Back in December 2008... I got a e-mail from the Warner Bros. Music office in the U.K. that they wanted to buy a picture I had taken about 4 years ago to use on the new single by the band called PENDULUM titled SHOWDOWN , it's from the bands latest CD as I'm writing this called... 'In Silico' from 2008 .

The band just had a small U.S. tour in March 2009 and was on the Jimmy Kimmel late night TV show... so far they have used the photo they got from me on the CD single ( I found out they didn't sell the CD single in store's only by internet by downloading it so there's no pix used on it ) , but it was used on the bands new 12” Picture Disc Vinyl release ( it's super looking ) that just came out about the first week of February 2009 . It would have been great if they could have stopped in Philadelphia on this U.S. tour... go to the bands web site and or their My Space profile to see more INFO about the band... plus give a listen to the bands music and check out the bad ass video for the SHOWDOWN single... the music is like a club / industrial / electronic / rock style .
I am very proud to have a photo of mine used on this item... hey who knows maybe it will show up on a tee shirt...  my name will live in infamy in England !!

The photo was only used on a Limited Edition 12" Vinyl Picture Disc Record... Warner Bros. sent me 10 copys , and it looks great !

If I have a video of your band... get it NOW , try and stop by and pick up your FREE video on a DVD disc that I may have shot of your band , e-mail me at LenKnee at comcast dot net so I know your coming to pick it up and to get my phone number and address... I am in the 19137 zip area , a block or two from the Betsy Ross bridge near N.E. Philadelphia . The video is here waiting for you , come and get it... just call before you stop , message me and I'll give you my number !!!
Below will be the date of the show with the venue and the bands I taped... in most case's it will not be your bands whole set , most video's are about 15 to 20 minutes long with some being longer or shorter depending how many bands played the gig and or how much video tape and or battery power I have left . 
I hope to upgrade to a hard drive camcorder one day if I ever get some extra cash , the one I use now needs the heads cleaned too much plus I keep buying tapes .

If there is a "X" next to the bands name , that mean's they got their DVD video disc from me or I gave it to someone to give the band the video . I do not like doing that... I rather I was the one who gave you the disc so I know you got it and not leave that responsibility to someone else .
Hey... if I tape some more show's in the future , I will update the list of bands / shows as a blog and or a bulletin .

I tried 3 time's to post this as a bulletin , butt... My Freaking Space keep's playing games... I may just keep trying to post this BLOG as a bulletin until it works , so I am sorry if you got to read this already !

Hello everyone , Just to let you know ( if anyone really care's ) I posted some new... old pictures from rock concerts I have taken photo's at back a long , long , long time ago... the late 70's in which case make's me OLD . I have a few posted on the slide show on my profile page above my top friends list , but most of the pictures are in "My Photo Album" , go to the 2nd LINK below here and they will be in the 2nd ALBUM on the last page there... I believe its page 9 , you can copy and paste the link below if you like , but make sure its all one word when you put it in your address bar / search box because My Space puts "spaces" in other web site links .
These Photo's are about 30 years old... some older , they were not in the best shape as i see they are fading and just not holding up condition wise over the years... plus they were never really that good anyway , sometime's having to take picture's from 200 yards away with 5,000 crazy , nut's , high , drunk fan's on the Spectrum floor in Philly back between 1976 and 1980 . A couple pictures were taken with what was called a 110 pocket camera... now thats old .

