                                Haunted in your sleep?

I believe that people can be haunted not only in their awake life, but also in their sleep. Upon further questioning of others, I feel safe to say I have been haunted in my sleep. I heard lots of stories from my dad's hospice nurse's of loved one's of terminally ill patients having hauntings in their sleep or doing their awake time. Not only the loved ones, but also the patients themselves of people who have already passed away.
Here is my story:
In 2000, I was going to college and lived with 3 female roommates in a four bedroom house about 5 blocks from campus. During this time my grandpa had a stroke while on a trip in Arizona. When he came back, he had to go to a nursing home, because the stroke was pretty bad and he had lost movement in a lot of his body and couldn't swallow very well. As time went on his second wife was diagnosed with cancer. She died 3 or 4 months later.
One weekend past Christmas, I had a dream about visiting my grandpa. So, I told my mom we should really go see grandpa this weekend. So, we visited him. He spoke about my grandma (his first wife) coming to visit him and that we just missed her. After the visit my mom and I talked about how we both thought that someone or animal would come to get you when it was your time. We both agreed that we thought that whoever it was that would be coming to get you would visit you a few times before the actual passing. So, we thought (and think) my grandma (his first wife) is the one who came to show him to heaven.
The next weekend, I dreamt that I was 4 or 5 years old again and I was holding hands with my grandpa while walking down a long, gray, brick hallway. We reached the end of the hallway and there was a metal door. My grandpa smiled at me and went in the door without me. I started crying and banging on the door for him to come back. He opened the door, put his finger to his lips to shhhh me, and said "You can't come in here.". He smiled at me again and I felt relieved. Behind him I could see my grandma (his first wife) and one of my aunts who had already died. He shut the door again and didn't return. I woke up not long after that. Later, that morning I found out he had passed away in his sleep that night.
I believe it was him coming to say good-bye to me before his spirit left this earth. I have not dreamt of him since, but the memory of that dream stays in me as if it had just happened.
