The familiar green mask we've seen Delirious wear for years was now nothing more than a trophy for Adam Pearce and the rest of The Hangmen Three. That was the scene last time ROH was in Chicago. Now Delirious is hoping that Adam Pearce's head is his trophy this Saturday (Jan. 26th) in Chicago. It will be Pearce vs. Delirious in a Dog Collar Match in Chi-Town.
It all started in Hartford, CT on August 24th, 2007 at "Caged Rage" when BJ Whitmer turned on Delirious after a Four Corner Survival and joined Adam Pearce and Brent Albright to form The Hangmen Three. As Albright and Whitmer held Delirious down, Adam Pearce stapled the mask to the flesh of Delirious. Since this atrocious incident Delirious has been out for revenge. On October 6, 2007 in Edison, New Jersey at "Undeniable" Delirious tried to gnaw Pearce's ear off toward the end of a hard hitting six man tag. Pearce was lucky enough to escape the match with his ear still in tact, but the scars show the damage that is possible when Delirious starts to get infuriated.
Delirious continued to battle The Hangmen Three. However, he seemed to always fall short of payback as he watched allies such as Kevin Steen, El Generico, and Pelle Primeau all put out of action due to the brutality that The Hangmen Three have served. On November 30th, 2007 in Dayton, OH at "Reckless Abandon" Delirious faced Adam Pearce in a Falls Count Anywhere Match that went all over the building. It seemed Delirious finally achieved retribution. While both men were on top of the lighting scaffold Delirious made Pearce tap out to the Cobra Stretch while Pearce was hanging from the scaffold. Delirious then put his life at stake as he jumped 20 feet off the scaffold onto the other members of The Hangmen Three. It seemed like justice for the vicious attacks over the past couple of months, but the Delirious-Adam Pearce story was just about to start.
The next night in Chicago Ridge, IL Delirious was was scheduled to face Bryan Danielson, but due to weather problems the whole card was shook up and ROH presented "Unscripted 3." When BJ Whitmer got on the mic he called out anyone in the back. Delirious answered the call. Whitmer and Delirious battled all over the Frontier Fieldhouse in a wild No DQ match that came to an abrupt halt when Adam Pearce ran in with a huge chain and blasted Delirious with it in the face. He then proceeded to rip the mask of Delirious and assault him with the chain as the man in green and black bled buckets. Pearce then wrapped the chain around his neck three or four times and threw Delirious over the top rope and hung him. Delirious fought hard, tugging and pulling on the chain, but unconsciousness was close. As Delirious wheezed and choked trying to get air the blood oozed down his face and body creating a gruesome scene. Delirious was carried out and scarred for life as he was beaten in the most ruthless manor. He fought for his life after a slow and agonizing strangulation with the chain.
The cruel incident from Chicago has brought out a different side of Delirious that has never been seen before. Delirious has been seen lately wearing new red and black attire. With the color change comes an uncontrolled change of attitude, a change of personality, and a change of objective. Red Delirious has spit a poison mist into the face of The Hangmen Three that seems to be a chemical that temporarily closes the opponent's airway. It has caused the Hangmen to cough and choke as they fought to breathe much like Delirious struggled for breath as he was hung with a chain in Chicago.
On January 26th, 2008 in the same place 56 days since the incident that has caused a personality change in Delirious forever, both Adam Pearce and Delirious will be wearing dog collars that will be connected by a 15 foot steel chain. The dog collars will wrap around both wrestlers neck making it easy for both men to fall into unconsciousness by having their main arteries cut off. The chain will also undoubtedly come into play and this Dog Collar Match has the makings to be the most violent and bloody Dog Collar Match of all time.
