heck...I think Tee Tot would too!  Michael has toured up and down the Gulf coast and all around.  You just can't miss this!!
We also have Slim Pickins from Jackson, Ga. featuring lead singer and Recording Artist
Frank Brannon.  This band plays that good ole traditional country music and is a past guest of the Hank Williams Festival.
Starting at 8:00 we have a very special band from Georga called
Blue Collar.
They will be our actual night time,  street dance band, playing a little country a little hip hop....well, I bet there will be something in there to make you happy!
The other big thing we have going that day is a
Antique / Classic Car Show.
If you have a car to enter, bring it on, if not just come on down and take a look!  We hope to have something for everyone!  Best of all.....
Entrance to the park is
"FREE, FREE, FREE "  the car show is $1.00.
It will be a day of affordable family fun.  Gates open at 8:00 am.   Car Show starts at 10:00 am and the music starts at 12 noon until we drop!!  so bring your chairs (
NO COOLERS ALLOWED IN THE PARK ) and lets have some
"GOOD COUNTRY FUN"

Sherri Brackin, Mary Wallace, and 1st place winner TJ Bender of Greenville Al.

Well folks, it's come, and it's gone, and it was great!
We had some very talented songwriters join us in Georgiana, Alabama at this years Hank Williams Festival.  After a 4 year hiatus, the HWIFC brought back the song writing contest as a fund raiser for the club, not only to help raise money but to help encourage membership.  It also gives songwriters a chance to perform their song before judges for a chance to win recording time, a trophy, and a Guitar!  The winner also had the chance to preform their winning song on the big stage of the Hank Williams Festival, and will also be able to do the same at the Alabama Pecan Festival in Mobile, Al. In November.
Our 4th runner up was Renea Harrison of Panama City, Fl.
3rd runner up was Ron Jeffers of Bay Minette, Al.
2nd runner up was Vinny D'Amico of Belford, NJ.
and last but not least our grand prize winner........
TJ Bender of Greenville, Al.
I want to thank Mary Wallace who is our Fan Club President.
Without her help, phone calls, advise, etc, I would still be running around like a Chicken with no head.  She believed in  the cause and supported it from the beginning. Many thanks to our Judges, Angie Long with the Greenville Advocate, Connie Baggett, with the Mobile Press Register, Dr. Beth Billy of the Jefferson Community College, Brewton, Al. , Jerry Willard, song writer, from Mobile, Al. Also Marie Brazell, and Betty Henry who acted as tie breaker judge and scorekeeper, both of McKenzie, Al. Nothing like this would be complete without a Master of Ceremonies.  We were so honored to have Mr. Ron Taylor of Red Level, Al. who did a wonderful job. I would also like to thank the sponsors who helped us out.  Recording time donated by Jeff Lasecki of Instant Karma Entertainment/ IKE Records-Birmingham.  Guitar donated by Slim Pickins band members, John Wise and Frank Brannon. Sew what Impressions, Georgiana Nutrition Center, and the Alabama Pecan Festival.
Now if you missed out this year, be sure you don't miss out next year.  Hopefully, we will just get bigger and better.
Please check out the pic's of this years winners on this site and also  www.hankwilliamsinternationalfanclub.com.
Thanks to all our friends who have supported us and the Hank Williams Fan Club.   " KEEP HANKIN"

Sincerely,

Sherri Brackin
