GREAT NEWS! Thanks to Ryan Claytor from Elephant Eater Comics I (robert forest) will be accompanying three other L.A.D.D.ies down to Genghis Con in Cleveland, OHIO on Saturday, November 28th. The Con is a Small Press Con and I am totally excited to have the opportunity to go and showcase E.G.G. Especially, to show off the artwork for the next book!

Which brings me to the next topic ... I've decided to move forward in a vastly different direction with E.G.G. The artwork is no longer going to be in an idea of making it as "Sunday Comic Strip" as I had in the past. It will still be stark Black and White and it will be familiar and have cartoon aspects ... but there will be much more of a realistic feel to the work. It feels more mature and I think it adds to the overall idea of the piece. I hope you all like it! Just to show you what the direction is ... I am going to slip you the "Speculative" cover art and finished "Speculative" cover. Don't forget to click the link under them for a higher res look!

I'd like to start off by thanking the guys from L.A.D.D. who came with me Jonathan D. Gordon, Dean Stahl, Jay Jacot, and Ryan Claytor for helping to make the trip to Columbus and back a far more pleasurable experience than it would have been without them. I'd also like to comment that I missed having Joshua D. Boeringa along side of me at the booth. E.G.G. is just as much yours as it is mine and you were notably missed. Looking forward to "Con-ing" with you in the future!

So, Mid-Ohio Con was a riot fest! I had so much fun and met so many wonderful people, special thanks to Kevin Wolf from "PANGAEA" fame and his lovely assistant Jamie Pitt who helped to make the day more fun and easier to pass the time, same goes for Brett Wood and Eric Rampson from "The Silver Bullet" and Ronin Studios... these were two of the coolest guys a man could have near him at a booth. And last but certainly not least the talented crew at Mutant Cactus : Robert Gant, Derek Watson, and Danny Cooper. It was great sitting next to you guys... great work you guys do and a lovely bunch of individuals.

I had a lot of success with the show and thanks to all the people who stopped by the E.G.G. booth to show your support to our humble little Food Noir world and view my art. Also thanks to those who had me do sketches ... the Alfred E. Newman and Yoda were great fun! Having said all of that, it was nice to wake up in my bed at home this morning with my wife and our rabbits. It's been a good day of relaxation and seeing "Zombieland" on the big screen.

-Until next time ... Oh, right ... and I am pretty sure that Joshua D. Boeringa and myself are going to be making an appearance at Fantasticon in the Emerald Theatre, 31 N. Walnut, Mt. Clemens, MI 48043 on Sunday Nov. 8th. Doors open at 11a.m. and it ends at 5p.m. Admission is $5.00. I hope to see a bunch of people out there at the show that day! -Really done now ... Robert C. I am very pleased to announce that "The Trouble With Dames" is in the can (so to speak!). I sent that bad boy off to Ka-Blam! for printing yesterday! I should (fingers crossed, everything goes right) have it back in time for MID-OHIO CON! Which brings me to my next announcement: I WILL MOST CERTAINLY BE MAKING AN APPEARANCE (sans Joshua D. Boeringa) AT MID-OHIO CON! This is great and exciting news. I'm going to be making the trek with Friends and fellow artists Jon Gordon, Dean Stahl, (I believe) Ryan Claytor, and possibly Jay Jacot (not yet 100% confirmed). This is going to be an amazing opportunity and super fun trip! You guys don't want to miss this event! So if you are able to make it down to the con do so! If you can't and want to order a copy of "The Trouble With Dames" E-mail Me (Robert Forest) via edwardggunn@gmail.com and we can make it all happen for you! Take Care my friends! -Robert Forest

So, I felt like doing a "TRIBUTE" piece to two of my favorite artists/story tellers of all time: Jack Kirby and Chester Gould! These two men are infamous and AMAZING at what they do! I only can hope that my piece does do justice to paying them my Respects!

First of all, a look at a Jack Kirby image for those who might not remember or know who he is:

Now, the exact Chester Gould piece that inspired my "MOSH-UP" piece: (I love what he is saying!)

Chester Gould's Dick Tracy

Finally, my original IMAGE that is a "TRIBUTE" to two GREAT MEN!:

I'm considering colouring the rest, but not sure if I want to yet as I am so happy with the current look of the piece. Still, Jonathon D. Gordan hooked me up with a deal that is currently taking place at Staples. So I got a bunch of new markers in a bunch of awesome colours that I'm dying to try out. So, we'll see. (Thanks again Jon!)
