What is the difference between a regular band and a Christian band? Honestly sometimes there is no difference. There are alot of bands that if I were to say to you that they are a Christian band, you would look at me like "huh?" so really in todays music scene I cant tell you what a christian band is supposed to be like. BUT, I can tell you what fairgreen believes we should be like as a Christian band. Let me go ahead and step on a few toes here and maybe even lose some friends, but a Christian is someone who lives for God and who is determine to be like Christ. Christians do not go around cussing, drinking to the point where they can't even walk, and then later on hook up with a girl. See thats not how it is, and that's not how God intended it to be.

This world is crazy, but as Christians we are beacons of light, and we are supposed to be guiding people who are in the darkness. Oh yea, and one HUGE thing that people need to know. Christians DO NOT hate people who don't have the same beliefs. Let me tell you that if you do not consider yourself to be a Christian, and someone who claims to be a christian has made you feel like crap because of the sins you have commited, then they have no clue how to be a christian. and lets get one thing straight, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of god. NOBODY has been perfect their whole life, but its by gods grace that we were able to stand up in darkness and become a man or woman of god. so if we have lived a life of sin ourselves, who are we to trash and bad talk someone who is living that life right now? its a horrible thing and i see it all the time. those type of people give christians a bad name and they need to pick up the bible themselves.

Colossians 4: 5-6 says, "be wise in the way you act with people who are not believers, making the most of every opportunity. when you talk, you should always be kind and pleasant so you will be able to answer everyone in the way you should." we as christians have to realize that its our job to show people the same thing that at one time someone showed us. i cant stand it when someone hears that fairgreen is going into a bar to play a show, and they are like, oh what kind of christian band plays in a bar? and my response to them is, how else will they hear of jesus christ? how else will they hear christian music? im not sure where the scripture is or what it says exactly so i wont quote it, but i know it says something about how we as christians are to take the gospel to all parts of the world, not just keep it to ourselves in the church.

i love what eddie james said last time he visited our church, he said the last thing we need in this world is just another christian band, but instead we need 4 warriors. so my original question is what does it mean to be a christian band? it means that we stand up in darkness to be a beacon of light to everyone who will take the time to listen. we live for the lord and because of that it comes through in our music. we try our very best to talk as the lord would talk, and walk as the lord would walk. we love everyone, whether they are a christian or not, and we would love to be able to speak with someone who would like to know more.
