Hi friends,
Wanted to let ya'll know we have a new album coming out.
It's something I've been wanting to do for a few years and finally I was able to do it.
With some help from my friends.
All the songs are my dads songs.
Not to many people know my dad wrote songs for me when I was with Eddie,
Vida, and now on my own.
So I wanted to pay tribute to the man that gave me my start and prepared me for the music business.
The name of the album is Homenaje A Mi Padre
I did new songs that he has in his catalog and one that you have heard before for the exception of us doing it in it's original arrangement.
I'm very excited about the project because of the ease we had recording it.
It was engineered mixed and recorded by GRAMMY nominated engineer Jose Gonzalez.
He's an awesome professional to work with.
It's a conceptual album and I included several styles in the record.
Conjunto old school, estilo Alegres de teran conjunto, even did one that sounds norteno but thats how my dad recorded it in the 50's so that was the sound of conjunto back then which is interesting.
We did a bolero that sounds kind of rockish a song that fits the album perfectly
it's mi querido viejo.
We also included commentary from my dad as I interviewed him about being in the business, the road, me and music in the beginning, and his advise to us musicians in the biz.
I can't wait for ya'll to check it out look for it....
