Sugar is a lovely Pit Bull abandoned by those who promised to care for her. She is finally in foster care with someone who loves her very much. We are raising funds for the care of Sugar, while she is awaiting her forever home to come for her.  Any amount you can donate would be so helpful.

Introducing….The THANK-a-Bull Thanksgiving Fundraiser!

The Thank-a-Bull Thanksgiving Fundraiser is your opportunity to
support Pit Bull education and advocacy while sharing with the world
how Pit Bulls have positively affected your life. Whether you wish to
thank a special four-legged friend for the joy he or she has brought
you, or make a general statement about Pit Bulls and how thankful
you are that the breed is in your life, this fundraiser will give you a
voice to do so!

Pit Bulls have brought people together in special ways, have
positively affected our lives, and have brought magic, joy, and peace
into our homes. “You have to live with one to understand” has been
the unofficial motto of breed guardians for ages. Now, at this time of
year when we pause and contemplate our blessings, let’s give some
thanks to the dogs who have brought us all so much, and give the
world a peek into the lives we share with this amazing breed.

Contributors will be added to a
permanent page on RealPitBull.com,
meant to showcase the love and joy the Pit Bull brings to the world,
and for which we are thankful.

• $1.00 donation – Two sentences to give thanks for your dog or Pit
Bulls in general.
• $5.00 donation – Two sentences to give thanks for your dog or Pit
Bulls in general, along with a photo of your choice.
• $10.00 donation – A full paragraph to give thanks for your dog or
Pit Bulls in general, along with a photo of your choice.

Yoga for Pit Bulls
Karma Yoga with proceeds to benefit The REAL Pit Bull, Inc.
Sponsored by Sachiko Eubanks
Week of October 19th
The purpose of these karma yoga classes is to raise awareness and donations for the REAL Pit Bull,Inc., a non profit organization dedicated to the education and advocacy of this much maligned breed.
Support of this organization will bring awareness to Pit Bull issues of abuse and neglect, promote responsible guardianship of Pit Bulls, educate on non breed-specific measures that can be implemented in cities to help protect its citizens from dog bites and help people understand the true nature of Pit Bulls, and that it is the human on the end of the leash that matters - NOT the breed!
To participate in this cause, attend any of Sachiko Eubank's classes:

Oct. 19, 1PM
Oct. 20, 9AM
Oct. 22, 5:45PM

100% of class fee will be donated to REAL Pit Bull Inc. Additional donations are welcome for a chance to win a 10-class-pass and yoga mat a $150 value! Donations accepted at studio or via mail. In recognition of National Pit Bull Awareness Day - Oct 24th and in conjunction with Clixworld | Animal Behavior Management, Inc. Dog Training & Boarding

....................

If you weren't convinced before about PETA's anti Pit Bull
stance, here's a little article written by the founder herself that should help
you see the light about this organization with a VERY anti Pit Bull agenda.....

Note** Newkirk states below that she has been rescuing Pit
Bulls from horrid situations for 25 years. What she doesn't tell you is what
happens to those dogs after she rescues them - they are euthanized.....

Save suffering pit bulls by curtailing breeding....
By Ingrid E. Newkirk....

Updated: 01/28/2009 07:40:38 PM PST....

AS someone who has spent 25 years rescuing pit bulls from
conditions we wouldn't visit on our worst enemies, I applaud the city of
Lancaster's adoption this week of an ordinance requiring all pit bulls to be
spayed or neutered.....

Pit bull breeding bans truly are needed to protect the
public as well as the pit bulls themselves, probably the most abused breed in
dogdom.....

Through no fault of their own, pit bulls have become the dog
of choice for people who don't know or care about dogs and who want this
particular dog only because a pit is a "macho" possession - a
reflection of the image they want for themselves.....

Most of these dogs live on chains - if you can call it
living - attached to a stake, metal drum or dilapidated doghouse. To make them
"mean," they are often starved and beaten. They are not social, or if
they are, they are not to be trusted around children or other animals,
especially small ones. They are hardheaded by nature and suffer the brunt of
that trait, too, by being treated abominably.....