The is just a BLOG to let some of the local bands on my friends list know that I have a couple video's of show's they did in the last few months , there is a list below here of the bands . Most of the video's are short , maybe 15-20 minutes... for the most part if there were 3 or 4 bands on the gig , I just used a hour long DV mini tape and tried to give each band equal time . One or two show's I seen only had 2 bands so maybe each band got about a 1/2 hour of video . Just remember I am new to the world of video taping and these video's that I recorded to a DVD disc are done by a non-pro... aka ME , L.A.Ives . 
Some parts of the video's look pretty good while other parts look dark because of the club's low light's... they are best viewed on a TV screen when played from your DVD player , when viewed on a computer screen or when they are posted on My Space and or YouTube... they maybe tend to look darker . It all depends on the clubs lights or where a band member was performing on stage , as for the sound... I tried to stay somewhere in the middle so I would get equal sound from both sides of the sound system . Also sometimes there may have been fans of the band... or just drunk people walking in front of the camera or there may have had a large group of fans that made me point the camera at a wall or the floor all of a sudden because they got in the way of me shooting .
There were 3 show's in 3 weeks that I went to that did not come out because... believe IT or NOT because of the brand of mini DV tapes I had gotten . I got a four pack of TDK brand mini DV tapes and used two of them at 3 shows and everything I taped came out crappy... the picture was "scramble / distorted" and the screen on my video camera told me I needed the tape heads cleaned... and thats with only my camcorder having about 25 hours of use to it ( half of that was recording and half playing back ) . Well after buying a mini tape head cleaner... it didn't help , so I want back to square one... I said to myself what was the difference between now and when the camcorder was recording with no problems... and everything pointed to the brand of tapes , I open 2 of the 4 tapes to use just because I was thinking maybe it was just one bad tape in the pack so I opened a second tape and had the same trouble... I didn't see the sense of opening the other 2 because I wasn't going to another show thinking I am taping the bands just to find out its not recording right . Well the only reason I got the TDK was because Target was sold out of the brands I was using... aka Sony and Maxell . So I went to Target and got the Sony brand and BAM... double BAM... the camcorder was working !
A lot of people think I am or was telling them a bullshit story about those 3 show's and the tape brands... all I can say is my JVC mini DV camcorder is video taping again with Sony and or Maxell tapes but did not with TDK brand ( well OK they did tape but without a viewable picture ) . By the way I gave TDK hell by phone and they say the will replace the tapes .
Ok this started out as a BLOG but now has become a book , so look below for the list of bands I video taped and if you haven't already gotten a copy of the video on a DVD disc , just reply back to me ( Ken from Se7en Heads did take 4 or 5 video's to get to bands he was playing a gig with , so hopefully those bands have their copy ) .

I just posted a message I got from a friend on here that I haven't seen or talk with in awhile and I just wanted to share it with you all... it just make's the good things you try to do in life worth wilded when you get feedback like this below... thanks Joe for the message below !
 
Just read your blog... Those guys are dead on man . You did a hell of a lot for the not so... for lack of a better word , "normal" youth in the area . There aren't many people like you out there man . I always looked forward to stopping buy on Saturdays with Jeff to grab some new shit and BS about music , it was like Christmas when i stopped by there , even if you didn't have what i was looking for , you always had some really interesting shit to talk about... and that meant the world .
There weren't a ton of metal heads in the neighborhood back then , but i always knew i was in good company when i stopped by . If there is anything i can ever do just say the word man . Unfortunately i'm not playing out or with a band right now... maybe soon , so i cant throw a benefit for you but I am doing web development for a living now so if you ever need a website or anything like that just let me know and I'll take care of you man .
Keep doing what your doing as long as you love it , you inspire a lot of kids out there to follow their dreams . I lost sight of that for a while but things are starting to come together again and just around that time i hear from you . That is no coincidence... take care of yourself and let me know if you need anything... don't hesitate to call or email man , talk to you later..... Joe

I’m 2 old 4 this shit... I’m moving up to the eastside like the Jefferson’s , where’s Wheezy when I need her... I want a piece of the pie ?

My eye’s are not the same at my age as they were when I was a little younger... plus with having type 2 diabetes I need my reading glasses alot more now .

I’m just having a hard time editing picture’s anymore... so I am cutting back or going to stop taking band pictures .

When I say I’m moving on up to the eastside , it’s just a joke on word’s / theme song from that old TV show called The Jeffersons... what I mean is I hope to move up to something that will be better for me to enjoy going to show’s . I will be moving on up to video hopefully once I get to know what I’m doing... the first show I shot was at the M Room . There were 8 bands and I took a video of each band doing one song each... when I viewed the tape later I had seen I only had 4 of the bands... plus I screwed up taping it in "widescreen" , some how I guess I was thinking I was recording when I was still stuck on pause... sounds like my life story .

