The gap between Finland and New Zealand narrows thanks to this new lathe cut single from The Futurians. Therein, Dunedin's greatest primitive futurist sci-fi punk band tackles two songs from the mighty Tivol. The originals come from Tivol's debut, The Breathtaking Sounds of Tivol, released by 267 Lattajjaa as a 3" CDR in 2003 and subsequently reissued by Holy Mountain as a 12"/CD, Early Teeth, in 2005. These two songs are completely blasted in every sense of the word. Lathe released in an edition of 50 copies, with spray painted & stickered sleeves that slightly reference the original Tivol release. Manufactured by Peter King in New Zealand.

ASR004 The Futurians - 'Zenit' 3" CDr $6(USA)/$7(Canada)/$9(World)
"An unprecedented surprise from these New Zealanders. This one definitely stands out amongst the sludge-punk releases of old. Completely different approach here. The first main difference you'll notice will be the absence of any vocals. The second will be the absence of any drummer. And the third will be the absence of any common Futurianistics you've grown to know and love. Fear not, for it's just as punk-fucking-rawk as anything they've ever done...just in a different way. If you really do love them, then you will love this release. If you have yet to discover this unbelievable group, then this will definitely get you started on the wrong foot. Albeit, an unusually great one." - Nate Rulli Edition of 100.

The Futurians "Spock Ritual" CDR - $13 (US post-paid)

Spock Ritual is full of wooly jams from New Zealand Sci-Punks The Futurians.
Jump on the holodeck and beam yerself to any scuzzy punk rock club circa
1978; The Futurians are up there pumping out heavy proto-sludge on a stage
covered in tribbles: tribbles on the amps, tribbles on the drum kit,
tribbles falling from the ceiling and hanging off of audience goers' ears
(yer own included), tribbles piled up all over the microphones,
too...fuckin' tribbles everywhere! The scene is so mad, you can't help but stand
there and smile, and for the first time in a long time, you find yerself
feeling good about rock music again.

The Futurians also have releases out on fine labels such as Soft Abuse, 267
Lattajja, Digitalis/Foxglove, Pink Skulls, Psuedoarcana and many others.

Spock Ritual is limited to 300 hand-numbered copies in Deluxx packaging:
black cardstock sleeves w/ multi-colored screen printing and color-photo
inserts featuring one-out-of-four of yer favorite Futurians per copy (true
sci-geeks may want to collect them all)...topped off w/ a Japanese style
resealable poly bag.

Set your phasers to scum!

Order on-line.
Trad mail-order.

Arbor23 Futurians- "Jawohl Yoko!"
   C60  5$ppd

I was first introduced to these New Zealand shredders through the 267 Finland dudes.  NZs finest rock the boat, baby, with some of the dirtiest surf rock from either side of the equator.  This tape compiles live tracks and otherodds and ends from barnacle encrusted
clubs.  Rock and Roll with tsunami force breaks everything in its path except for the party.  Recent shred out on Foxy Digitalis and Last Visible Dog.  Cover art by Thomas Bernard on transparent paper with totally hand made tape labels.  In an edition of 50.