PETA's staff has cared for a mother pit who weighed about a
third of what she should have weighed - her hip, back and rib bones protruding.
We euthanized her worm-infested, scared-to-death, unsocialized young pups. If
someone wants a puppy, there are more than enough other puppies to choose from
in local shelters - ones who will not have to go through an ordeal to be socialized.....

dragged her wherever he wanted to go on his small chain,
periodically turning to attack her. She was as sweet a being as anyone could
ever want, or so it seemed, but she was no sweeter or more deserving of a home
than all the dogs on Death Row in shelters. Also wonderful was the male pit we
found in this same yard with his chain embedded into his festering neck. The
family had two more pits, and they wished to breed them and sell the pups.....

This story was not unusual. We were not surprised. We also
had two huge, strong "bruiser pits," as we call them, in our custody
who were so difficult to handle that only a very strong person could walk them,
one at a time.....

They came from a yard where they lived on chains, and after
we sterilized them (free of charge in our clinic), they had to go back there.
They will die on those chains one day, and they are dangerous. They are fine
around adult humans, but they get fixated on any small dog or cat and work as a
pair if they can, equally excited and unmanageable. This is not unusual for
pits. If I said this about a collie or a beagle, it would be surprising.....

Please consider this: It is safer for other dogs and for
small children to have a chance encounter with a poodle, cocker spaniel or
mixed hound than it is for them to have one with a pit bull. Of course, that's
a generalization, but it's also true.....

If you had a Chihuahua or a child and someone said,
"Behind Door A is a pug or a Labrador, and behind Door B is a pit; you
choose which door we will open," which door would you choose? Right.....

So, knowing that pits and pit mixes are responsible for more
attacks than other dogs - not just fatal attacks, but ones in which an eye or
limb or self-confidence is lost for life - is it right to suggest that people
should continue breeding this kind of dog? Especially when other wonderful dogs
are crying out for homes?....

There are more reasons for pit bull breeding bans, but these
are just a few.....

Cesar Millan is a very popular television personality. What's important to recognize is that his show is not meant to be a tutorial on training dogs - it is for entertainment purposes ONLY. There is a reason a disclaimer runs for every aired episode.

In many ways, Millan is an old fashion trainer. Although his techniques might seem fresh and new, he's actually very "old school" - and in many ways, his techniques are outdated and not in line with current behavioral science.

Please review some of the links below before making your mind up about Cesar Millan and his methods.

Thx!

RPB will not support, condone or in any way promote UNETHICAL breeders. If you would like to friend request us, and you are a breeder, please consider the following questions before you do so.

**Any breeder who promotes or posts bulletins/comments regarding pups/dogs for sale, will be DELETED if the dogs are not UKC/AKC/ADBA/AADR *standard*, ethically-bred dogs.

1) Why are you breeding APBTs considering there are SO many dying regularly in shelters and wanting for homes?

2) You DO know about all the APBTs in shelters, right?

3) When is the last time you visited those shelters, and spent some volunteer time with those APBTs?

4) If you're breeding, are you breeding more than one litter a year, and if so, why?

5) Do you health test - OFA, cardiac, vWD, BAER (especially for those of you catering to the "I want a white Pit Bull" crowd), etc. etc. (and "a health cert. from a veterinarian" doesn't count!)?

6) If you don't health test, why?

7) Are you dogs conforming to the UKC, ADBA or AKC standard, and if not, why do you feel the need to cater to the fad-lovin, neophyte crowd?

8) What's so special about your dogs (in other words, what proof do you have that they should be passing on their genes to future APBTs)?

9) How do you contribute to anti-BSL and rescue efforts and make sure ALL dogs are you producing aren't contributing to the problems activists are currently facing?

 10) Provide your most well-thought-out answer to justify your breeding program!

January 16, 2008 - Wednesday
Unless you are one of those rare, ethical breeders who health test their dogs and have dogs that adhere to the ADBA/UKC/AKC standard (i.e. you can actually tell they are Pit Bulls), PLEASE DELETE ME.

I am sick to death of seeing these bulletins pimping puppies, 2-for-1 deals, fat monstrosities that barely resemble dogs let alone Pit Bulls, and breeding ads when side by side there are bulletins about dogs dying every day for lack of homes.

Pay you $800, $1000, $2000 for one of your no-name pedigree, unhealth-tested, could never win an ADBA/UKC/AKC show dogs? I can go to the shelter and adopt the same dog for $100.

If you aren't part of the solution, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

It's obvious you JUST DON'T CARE.

Keep on working to destroy the breed. I'll just keep working harder to save it.

Totally disguted,
~Mary
