Alright, we are back in New Hampshire today!
I haven't spoken to you since that show at Radio Bean.
Ever since we have played at the Monkey Bar on Wednesday Night. It was a great show, the sound was very good, and the people very supportive, we played from 9ish to 11ish. In the afternoon we performed live 4 songs on the radio: www.theradioator.org : "where we're from", "Shoot me up", "Orbit of you", and "Lost my way". After the performance at the Monkey Bar, we went to the Bean Cafe to listen to an open Mike of Honky Tonk, there was this singer there who gave me the chills, the combination of the guitar player back up and her vocals were chilling goose bumps, that band was a killer. he girl at the door for some reason recognized us as the 2 singer songwriters from New York that she had heard on the radio that afternoon, how did she guess!?
Today i wrote a Honky Tonk song, called "Coleen", the name of that girl that Dan liked at the Monkey Bar and who invited us to hear Honky Tonk after our show but never showed up :( to Dan!
Dan and I wrote some lyrics togther for that song this afternoon, we want to perform it tomorrow.
We are sleeping in this little house lost in the mountain and the smells are overwhelming, it is so wild and beautiful and quiet!
Sadie our tour dog is in heaven :)
Last night we met and had dinner with Matt Macgrail and his friend Drew in Keen, NH. Matt will be performing with us at Fritz, tomorrow...
On Tuesday night in Vermont we went to see this amazing performer play at the Monkey Bar his name is Guy forsyth, check him out, he is a ball of energy, and probably the most talented guitar player I have heard...
Yesterday we played at this cafe in Montpellier called Common Grounds in the afternoon from 1ish to 3ish, we really felt the crowd and people were really responding to our music, even though they were there for coffee they were clapping at each song, commenting, and buying CDs, :) thanks to our friends Sarah and steve who came to support us there...
I am at the Library right now, gotta go
Your truly,
remy

OK, last night at Radio Bean was great but not so crowded, we played for 2 hours. Our new friend Ted, with whom we played with the night before, came to see us play. He had brought his adorable family with him :) He asked us to play "Broken Glass". We hang out after the show outside with Sadie to eat. I went to the restaurant The Daily planet (Radio Bea cafe didnt make any food) to get us a couple of sandwiches and fries. We talked to this couple, the girlfriend was pregnant about have the bay any minute and her goofy boyfriend, who looked like a cuban revolutionary smoking pot with his friends. We sat down at their table, and chatted about Vermot, NYC, babies...
This morning I woke up and jumped in the poooooool, felt sooooo good!
Dan went to get a couple of bagle and coffee, and here I am writing to you:)
We are not playing today.
Tomorrow we have a live radio appearance and then we play at Monkey Bar at 7PM
Today we chill...
Your truly,
Remy

Last night we were playing at Radio Bean Café from 7pm to 8:30pm Do I know which day it is!? I heard it was Sunday yesterday, well I guess I am losing track Seems like all we do is eat, drive, rehearse, and perform. I find it all fun, but not knowing what time it is, unless we got to run to the show...
Saturday July 5th we played at The Langdon Café. There was this duo, Marie and Ted who were playing at 9pm Right after us, a very Yoko ONOish kinda sound: A great combination of improve with good tunes and guitar playing. We invited them to play fiddle and guitar on some of our songs and they Invited us to play on a few of their tunes as well. A really open evening good wine, VG food and good people.
The Motel we had to go back to after the performance was awful, we checked the sheets to make sure of unwanted bugs, and the sheets smelled like mold. Needless to say that we slept until 11:30am, we were both exhausted, woken up by a phone call, thank God! Went for a walk with Sadie, and back to Langdon Café for Breakfast, should I take a shower, looks a bit scary. On the way I went into a mom and pop to ask if we could leave our CDs in consignment , I left 3 from Dan and 3 from me. I then proceeded to find this café that advertised music and went in to ask if we could play, the manager had seen us the night before and liked our music so she booked us for next Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm.
Alright, we are driving to Burlington blasting the Boss, Springsteen, and loving him, we decided to play Bruce before every gig as inspiration!
This new Motel is great, and I am watching my favorite movie "kill Bill" on TV. Dan went running and Sadie is sitting at my feet, so cute. Oh no we gotta go, we are playing at Radio Bean cafe, but I am missing the end of Kill Bill, when she kills David Karadine by exploding his heart with the kung fu hit.
Yours truly,
Remy

I am out of my bed cause Sadie who was sleeping in my bed, peed In it. so I cannot sleep anymore, so I went to have breakfast.
Last night was an amazing performance! Dan and I sounded better than we have ever sounded. This place the Tamarick Grill was amazing, at the top of the mountain, Everything brand new, especially the PA system which was the biggest treat. The people couldn't be more helpful and supportive and they loved our music. What more to ask the only draw back is the place was so big but not very crowded. I guess we made the best of it trying to play for the few people there and to treat ourselves as well.
When we came out last night, we could see the stars like I have never seen them so clear and bright.
The weather is beautiful today, and I think I am going to get breakfast.

