NSU Spring Fest - April 5, 2009
 
My trip to Natchitoches LA went very well... Every semester Lifted Voices, the Northwestern State University (NSU) Gospel Choir, hosts a program in which choirs, praise teams, and praise dancers from other colleges come and lift up the name of GOD together. A few friends and I were called up to do whatever it is God lay on our hearts to do and we did just that!

I believe a lasting impression was left, and most importantly, quite a few hearts were touched by the Holy Spirit. As the program came to a close, the Lifted Voices Gospel Choir surprised me with a framed Certificate of Participation which was a very nice gesture if I may say so myself. Once the program came to an end, refreshments were served and the performers as well as the audience members fellowshipped together. It was truly a blessing to be found in a place with so many individuals in my age bracket, praising God.

EDT. I hope that you enjoy the Remix. God is so good! Even if I don’t win, I’m
very humbled and honored by this entire process and the support I’m receiving.

[Black Grove 401 Records, LLC signs new R&B singer / musician “DSYL”]


Wednesday, March 11, 2009- Black Grove 401 Records, LLC is pleased to announce the official exclusive recording signing of an astonishing new artist from Opelousas, LA.

On February 19, 2009, David L. Sylvester, Jr., now professionally known as DSYL (pronounced “dee-zuhl”) signed with the popular Houston based label Black Grove 401 Records, L.L.C. located in Houston, Texas.

DSYL is an aspiring 21 year old singer, songwriter, musician and actor and is currently an active student at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA where his major is Music and Theatre. In addition, he recently made the Honor Roll and the Dean’s List at NSU as well as receiving standing ovations for his performances there at the college, church and local community events.

A friend of Black Grove 401 Records Stan Coleman, Jr., CEO of Black Rain Entertainment met David through a mutual family member. Mr. Coleman was literally blown away from hearing DSYL perform.  Mr. Coleman immediately contacted Kompari Rudison, CEO of Black Grove 401 Records and informed her of his discovery. Soon thereafter, Mr. Coleman arranged for DSYL and his family to travel to Houston, Texas to meet with the label executives.

Upon meeting, there was an immediate correlation of respect and admiration for all parties involved. Although music was available for review on several CD’s, DSYL initiated that he would rather provide a live performance for label consideration. The expectations were highly met and well received. There are rare instances, such as this in which unique and gifted talents emerge, this is one of those instances. DSYL is currently in A&R development, writing and music production. DSYL is very excited to present his multi-talents to the world.

Sean McNair also known as “DK”, CEO of Fly City Entertainment, Inc. Los Angeles, CA has agreed to provide their Multi-Platinum award winning production for DSYL’S debut album release.  In addition, a list of artists’ collaboration with DSYL will be announced soon. Mike Phillips, GM of 1 Stop Graphics & Distribution, L.L.C. will provide their Grammy Award Winning graphic design by Charles Singletary and Exclusive Worldwide Distribution through 1 Stop. First and for most I would like to
thank God for the opportunity to share my gift with all who take interest in
it. It has been a dream of mine for some time now to “speak to the World”
through my lyrics and my music. I would like to thank all of you who are taking
the time to listen to what I have to say, and also those of you who think
enough of me to drop a comment on my page and/or think enough of my music to post
my songs on your personal Myspace pages. It’s truly a blessing to still be able
to attract such supportive and motivational individuals in this time period.
Although I am in the prenatal stages of my career, I plan on reaching the top
with all of your help of course, and I pray that all of you who have already
