(As posted to the Does LiveJournal.) So..... I've been avoiding updating with what's going on, because..... we don't all really know! Neddal is back in NF. Me and Nicole and Alex are still working on Nice Cat stuff and hope to record some of that soon, and Alex is still working on Black Wolves material, and Liisa is still writing and gothing out. Our U.K. connection tried really really hard to do up a release and just couldn't get the distribution necessary to make it worthwhile. It seems that the world economy along with digital music has hit small record labels pretty hard and, well, I have to admit: we're not very good at selling ourselves or actually hustling to release our stuff! We might or might not do some stuff with/for an Australian friend of Neddal's, but I don't know what's up with that! So! The future of the Does? We're still here. (Or, well, some of us are here and some of us are there!) We still have new ideas. We want to do things, we're just not sure what. Neddal will be in TO again soon and we're talking about What Should We Do? I voted to record new material over playing shows, but that's only my personal vote. We'll probably take to the rehearsal room with a 4 track and do up some lo-fi stuff. What will we do with new material? No idea! Any suggestions? What should we do with our previous recording? It's got some awesome songs on it, some of which are, of course, on our myspace. We could probably send you a copy or some MP3s or something if you ask us! - C.

The Does are now on New Music Canada.
Neddal is still on one coast and Alex on the other, and we hope everyone has had a good holiday and has a great New Year!
We'll have some songs on a Toronto bands compilation out in the U.K. this year. Details soon-ish!

.... and, uh, candy?!
So. Devils Night! Our first show with Liisa! Who said, "I didn't make nearly as many mistakes as I thought I would." She rocked!
Nicole and Alex and I dressed as devils. Liisa was a nun. Neddal was Warren Ellis. The Bad Seed, not the comic book guy!
Set list:
White Dress Ice + Snow Liquor Me Up Happy Ending Gunfighter Devils Night Shake And the Fog Rolls in and we ended with a cover of Nick Cave's Babe I'm on Fire
We hope to do it again after the holidays are over and done with, so don't be shy if you want us on a show! Leave us a message here or find us on Facebook.
Now we all get to hold our breaths until we find out who America votes for!

Calling all devils!
Because our show is on Devils Night, we've decided that:
Devils get in free!
Devils in devil costume only, please!
You don't get in for free just by being a sexy devil!
Non-devils pay $5!

The Devils Night show at Smiling Buddha is shaping up quite nicely!
We're thinking of these set times:
10 PM: In Support of Living
10:45 PM: the Assistants
11:30: the Does
And, much more exciting... we will have a new Doe in the ranks!
Liisa will be on keys! Come say hello to her!
