Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) Spring 2010 Online registration (www.MetroED.net) begins January 11 for MAEP's Community Interest Program (CIP) and Older Adult Program. MAEP also offers courses for ESL, GED, CTE, and HS Diploma as well as over 300+ online courses.

Registration for CCOC's day classes begins January 12 at 9 am and at 5 pm for evening classes (760 Hillsdale Ave., San Jose). Day classes are open to HS students first and then adults.  Class schedules will be mailed the first week of January 2010.

 

Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) won an Award of Excellence in Multimedia Communication from the CalSPRA 2009 Excellence in Communication Contest for our DVD titled "What is Career Technical Education at CCOC."

The video was filmed and produced by Central County Occupational Center's (CCOC's) Video Production class at the request of State Senator Tom Torlakson.  Senator Torlakson played the video across the state and in front of the Senate as an example of a successful career-technical education center.    The "What is CTE at CCOC" video can be viewed on our website at http://www.metroed.net/video.html or on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iX24ACGowE

The Fall MetroED Schedule of Classes will be available sometime during the last week of July. Check out our website at http://www.MetroED.net for the latest information.  August registration dates for CCOC and MAEP will be announced soon.  High School Students should register through their high school counselor.

Congratulations to CCOC students Prescott Dorius, Mario Mazzella, Jamie Wancewicz and Michael Conniff for being named the best in the state in their field at the April SkillsUSA State Competition. The four Gold medalists will move onto the National Competition in Kansas City in June!

High School Students!!! Are you a Junior or Senior (or will be in the Fall)?  Now is the time to see your High School Counselor to register for Central County Occupational Center (CCOC).  Come to CCOC for half of your day and attend your home high school for the other half of the day. 

CCOC credits count toward your high school graduation requirements and most classes at CCOC even have college credit at local community colleges!
