Hey guys,
We've got some good news for you today!

We've just posted a new song on our Myspace as well as a cool live video taken by the nice ladies from Ska Montreal!  It feels good to finally have something new on our page so go check it out and let us know what you think.  Word!

For those who live in Montreal, make sure you don't miss our next show because it's gonna be nothing less than awesome! That's right! On Sunday, October 11th, we'll be playing at Club Soda at the first ever Montreal Ska Festival with a bunch of sweet bands such as The Slackers, Chris Murray, Lolo sings Rocksteady, Take The Boys and The Idlers.  Make sure to make it and tell your friends about it!  It's time to show how strong OUR scene is.  The world is watching... ha!

on a des petites nouvelles pour vous aujourd'hui!

Tout d'abord, nous avons mis une nouvelle chanson en ligne sur notre Myspace ainsi qu'un vidéo live filmé par les les filles de Ska Montreal!  Ça fait du bien de finalement avoir de quoi de nouveau sur notre page alors allez y jeter un oeil et dites-nous ce que vous en pensez.  Word!

Pour ceux qui vivent à Montréal maintenant, soyez certains de ne pas rater notre prochain show parce qu'il ne serait rien de moins que mémorable!  Oh  oui!  Dimanche le 11 Octobre prochain, nous jouerons au Club Soda dans le cadre de la première édition du Montreal Ska Festival avec une grosse poignée de bons bands (The Slackers, Chris Murray, Lolo sings Rocksteady, Take The Boys et The Idlers).  Soyez-y et passez le mot!  C'est le temps de montrer au monde à quel point NOTRE scène est solide...ha!

Hey people!
Hope you're all doing well and that your weekend wasn't as tough on the body as ours was!  Yeah, it was a crazy weekend on our end...again.  We had rehearsals every day to tighten up our set for the upcoming tour that kicks off this coming Friday and we all went to the Montreal Ska Fest benefit concert at the Campus on Saturday.  All three bands were great, there were tons of people and it was just nice to hang out with all the folks there.  What a blast!

That being said, you all know that I'm not writing you to talk about what I did last weekend.  Who cares, right?  Ha!  I just wanted  to let you know  that we have a new video up on our page. So for those of you who were dying for something new on our page, here it is!  It's footage from our last show in Montreal so go check it out, I swear you won't be disappointed. Booya!


For those of you who live in Montreal, Repentigny and Shawinigan, make sure you come out to the first three shows of the tour.  They're gonna be off the hook!  Here's some more info about each one:
Friday June 26th @ Parc Drapeau, Montreal -- we will be opening for U Roy (how awesome is that!)  and we'll be sharing the stage with reggae legend Vernon Maytone!  We play at 4:30 so make sure you come early!  You can get your ticket by clicking HERE


Tuesday June 30th @ Pub St-Maurice, Repentigny -- it's Canada Day so that means you don't work on Wednesday!  We will be playing with Magny Style from RDC who will do an acoustic set and playing all the best RDC songs.  Tickets are $5 and the beer is cheap so make sure you come out to that one.

Thursday July 2th @ Willow Fest, Shawinigan -- there's no better way to kick off a summer tour than playing a big outdoor show with awesome bands.  That's right!  On the bill that night are Trois-Rivieres heroes Val Salva and France's dub High Tone.  The show is free and starts at 6PM.

J’espère que vous allez bien et que votre weekend n’a pas été aussi rough que le notre!  Et oui, un autre weekend comme on les aime!  Nous avons pratiqué chaque jour de la fin de semaine afin de solidifier notre set de la tournée qui débute ce vendredi et sommes allés au show bénéfice pour le Montreal Ska Fest samedi dernier au Campus.  Les trois bands étaient tous excellents, il y avait plein de monde et c’était vraiment cool de chiller avec le monde présent ce soir-là.  Une vraiment cool soirée !

Ceci dit, vous savez tous que je ne vous écris pas pour vous jaser de mon weekend.  Qui est-ce que ça intéresse right ?  Ha !  Je vous écrivais en fait pour vous dire que nous avons un nouveau vidéo en ligne sur notre page.  Pour tout ceux qui mouraient d’envie d’avoir quelque chose de nouveau de notre part…ben voilà!  Ce vidéo est tiré de notre dernier à Montréal alors allez checker ça, je vous jure que vous ne serez pas décu.  Booya !

