June 7-10, 2007 was the 29th Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL. I was fortunate to be one of the guest artists in this my first year of attending, and what a blast! My gracious, 6 month pregnant wife attended with me and we really had a good time. We met so many nice people, sold some books and prints and did some sketches for grateful fans (of Superman that is). Sunday I entered the costume contest as the Joker, complete with oversized teeth, a "BANG!" gun, and a large stick of Kryptonite (just in case). I lost to an amazing Mr.Freeze suit but still had fun taking pictures and performing on stage. Some guys even caught us on video.

Can't wait to go back next year if we can! "Cheers!" to the Chamber and all who make it possible!

The Cravens Award is a highly coveted trophy given to select individuals in recognition of superior performance in the area of cartooning and comics. It is in honor of Greg Cravens, a brilliant cartoonist and illustrator. This year, I was proud to receive two awards for my comic strip Moth & Ethan in the categories of Best Single Comic Strip and Best Comic Strip Series. This was a huge honor for me and it is encouraging to learn that this particular area of my work has such broad appeal. Many thanks to those who voted, the judges, and the Beatys for providing this opportunity.
