Yes we do! This town must be the absolut dead-end of culture! It does not matter what great bands are brought to play here, there just is no audience! No-one has an interest in live-bands. Fun thing is, that all those people always going on complaining that nothing ever happens here, they never attend any event whatsoever themselves. Why is this town so in complete lack of dedicated and interested people? You might start to suspect that they have gathered all those in one place, and they chose Kalmar... Good for the rest of the world, but we don't like it! Note, we have NOT gone completely over the top, beliving that every single citizen whant's to spend the night listening to us, but, also playing where The Sacred Sailors from Gothenborg and Pretty Whores from Malmö. They are fuckin' awesome live-acts! They never played here before (And they probably will not do that again either). Those bands had attracted a major audience in ANY town!!! And in Kalmar, perhaps 100-150 people showed up! (And don't get me wrong, we are really, really, greatful to all of you who showed up, and proved that there are at least some people interested in Rock n' Roll in this crappy town..) But the rest of the population, well, fuck off! I don't wanna hear any of you EVER complain 'notning ever happens here' again...because if it does not, it is all your own fault.

We've been to the bleedin' capital! Now that may not seem very impressive... However, if you are somewhat into geographics, you should know this; from Kalmar in the countryside were we live our miserable lifes, it is 400 kilometers to the capital of Sweden Stockholm. So, we've been driving 800 kilometers to play 1 gig. Meaning we spent round 10 hours on the road to play 30 minutes. That, my dear friends, is commitment! And, above all, it was raining, and raining like hell, all the way back home... In my opinion, it would be much better if we concentrated the Swedish population (something like 9 million people) in one place, and then we could turn the rest of the country into a nature reservation. Would save us culture-workers a lot of time! And, it would indeed be very enviromentaly-friendly as well! Something for our dear goverment to deal with... Anyway, it was a great gig, and sure worth the travelling, and we our very happy to have had the oppurtunity to play a gig with Lucien before they disbanded. We would also like to give our warm support to Club Probation, very nice people and the basement at Snövit is a brilliant place for rock n'roll! I've checked the list of autum-gigs booked, and there are a lot of great bands. Go and check them out! Next weekend we are playing Hultsfred, and that is something like 250 kilometers drive, there and back home, a piece of cake... Cheers Jane D.

So, we've done yet another one! Great party, and, as always, we would like to thank everyone who turned up! We've added some fresh photos of the band and some of the audience, more to come in the next few days. (Thank you Steven, Evil Henrik and Maria for focusing on taking photos instead of drinking beer).
Lots of fun, lots of beer, and all in all a brilliant evening! And you who couldn't attend, don't go breakdown, there will be more gigs to come!
love Jane Doe

Especially we would like to thank Evil Henrik and Tilda for taking a lot of great pictures, Tobbe for creating a perfect sound out of our noise! So, we've been in cyberspace for almost 3 weeks! A lot of people, for sure a whole lot more then we had ever expected, has found there way to our site! A million fanx for paying attention! And perhaps the best of all, we've suddenly got a whole lot of friends out there! They're ALL equally appriciated! Still, I would like to shortly mention a few;
The Guilty Pleasures & The King Blues, fantastic bands from GB. Check them out at the anual Rebellion festival! In Blackpool, be there or be square...
Rat Patrol from Holland! Never heard of before, a pleasent new experience! And seem to be very nice guys too. :)
Zooparty, they're Swedish, still I never heard of them before... (I'm obviously a total dinosaur when it comes to music...) Highly recommended!
The Areola Treat! From Malta! We didn't even know there were bands there! Up till now. Check them out!
The Moxy from the US, really good tunes and nice people!
Wrong Channel, also Swedish, ought to be the next Sahara Hotnights!
Cure the Disaster, GB, brilliant, and nice guys too. And Dirty Royals, also GB, great and catchy popsongs!
The Strychnine Babies, US, raaaaaw!!!!
First Class Ticket from germany, great pop-punk-stuff!
And a whole bunch of great bands from Eastern Europe!
Well, keep it up out there, if it continues like this, we will for sure overdose on Rock n'Roll!

Check Day21 out! J Pursey's back... More Sham than ever... And then, you may say, why the hell should we care? Because Sham69 was one of the first real street-punk-bands! (Ok, ok, the Sparrer-boys, yes, 1973...) . Sham established a whole new standard for Punk rock, and should be considered as one of the most important bands EVER! It's a fact maaaan!!! The live-side on there first LP is STILL, after 30 years, perhaps the best sing-along-ever! If ya' haven't heard it, you ain't heard nothing!

Current mood:  pretty
First of all I must say, I'm quite surprised that so many people already has found this site, and obviously bothered to listen to the stuff. It's only been up for like 2 days, and there has been nearly 800 visits! We believed the site would drown in the ever-growing range of music, and that the only ones visiting it would be some of our mates. (After we threatened them with asorted wickedness if not checking it out). Some people has also commented the stuff, and we always appreciate feedback, no matter if it is positive or a slag-off. Worst thing is people not having any opinion whatsoever! About anything! Anyway, one bloke wondered if we had filed it as 'Punk' by mistake? According to him it didn't sound much like The Explioted, so how could it be Punk? First of all, it's up to everybody to make there own definition of Punkrock. Some 2 or 3 years ago, there was a guy standing right beside me at the anual Blackpool festival (if yo haven't been there, go there!) while Ari Up was playing, and he was mighty upset, because it was NOT PUNKROCK! What the hell are they doing here!?! It's bloody jazz! I came to see some punkrock!!! Once again, it's up to you to define what is Punk and what is not... However, I think you somehow miss the whole idea with Punkrock, if the definition is that narrow. When I got into this, a thousand years ago, in 1977, you couldn't play in a band if you hadn't been playing for like 15 years...and the only bands that got anywhere near to play a gig, was the likes of Pink Floyd or The Who. Extremely boring indeed. The whole idea about Punk, was that ANY ONE could play in a band! No matter if you could play or not, you learned! The idea was not to establish a ceartain sound, and the point was not that people played BECAUSE they couldn't actually play. They played DESPITE they couldn't play, and because it was fun! If the definition of a Punkrock-musician would be a person that can not play, then the whole thing would be a bit temporary, because even if you're not extremely talented, you will learn to play decent in a year or so... I mean, Phil Collins has learned to play! How could anybody fail... Back in those days you could go and see bands like The Jam, Eddie & the Hot Rods, The Stranglers, you name it, and it was PUNK! It's about attitude and your approach to playing, not whether you can play or not, or if it sounds like The Exploited... (Don't get me wrong, I actually like The Exploited). That's why we've filed it under Punk... If you been into it for 31 years, it's a bit late to change now! (A statement I actually nicked from Arthuro Bassick...I hope he doesn't mind). By the way, if You haven't seen The Lurkers, go and check them out! They're better than ever! Same goes for 999, were he also does the base-thing nowadays...since 15 years or something... And, get a copy of his book; Fat blooke, thin book', great fun! Also the original Lurkers-drummer Pete Haynes, has resently written a book called 'God's lonely men' about the early years with The Lurkers. (He is thinner, but the book is thicker). Great stuff! Enough! This turned into an advertisment!!!