It is true...The Beatdown will finally be entering the studio this weekend! Rejoice!! You'll finally be able to hear more than one song on our myspace! The plan (there’s always a plan!) is to record 6-7 new songs as well as a couple of covers (always staying in that good old-school sound that we all love!) for our debut record which should be coming out in the next couple of months.

So we're asking you to be patient for just a little while long...but you'll be able to hear some brand new stuff real soon!

While you're waiting, why don't you go check our show listings and see if we'll be making it to your neck of the woods this summer.  We're so ready to rock the hell out this summer!

Salut à tous!
Et oui, The Beatdown entrera finalement en studio ce weekend!  Nice! C’est donc dire que vous pourrez bientôt entendre plus d’une toune sur notre Myspace !  Le plan (il y a toujours un plan!) est d'enregistrer 6-7 nouvelles tounes et quelques covers (toujours avec le bon vieux son old-school qu’on aime tant !) en prévision de la sortie de notre premier album qui devrait voir le jour dans les prochains mois.

Alors, soyez patients encore un peu car vous allez entendre du nouveau stock très bientôt!

Pendant ce temps, consultez notre liste de spectacles et soyez certains de ne pas manquer notre passage dans votre ville.  On est prêt à kicker des culs...dans le bon sens du terme (s'il y en a un!).

j'espère que vous allez bien et que vous avez tous très hâte que l'été s'installe pour de bon.  De notre côté, nous sommes très enthousisates face à cet été car, oui oui, nous avons une bonne pelletée de shows à vous offrir pour la saison estivale...vous donnant une raison de plus de voir l'été d'un bon oeil!

Alors, allez faire un tour sur notre page pour voir ou nous passerons dans les prochaines semaines et soyez certains que nous avons vraiment hâte de vous voir (ou revoir) et de faire le party comme s'il n'y avait pas de lendemain!  Cette tournée sera notre première en tant que The Beatdown alors il faut fêter ça, right?

Au cours de cette tournée, nous aurons de plus la chance de jouer avec le chanteur Jamaicain Vernon Maytone (www.myspace.com/themaytones) du groupe légendaire The Maytones pour une dizaine de dates.  Ça donnera donc un petit bonus pour ces shows qui sont vraiment à ne pas manquer!

Hey folks,
I would like to thank everyone who came out to L’Esco last Friday for our first Montreal show.  It was crazy packed, the vibe was amazing and we had a blast!  What’s cool with playing in a small venue on a stage that’s actually not a stage (the audience was at the same level as the band) is that you can really feel everyone’s vibe, which made the night amazing.  Thanks to Soul & Spirit for playing such an awesome set, thanks to Ska Montreal and Punk Me Up for helping out with the promo and thank YOU for dancing and singing along with us. We can’t wait to play Montreal again!

J’aimerais remercier tous les gens qui se sont pointés à L’Esco vendredi dernier pour notre premier show à Montréal.  La place était remplie à craquer, l’ambiance était incroyable et nous avons vraiment eu du fun!  Ce qui est cool avec le fait de jouer dans une petite salle comme l’Esco sur une scène qui n’est pas vraiment une scène (le crowd est à la même hauteur que le groupe) est que tu sens vraiment l’énergie des gens dans la place et cette soirée était mémorable pour ça.  Merci à Soul & Spirit pour avoir partager la scène avec nous, merci à Ska Montreal et Punk Me Up de nous avoir aidé avec la promo et merci à VOUS d’avoir dansé et chanté avec nous.  On a bien hâte à la prochaine fois !

Hey folks,
Long time no talk!

These past few weeks have been very busy for us, getting ready for the first two shows that we’ll be playing this weekend.  In fact, we’ve been rehearsing like crazy for the past month and a half, writing bunch of new tracks and making them as awesome as we can for you to enjoy!

