This Sat (July 1). marks our 2 year and a couple of days anniversary with OMFUG. Monday Eve June 21, 2004 we over here remember the night and gig well. The weekend that fell before had us all out together doing big Promo. We hit up the Summer Stage (all 6 of us and a couple more somehow got in or should we say around and over and then in), the Vill, downtown BK and etc... this was our biggest and only all in together hit the streets Promo push. We had the ill fliers made by Miguel and bad ass flick from Undercover Magazine (UK) we were hype. Why? Huh?What? Because after playing all over the City, UK, CA and PR we were going to do it big at CBGBs. Every musician jamming with the radio and jumping on his or her bed thinks about playing at CBGBs. It was our turn. We were honored. CBGB's wants us to play on the main stage. So what if the gig was on a Mon (ouch) at 11pm (nooo). So what its an audition night (blahhh). We are gonna treat it like its the big gig in the sky. We even recruited 7 camera people to document the event and a Videographer (Trevor www.eklectyk.com) to put together a video (the original trailer is in the video section of our myspace). The time came to hit the stage. We got their early and loaded up from the alley. After we got our gear in an employee of the spot started riffin about "we dont load up from there and that has not been done in 20 years etc.". Dude was tight not as tight as we are. We kept it moving. Getting our stuff together and bringing things on stage. There was other bands and other heads back stage. Mind you the walls back there look like if you lean on them you will get SARS. Some terrible law breaker and renegade started smoking some of that sweet sweet cheeba. Hey I dont know. Security came back and started going crazy. The culprit was never apprehended. The place was empty when we got there yet by the time our gear (our drum set, our mics and rigs ) was set up the place was packed. I mean it was ridiculous, people everywhere. The fliers and the promo method must have worked. To bad we dont like things that work. We started playing, the place was rockin and the people were kickin more ass than us. Jumping off tables climbing on each other it was nuts. The energy in that spot will always be in our memories. It was so bannanas that at the end of the set mics were flying and members of the group jumped into and smashed up the drum set. The show ended and all were pleased, maybe not all. The fire marshal came at the end to make sure there wasnt a problem or too many people. Then the sound man started screaming at us about the drums and mics (our stuff). A member of the group felt this was uncalled for and asked if the tech would like to talk outside. Another member politely (I swear)asked for a drink and the bartender started screaming at him "its rude to speak to a person when their back is turned" (thanx for the lesson). Another very sweaty member asked for water he was told that the bar is closed. Mind you the place was still full and only CBGBs made money that night. We received zed. If you ever drive down Bowery you have seen the crowds of mohawks and studded jackets out there. That crowd gets photographers and punk rock revivalists our crowd got the cops. The door person said that that was the most people he has seen there in a long time and the most on  Monday (yeah Monday is the new Thursday). We figured we would be called back for a gig. No call no card no flowers. Two months later a well known NYC promoter had a date there and wanted to put us on. They told him Game Rebellion has been banned from CBGBs. This has happened again and again. People have done all types of craziness in their and became famous. Maybe they did not have enough staff that night or did not know that the band and the people go hard. Or maybe they have not seen that many Brothers and Sisters in there since Malcolm and Martin were trading guitar licks on the stage. Well the ban has been lifted for now. Once again we learned that "WE HAVE NO HOME"

It's True, Bush doesn't care about Black people. But, so what? Black people don't care about Black people.
If we're gonna talk about how bad Bush is and how he's the Devil, why the fuck would we want him to care about us? And further more, My Hood is Fucking Disgusting and thats not Bush's fault. There's trash on the grouond everywhere, and I know all the fucking psychological reasons why we disassociate ourselves from our environment but it's still bullshit. Just throw the trash in the trash. The garbage in my neighborhood is picked up 3x a week, so it's not that the system is fuckin us, we're just being LAZY. I don't see birds flying, I see Black plastic bags from the bodega & Newspapers flying in circles. How did those black bags get there? is it a conspiracy? do the Bodega owners throw bags out the little spinning glass windows when no ones around? and when the fuck is no one around? my niggas is out there all night, how come they ain't see nothing?
I love my people but we got some shit we need to do b4 we start expecting other ma'fuckas to love and care about us....

For all the artists, activists, musicians, poets & MC's - it is time to put in work. Stop complaining. Stop talking about what you 'bout to do. Look at the people on the television. The people who are shaping the world we live in are all working. Bill O'Reilly, working. The video girls - in the gym everyday. Kanye West, arrogant you say, who cares - in the studio every day for years. The whole Republican Party, the Mormon Church, everyone in the NBA or NFL, everyone on MTV, everybody you hear on Hot 97, WORKS!! Study. Plan. Work. Repeat.

That's what it is..................................................................

Back from the Wild Wild Midwest - Iowa! Thanx to all the Rebels who supported us at all of the shows, Crash Mansion, SOB'S, at the Hip-Hop Convention in Iowa, & Restoration Plaza as part of the Brooklyn New Music Fest.
