Whether you’re new to the blog or returning, thank you for being here.
I hope you have a great time this month. I have a lot of awesome stuff
lined up and Maximum, Ian’s seeing-eye dog is going to help out along
the way. If you have any questions, just ask and he’ll guide you.
So here’s how this is going to work. Someone will be posting
something here every day for the month of October. Some days will be
short, some long, some posts will be from me and others will be from
guests. The one consistent theme throughout the month is Saturdays.
Saturdays are going to be Giveaway Saturday. Prizes will start out
small and build up as we go. I have a few that are set in stone and I
may be tossing in other goodies as we go. There’s also the possibility
of more prizes from the guest bloggers.
Prizes include:
~ ARCs (Advanced Reader Copy) of SOUNDS TO DIE BY
~ Sensory baskets with some awesome cocoa butter lotion, candles, chocolate, and a SOUNDS TO DIE BY
~ An autographed copy of Wendy Lyn Watson’s I SCREAM YOU SCREAM
~ SOUNDS TO DIE BY tote bag
~ A gorgeous memory box with a photo album, journal and more
~ A new Simplicit.E.Reader pre-loaded with several books. (Check out the reader here.)
~ And possibly more prizes, though I’m most excited about the eReader.

That’s right, I have my ARCs for SOUNDS TO DIE BY and I’m giving one away. There are rules, but they’re simple.
1. Comment here before 9:00 am Central time tomorrow morning (Wednesday).
2. Tell me what caught your interest about the story.
3. Be willing to read the ARC before the book releases on October
13th and talk about it online. Tell me in the comments where you’ll be
talking about it. Facebook, MySpace, BookPlace, Twitter, a blog…they
all count. I’m not interested in trying to control what you say about
the book (other than asking that you do not give away spoilers), but I
would like to know when you’ve posted.
4. Tell me which eBook format you prefer in case you win.
5. Go to www.nikkiduncan.com/blog to comment and be entered.

It’s been a busy few days, but I've gotten a lot accomplished. I've even gotten some widgets created for Sounds to Die By. Visit my website to see them all.
They were fun for me, but now I have some fun for you. A contest!
It’s going to run for the length of September and it’s very easy.
1. Sign
up for my newsletter (through my website www.nikkiduncan.com and your name goes in the hat (current members are
already entered.)
2. Help me spread the word about my book (tweet links
with @NDUNCANWRITER, post my excerpt widget someplace),
let me know what you’ve done and where and your name goes in the hat.
3. Follow me on Twitter (new followers go in the hat).
The prize will be an autographed tote bag.
~Autographs include Nora
Roberts, JR Ward, Sylvia Day, Shayla Black, Shiloh Walker, Jules
Bennett, Maya Banks, Rosemary Clement Moore, Candace Havens, Bella
Andre, Roxanne St Claire, Eve Silver, Toni Blake, Eden Bradley. Susan

Jax Cassidy and more.
~The bag is stuffed with goodies including some
autographed books from Misa Ramirez, Jules Bennett, and Dakota Cassidy.
And hey, I’m writing a sensory series so there will be something in
there to please your senses.
Now, if you wanna play, you must email what you've done to contests@nikkiduncan.com. I'm not very good at checking MySpace emails so you may get missed if you email me here. Besides, if you email me at contests@nikkiduncan.com it's easier for me to contact you if you win.
And stay tuned to see what I’ve cooked up for
October to celebrate the release. It’s going to be a blast!

So mark your calendars for
October 13th! I’m planning an online celebration because this is not
only my release day, it’s my 15th wedding anniversary.
Rookie FBI Agent Kieralyn Beckett is in a delicate position. Her
team refuses to buy into her theory that a string of kidnappings is
connected. If she pushes too hard, they’ll discover the latest victim
was her college roommate and boot her off the case. A garbled recording
is the only evidence, and there’s only one man who can decipher it. The
hard part will be convincing him to take the case.
Blinded as a child, NSA “listener” Ian Cabrera spends the majority
of his time analyzing data while secretly searching for his father, a
missing CIA operative. His plate is full, but Kieralyn’s passion and
determination, as well as the erotic beat of her heart, spark his
interest. So does the mention of his father’s code name on her
recording.
There’s only one way to follow this new crumb-trail of clues without
tipping her off about what he’s really after. Convince her she needs
him to be her undercover partner, despite his handicap. Between her
eyes and his ears, they make one beautifully orchestrated team. Every
time they touch, though, the arousal they generate creates one red-hot
element of distraction…

I’ve been getting these strangest headaches lately when I’ve been at
the computer a long time. I can actually feel my brain tingle, or the
nerves just under the skin or something. Either way, it’s an all
encompassing tingling that soon makes me dizzy and leads to a killer
headache. It’s weird, I know. It’ll surprise no one that knows me well
because they all say how weird I am.
In other news, I want to make sure everyone (writers) knows that
I’ll be kicking off my first online workshop Monday morning. Misa
Ramirez and I will be taking over Candace Havens’ workshop for a
marketing and promo workshop. Maybe I’ll see you there!