We’re very proud of the new tracks and we can’t wait for you to hear them and tell us what you think! So if you live in the Trois-Rivieres and Jonquiere area, swing by Le Charlot and La Voie Maltée next weekend (May 8-9) and come party with us for what should be two memorable nights!  Come on! First shows only happen once in a band..s career so wouldn..t it be cool if a few years down the line you could say:  I saw their first show EVER and they rocked my socks off!!!

Other than that, we’ll be entering the studio sometime this month to record a new track so keep your ears and eyes peeled cuz we’ll posting it on our page as soon as it’s finished.  That’s it for now but stay tuned cuz there..s a lot more coming your way!

Ça fait un bail qu’on n’a pas donné de nouvelles!

Ces dernières semaines ont été pas mal intenses, nous préparant pour nos deux premiers shows qui auront lieu ce weekend.  Depuis un mois et demi, nous pratiquons comme des malades, écrivons des nouvelles tounes et travaillons à les rendre le meilleur possible pour le plaisir de vos oreilles !

On est pas mal fiers de ces nouvelles tounes et on est tous très enthousiastes à l’idée de les jouer live et d’avoir vos commentaires alors, si vous vivez dans la région de Trois-Rivières ou de Jonquière, venez faire un tour au Charlot et à la Voie Maltée (8-9 Mai) et venez fêter avec nous pour ce qui s’annoncent être deux soirées mémorables.  Come on, les premiers shows d’un band n’arrivent qu’une fois dans la carrière d’un band alors soyez parmi ceux qui pourront dire dans dix ans:  J’ai vu leur premier show EVER pis c’était malade !!!

À part de ça, nous entrerons en studio dans quelques semaines pour enregistrer une nouvelle toune alors gardez vos yeux et oreilles ouverts car dès qu’elle est prête, on la mettera en ligne sur notre page !  C’est pas mal ça pour l’instant.

On se voit sur la route (wow, ça fait longtemps que je n’ai pas dit ça !)

Hi everyone and welcome to The Beatdown’s page!
That’s right…while winter was raging outside, everyone in the ONB crew took some time off to relax and finally being home. As for me, I took this free time to write. Without asking myself if the songs I was writing would ever be played live one day, I just wrote for the hell of it!

The fact that the One Night Band had decided to take a break gave me the opportunity to do something else. That’s how The Beatdown came to life.

All it took was three phone calls to three long-time friends and the band was formed…as simple as that!

The band is still young, we just started practicing but let me tell you that what we’ve got so far is already sounding really good! The new songs kick ass! Everyone in the band is stoked and I think we’ve got all the ingredients we need to make a damn good ol’ reggae & ska recipe.

I hope you’re ready because the way things are going…it’s all gonna come really quickly!!

To give you guys a preview of what we’ve been working on, we’ve posted a new song on our Myspace. This is sure to keep you satisfied while we’re hard at work recording our first EP which should see the day in the next couple of months!

Oh! And I almost forgot…we’ve got a bunch of shows coming up, so come check us out!

Salut tout le monde et bienvenue sur la page de The Beatdown!
Et oui…alors que l’hiver frappait fort et que incidemment, j’avais trop de temps de libre, je me suis mis à écrire des nouvelles tounes…juste pour le fun. Le fait que le One Night Band ait décidé d’entrer en pause m’a donné la chance de me consacrer à ces nouvelles tounes et l’idée d’avoir un nouveau band a alors commencé à me trotter dans la tête. C’est ainsi qu’est arrivé The Beatdown.

Trois appels à trois chums de longue date et le band était formé. Pas plus compliqué que ça...

Le band est encore jeune, on commence tout juste à pratiquer mais disons que ça sent bon ! Les nouvelles tounes sonnent comme une tonne de briques, tout le monde est enthousiaste et tous les ingrédients sont réunis pour faire du bon vieux reggae & ska comme on l’aime.

Alors j’espère que vous êtes prêts parce que ça va bouger vite.

Pour vous donner un avant goût de ce sur quoi on travaille depuis quelques temps, une première toune a été mis en ligne sur notre Myspace. Ça devrait vous faire patienter pendant qu’on travaille sur un premier EP qui devrait voir le jour dans les prochains mois.

Oh ! et j’allais oublié…on a une grosse série de shows qui s’en vient …vous viendrez voir ça !