Well my 2nd show of bands I ever shot was at Sweeney’s Saloon in N.E. Philadelphia on 3-6-08 , I am having trouble uploading this video... I burned it to a DVD , it’s taped in full screen format and looks a lot better then my first try at the M Room... I need to find out how to get a bands video uploaded to My Space or just on to my PC so I can post it somewhere . I am new at this video shit , so send HELP or money !!!

One more reason to post a BLOG... Below I have posted a comment that I got recently ( Feb. 2007 ) from Ray and his band called Absolute Hatred here in Philadelphia .

I just have to say that after a car accident I was in on October 12 , 2006 that had me in the Hospital for 6 nights because of a infected leg... that I am alot better . I just have to watch show's where I get my legs kicked because of moshing or being pushed into a Barber's Chair's like the one at the Barbary Night Club... because I have Diabetes and my legs get infected easy from bumps and or small cuts . I hope to get back to seeing some show's in the Philly area soon... my eyes are not what they use to be because of my Diabetes ( trouble editing photo's because of my poor vision... but I can still see a pretty girl when she walks by ) . So I hope that I can move on from a still camera to a Video Camera soon... and still help out the local music scene .

My Van is still not allowed on the road because my van's title was turned into a salvage title until its fixed and certified by the State to get my regular title back... we both only had the "No Fault" Insurance so no one could sue anyone... she was at fault and I got 1500 to get my Van fixed , but it will cost 2500 to fix so thats way the Insurance company said my Van was a total lost... I still drive it in my 'hood but can't go far or drive at night . So when I get it fixed and get my title back... you all in the Philly area my see me again at some show's .

But with all the PICTURE'S and Band Promoting I've been doing for the last 5 years or so ( free of charge I must say ) , I have had people my age ask me WHY ??? . Well I have asked myself that a few time's , one reason is because I love taking picture's plus I like to see young people with talent get somewhere . Then one reason that never came to mind was what Ray from Absolute Hatred wrote and posted in a comment to me that I just had to share... this below is what really make's all that I may have done in the past worth it , THANKS to RAY for the super kind words below !!!

Hey , its been awhile... just to let everyone know that doesn't already know , I got a NEW dell computer with the cash I got from everyone that came to my _ _th surprise birthday party !!!

I like to thank 2 Local Artist for playing at my birthday party , they are Jack McTamney and Paul Tomczak... these dude's played 4 hour's non-stop , well OK Paul had to go pee with 15 minutes left... they played 4 hour's , and wouldn't take any money for this birthday gig... now they are what you call true friends . I will never be able to thank them enough , the same goes to my Family that gave me the party and for my friends who came . If I was throwing a party for myself... all My Space friends would have been invited !!!

Well all that was back in April , so now i can start back editing Band pictures and try selling off all my music item's from my old flea market place... don't forget I still have 100's of CD's and T-shirts , stickers , patches , pins all kinds of goodies !!!

No Can Do... Can't C My Screen... 5 year old LCD / notebook

Believe it or not... i am typing this almost in the FREAKING dark !!!
This may be the last time i get to go to My Space for a while , my LCD screen i am told is going... aka dying !!!
My screen as been looking a little dim lately and the 2 bottom corners have dark spots in them... and after about 3 minutes , right after it loads windows and my desk top appears... the screen goes FREAKING black !!!
Well lets say very dark... if i put a light close to my screen i can see alittle... so i have been trying to read my e-mails and go to My Space or where ever i need to surf on the web and i can't really see a FREAKING thing !!!
All i want is my notebook to work and sex... i guess i can forget the sex and have to go out and get a new PC !!!
Every one be COOL... have fun , be safe... and i hope to get back in touch... in more ways then one if i'm lucky... very soon...

Hello My Space friends , just to let you all know... as if any one really cares , my notebook LCD screen is about to go... its on its way out !!!
