Current mood:  working
Well, it's that time of year again. Time to take stock of our lives, set some
new goals, and make those often abandoned New Year Resolutions.

How many people do you know that are right now, naming off every New Years resolution under the sun?  How many of those resolutions have you heard year after year and continously see nothing come of those resolutions?

.....Like for instance....

1. Spend More Time with Family & Friends

.....Ok, why now? What is wrong with coming up with that idea and following through, say in June? Shame on you if you aren't spending time with your friends and family already. ...tsk tsk!

2. Fit in Fitness

....honestly...who has the time? Get a dog and go on daily walks. One, the dog will make you fit in the time to walk him/her and in time you'll get fit...unless you care to have poppie floors in your house! Yuck ol mightly!

3. Tame the Bulge

Again who has the time? See the above -or- tighten up the belt and wear tighter clothes...hahaha!     Well....stay away from the tighter clothes of you get a walking happy dog...one you'll look funny and two, I don't care to be shot by the flying buttons that are popping off of your clothes.

4. Quit Smoking

For someone who doesn't smoke like me, this isn't a problem. However if you are a smoker, just smoke two cigs. or more at a time, eventually you'll quit smoking. Just grab the bull by the horns and stop cold turkey....and lock yourself in a room by yourself for a month.   That would be less painful when compared to dying of cancer or some other smoking related diesease.

5. Enjoy Life More

If you aren't enjoying life more as it is, well then stop taking everything in life so seriously....really!

6. Quit Drinking

Quit drinking what? Water, tea, soda, alcohol? Who would ever come up with such a dumb idea such as this?  To say quit drinking is like saying...quit breathing!

7. Get Out of Debt

Yeah right? Unless your rich uncle suddenly changes state and becomes "room temperature",....AND you are in this rich uncles will, you'll  n-e-v-e-r  get out of debt. With the rising prices of everything and lower wages, you'll never get out of the situation that you are in. Even if you get a better paying job in another city with much better pay.....have you stopped to look at the cost of living in the city where the new job is located? I would bet that the cost of living is higher thus giving reason for the higher pay....so in the end with all things being equal, you'll still be just as broke "there" as you are here. Best advise, stay where you are. You'll be richer with friends and family around than any dead or alive rich uncle.

8. Learn Something New

Todays lesson is...resolve to not make new years resolutions, you'll never stick to them.Statistics show that only about 15% of New Years Resolutions are kept. With an 85% failure rate, it's no wonder that the amount of resolutions made is dropping.

9. Help Others

I am trying to help others by seeing the "bigger picture" about New Years resolutions.

10. Get Organized

iAm hIGhly OrGaNiZeD...totally! ...in my own way of course.

Just rember this......Statistics show that only about 15% of New Years Resolutions are kept. With an 85% failure rate, it's no wonder that the amount of resolutions made is dropping.

In the end, what this means over all, keep your family and friends close at all times, do not over extend yourself, try and be content with where you are and what you have.....the grass isn't always greener elsewhere. Be good to yourself and others.

Above all...Have a happy and safe New Year!

How are you going to spend your New Years day?
Me...it is off to Rouses Point NY to fix an EAS box at WKYJ.....
(unless you are along for the ride, there will be photos posted...stay tuned)

How many people are tired...ok past tired of paying 3 bucks or more for a gallon of gas....raise your hand! [wow! I see a lot of hands!]

Well I certainly am tired of paying these rising gas prices and paying 120 bucks a months of my hard earned money a month for gas. Yes I know some of you out there are paying far more a month for gas if you drive a gas thursty SUV or something of the like, but certainly 120 bucks a month for a Nissan is far more than it was 5 years ago.

So with that thought, I am on a new quest. EV's! or Electric Vehicles. [ see www.austinev.org for photos and some info on the new and not so new EV's on the road. ] Certainly one could not really plan to go cross country in one of these without making many stops along the way to recharge the batteries, but an EV for commuting from home to work and back makes more sense. Especially considering that 80% of our driving is done commuting to and from work and all withing a 30 mile one way trip too!.

Imagion, never having to stop at a gas station. Get up in the morning, unplug your car, jump in and drive. Get to work, plug your car in to top off the battery all day during an 8 to 10 hour shift. At the end of the day, unplug the car and drive home...all for 50 cents or less a day for the cost of electricity used to recharge and top off the batteries.

Compare this to $3.00 or more a gallon for gasoline, it makes perfect sense to go electric "around the town" in an EV. Save the gas powered car for those longer hauls and watch how much money you'll save in a year.

With all this talk about EV's, I am looking for one. It is an older manufactured car that was made from the mid 70's to early 80's. The vehicle is often refered to as a C-Car or Citicar or Comutacar.

Some photo links of the car that I am looking for:

It may be a bit of a funny or strange looking car, but who cares as long as you save tons on gas and get from point A to point B.

If you know of anyone that has a vehicle like this that is just collecting dust and needs a bit of work, contact me here via MySpace.
