What's up people?

Well, if myspace can get its player working right, got 3 new songs for ya.  One is brand spanking new, 'Natural Disasters', which was forced upon by Hurricane Ike.  The other two are mixes of 2 (of 3) songs that were the last Freedom Sold songs from 12/04.

Would love some feedback (pun!)....

It's been a while, but it seems that an Ike evacuation brought Kwam and Art together, and while Kwam ran seeking lights and gas, he and Art have conjured up "Natural Disaster." Could this mean more new material, is this  the beginning of a new pause to continue the 4 year hiatus, is the hiatus over, does Kwam have lights at his house, will his wife be mad that this song is taking so long to record? These and other questions will soon be answered? Josh Howard is America!!!!

Tonight we play with The Cocker Spaniels and some other bands. It will be good (I tell myself), but will the people be prepared. No rain today, so far. Me likes. I love Bjork, like I love lamp. Freedom Sold make new album? Not yet. But we will do a new song tonight about the president of the united states, it will be patriotic in a way, like in a Fuck The Police kind of way. We have a lot of new friends on the my space, you like our sound clips, wait 'til you see our (oh), you will never get enough. Heh, heh. That's a pretty dated pop culture reference. Anybody here like Battles, yeah they're awesome, I like that one song with the sound and the stuff. OK, well I hope those of you who can see us, come out, and witness the spectacle, however, if you can't make it, we will play again between now and the future...WAYWARD HO!!!!!!!!!

Soon we will play. Will it be good? Cocker Spaniels have beckoned for our our arrival. It should be a loose affair, crackles and buzz. Maybe people will come, as we haven't manipulated the broken devices in a while. The dust has risen, hopefully it will not clog the inputs. There is the hope for rain, but not on july 25th. Starburst jellybeans will ruin me. Independence day...hooray!!!

Hello all. How's it going? Nope. No shows yet. I don't know, maybe soon. We broke some stuff at our last show, and we need to buy new stuff. I know, I know. We didn't spend it all on weed. We got drunk too, and I'm supporting a stripper's kids. Cool. Good talking you too. See you later...

What it is people. we got a show coming up on the 15th. Please go and support us, and buy our CDs if you haven't already. Many of the songs a e previewed on this very site, and they sound better in your car, or on your home stereo. We're reasonable with the prices and the prices are negotiable if you are convincing. We have some new songs, they may come out, or maybe not, we need money for that type of thing, but maybe we'll come out with a mixtape like the Dip Set (dip set, dip set, dip set, owww!). I ran into my homeboy Cozmos last night, he produced two songs on our last CD (The Pose, This Life), he's the most under rated producer in the city. He'd moved to New York and he's back, but supposedly, is going back (you never know with Coz). but, he told me great stories of Lesbian barbers and science. It was great. K-wammy "I love lamp."

Current mood:  contemplative
Here we go, 2005. What to do, what to say...hmm?? 2004 was a monster of a year. More bad than good, double that. Time to bust out the checklist and timeline's, resolutions ain't shit. We'll still be fat, and drinking and smoking too much. A question was once posed, "where do you see yourself, what do you see yourself doing?" Admittedly it was hard to answer that without a bit of sarcasm, cynicism, and make-believe optimisim. But as i grew older, pessimism seemed more my style, sadly. And while i thought i was being funny, the fact was i didn't know (how funny is that?) That may be cool at 18-21, but not when you are closer to 30. Life as a struggling artist can get you down. "Do you sell-out, or don't sell out?" "Do you quit and get a job or do you keep it going?" It's really hard in a city like Houston. Hell, any city when you have standards and integrity. Though it is a little sad when 8 years later you find yourself in the same place (thank you wu), accolades or not. Unfortunetly this seems all too much of a reality for the people in this city. Well, its 2005 now. It's time to move it or lose it. I really feel that this city was blessed to have a band like Freedom Sold. However, no one will ever know what we brought and established here. So, what does the future of Freedom Sold hold? That's a tough question. In order to move forward, you must be ushered forward. With no real fans, how can this be acheived? Does 'success' lie outside the city? Is it time for a move? Will touring really be the answer in this age of downloads and fickle fans? It's funny that people only choose to listen, just as it seems things may be over. If we were to quit, people would be upset and complaining; that they were fans, loved our music, etc. But how many people buy our cd's?? How many come to our shows? As much as we enjoy doing this, at the end of the day, it does come down to how much money have you made? A pat on the back doesn't pay the rent, it doesn't buy and fix equipment, it doesn't even put gas in the tank to make it to the show. Showing your support for local artist is the most important thing you can do (take 'em to church). We are not on a major label. We are not signed to Def Jam, Universal, or Sony. Nor do we have a fly distribution deal. Not buying a cd, or burning it, or asking for it for free does more harm than good. Does being a local band make your product that much less desireable?????? We've played shows, people showed interest, but as soon as they find out your a local band, they put their money back into their pockets, and later to the bar and tip jar. Is it since we are local, they can buy our cd anytime anywhere? (If so, our record sales sure don't show it.) Maybe we should try saying we are from out of town, hehe. (Northshore, TX...ever heard of it?) Well, it seems we are a year behind. So we have a year to catch up on. Hope to see you around. Believe it or not, your support this year will determine the future of FREEDOM SOLD.

Well, it's all behind us now. Despite slanderous attempts and what not. US MAPLE kicked ass, a little wobbilyat times, but I live in a wobbily world, or is that wiggily. RIP DON C NORTON. you lose an ally in the struggle, you gain...? No more shows for now. Time to sit down for a while. The time is coming for the new do, not to be confused with doo doo. You don't own hey, hey. You just sing rock n roll with your friends. Be safe, be strong, be. I'm gonna buy the Lenny Bruce or Pere Ubu box set. Arthur, ARTHUR!!!!!!
