Right there folks, it takes a long time for wealth to trickle down through the mantle of high society to the poor folk below. To draw attention to this tendency, we decided to take as long as possible getting the video for Mr Politician online. Sam Craigan and crew (nice one Sam) made it about two years ago (was it longer?), and now the last of the ones and oh's have dribbled down through the fabric of injustice, we've got it up for the masses to see.

In other words, we lost Sam's phone number.

Check it out; go to youtube and put it Bad Science and Mr Politician. And keep the questions coming innit.....

HEY FOLKS.. Well excited at the minute.. I've just heard the masters for the brand new Mud Sun ep, my sideproject with Baba Brinkman (the mighty canadian rapper best known for turning the Canterbury Tales into dope rap songs). Mud Sun, forging art from the dirt and making it lovely, sons of the soil, casting light through the fuckry, and anything else you might think it means. Go and check it for yourselves, on www.myspace.com/mudsun

Five songs of wickedness

And watch that space, as well as watching this one.

Hey folks

Some of you may have noticed we're not playing many gigs at the moment: we decided it was time we stopped tearing round the country and started writing some new material; anyone who's seen us do the same set 493 times will testify that it's high time.

I just wanted to make communication and say; wer, the new songs are sounding heavy, very heavy indeed, new stories and new sounds. We're playing together lots , and still building with the CommUnity collective too. Anyone who's hungry for Bad Science vibrations can go and check out members of our extended musical family: find them at myspace.com/communityuk . Also, look for podcasts which'll be coming coon, with jams and tune selections... There's lots to be feasting on.

Finally, our Flare In the CommUnity show on Radio Reverb has been given a weekly slot now, so if you're in the Brighton district go to 97.2fm on a tuesday night at 9pm and you'll hear songs and discussions and interviews... In the company of friends.

Of course, if you've got a massive gig for us supporting Arrested Development at Brixton Academy, we might well pull ourselves out of the creative mud and come and play.

Peace and oneness

Alright then.

On Saturday I won the BBC Radio 4 UK Slam Finals: it was a thing I hadn't expected really at all. I like how chilled the attitude between the poets normally is at these events. You can say whatever whatever poets are pussies but life's far too short to worry about being hiphop enough, being hardcore enough. It's a good thing,  a slam. I was shitting bricks about the competition itself... sat shaking wondering whether I had enough points to get through to the next round Yeah I smacked it man it was raw, took the whole thing by storm shut up you nob you're a oet not a prapper. It was a completely nerve racking evening, the other poets were brilliant i thought, nah i won't get through of course I won't. But I did and there I was standing at the end in front of the Radi Oh 4 banner going Oh.

Big up to the other Poets they were all dope,

Love to my family who came and supported, and all the Smerins people and old Bristol people who came and shouted at the right points.

Fight! FIght! Fight!

Peace

Hello,
Just thought we'd mention that, as poor struggling musicians, the scientists are on the lookout for a way to support ourselves on our journey through musical progression...
If anyone out there has heard us play, likes what we do, and wants to know how we do it, Alex, Jer and Tom Tom are offering their services to teach anyone who wants to learn how to play their chosen instrument.
If you, your nipper or anyone you know wants guitar, bass or drum lessons at nice friendly rates, send us a message and let us know.
Spread the knowledge, peace and vibrations

Easy peoples...
After much time spent tinkering with my laptop in the early hours of the morning, i have finally finished a spanking new mix of "Prayer to the Green Lady" (off our 'Small Gods ep"). What was once a nice mellow dubby stepper has morphed into a jungle-tastic d'n'b track....
Grab yourself a couple of gurners* and then go and check it at:

Squeezy cheezy Peas, Alex

* contrary to what this may seem to suggest, Bad Science do not condone the use of mind altering substances. We are good, law-abiding citizens. honest...

Venue Magazine, 16th July 06:

Reviewing our gig at the croft, bristol, 29th Jun...

"It's a full house for Bad Science, and therefore good news as the stated purpose of tonight's gig is raising funds for a college in Cameroon. Pity the Young Tories who left early, expecting a fund-raiser for David Cameron. Fashionably late, Bad Science take to the stage with a skanking instrumental that features all the ingredients of any self-respecting reggae act, the melodica, Augustus Pablo's weapon of choice, fat rumbling bass and bongos, chirruping guitar and big splashy drum kit. It's when the singer starts declaiming that some real character comes thorugh. Word-dense, poetic, like a bifter wielding John Betjemen casting a disapproving eye over popular culture. The song that included the wordplay "England, Middle finger land, dinner lady land, imperialist hinterland.." prompts the biggest roar from a crowd who are listening intently and know a caustically accurate portrait of this green and pleasant land when they hear one. 'The Essence' is rather more baffling, seemingly an attempt to meld Ted Hughes' animism with Stephen Hawkins's 'a brief history of time' *
Blimey, it aint "Don't worry be happy". The Guitarist begins stretching with some elegant wah-wah and later with some rather splendid over-the-neck slide playing. I haven't seen that deployed since David Bowie and his band performed 'John I'm only dancing' on soon-to-be-cancelled Top of the Pops. Speaking of which, why don't they try Natasha Kaplinsky hosting? That might work. Look how she turned 'The News' around. The crowd inch forward into the six-yard box after subtle prompting from the singer and limbs start loosening. In the gently bracing breeze of the Croft's fancy air conditioning, its positively civilized and memories of sweatbox misery are banished to the same place as Frank Lampard's how-did-i-miss-that facial expressions. Bad Science are a sophisticated and slinky band who made a good cause a pleasure to support"

*by the way, the essence is a tune about chilling out in a field. reading a bit too deep there methinks mate....

Future Music, October '06, reviewing 'Prayer to the Green Lady', off our Small Gods EP, which was featured on their cover DVD

"Well realised live-sounding dubby Hip Hop action here. The overall level of production is very good, and the mix sounds nice and open. You sound like you know what you're doing."

Oh, and the Guardian said we were "brilliant, Adrian Mole does hip hop"...