Here we are the beautiful Burke Mountains!
We went back to The Bee's Knees (where we played on the 1st) to get coffee a burrito and I also wanted to buy a bee's knees t-shirt, which is pretty cool if you ask me. Dan and I left some CDs for sale and laid in the sun before heading towards the Burke Mountains. This women who saw us play on the 1st shook my hand and said she really liked my CD, and she reminded how much she liked our vocal bland. She said: "stay for the 4th of July parade", I said: we gotta go "on the road again" Last night we saw Handcock, which was OK enough that we were able to find a deeper meaning into the movie, like when Will Smith and Charlize Theron loose their power when they are too close to one another, does it ring a bell, and then a pretty good Vegan Pizza and beer at "Pie in the Sky", the world was all good to us! Last night in the silence of the night Dan's alarm kept going off, felt like we were back in NYC, Dan was mortified, he then fixed it, and Sadie woke me up in the middle of the night ventilating, so I opened the door and gave her water (I hope anyone is interested, tell me if my bnlog is a bit too lame!?) Anyhow, we drove the whole morning, the greenery wouldn't stop to amaze me. We got to the place where we were supposed to play tonight but it was all empty, a sky resort, without a soul except an old dog, out of nowhere. At the sight of the dog Dan and I rushed into the car, we realized he was practically blind and could barly move, but Sadie, started barking in my ear and I am almost deaf. Felt like one of those movies when the hero comes into the place where he is supposed to revenge the killing of his brother and the whole town is hiding.
Man we can't seem to contact anyone, and the place we are supposed to play at says colsed on the 4th of July!!??
So I am writing you from this really typical vermont cafe place, waiting to hear from our employer (we are supposed to play at 7:30pm). You should see all the bikers having lunch here, those guys and girls full of mud!
Will write more later...
Your truly,
Remy

Current mood: aggravated
Alright, we are in a little cafe, chilling after a really wrong evening last night. We felt on a high the whole day and convinced this big Bar to let us play. After listening to our CD the owner accepted to have us play from 8PM to 11PM. We were really into it, and rented a PA system to get a really good sound.
When we got there they kind shoved us in a corner, the staff was all but encouraging, and the crowd was probably the worse, and ignoring than I have experienced, and I have played a lot of venues in NYC! everyone turned their back on us, no on ever looked at us or clapped at any time! after a few songs I said to Dan let's take a break and eat and we'll come back stronger. So we did and played and things wouldn't get better, if we hadn't existed we would have been more noticible. We concluded that it wasn't about our music but more a problem with the audience who was eating talking really loud and mesmorized by the baseball game!
Today is raining in Vermont and we decided to make this day a chillin' one for us. Sadie is getting grooming, Dan decided.
Alright we are heading for the Burke Mountain tomorrow that should be fun, will keep you posted.
Yours truly
Remy

OK last night July 1st, we played at the Bee's Knees Café. This is a really progressive café with vegan, organic food, in the middle of Vermont, the kind of town, that driving through if you sneezed you could miss. Really nice folks and staff, the food was outrageous and the wine to die for, they fed us profusely (vegan burrito and salad, artichoke dip)and gave us muffins for the morning. At 11:00pm the town seemed to have died down and the traffic practically dead.
Dan bought the Bee's Knees T-shirt a really cool one: brown with acid yellow tree and acid orange letters. When he put it on this morning I said: Wouah I got to get meself one! No no, of course not the same color. Damn he said we forgot to tip the waitresses, we decided we had to go back…
We played from 7:30 to 10:00pm, with a little break for food. We must have played more than 20 original songs of ours and 2 covers: "Every Breath you Take" Police, and "Don't let me down" Beatles. The place was a little small for the PA system we felt like we were yelling into people's eardrums of the nearest tables. Never the less once Dan settled on the piano-vocals and me on acoustic guitar-vocals we got loose and our vocals soared. People started buying CDs and commenting on our vocal bland.
We stopped at 10AM and kept hanging out until 11:30pm, obvious that it was getting really late for the town, and the whole place had already shut down, while we were chatting outside with this nice guy from Hoboken who had moved to Vermont 1 year ago. Sitting on those long wooden chairs, sipping our ginger peach tea, I felt like we were on top of the mountain. John from Hoboken said he would come to our next gig at the Langdon Café on July 5th…

Current mood: adventurous
Dan Strauss, Sadie the dog and I, hit the road yesterday, and arrived in Keen last night. We slept at Matt McGrail (check myspace for him), a musician friend. We flipped a coin for who would get the bed or sleep on the floor, Dan slept on the floor and Sadie was stuck onto me the whole night (that dog would sell her master for a comfortabe bed). Darn I can't find my glasses, probably lost them at this Zen restaurant we had food at last night. I called the place but I got this Asian ladie who says she only speaks portuguese!!!
We are at "Prime Roast", to get Dan his fix of caffeine, and me a great lemon pastry. We rehearsed this morning and made a combined set list and we sounded better tan ever!!!
Our first stop: "The Bee's Knees" in Morisville. People are so nice here the cars actually stop to let the pedestrians go, that's amazing, a different planet.
Gotta go, more rehearsal and hitting the road again we are 2 hours away from Morrrisville, Vermont.
Yours truly

I have to say that the Beatles always inspired me as the most creative, inspired, and diversified band that ever existed, I just finished reading Georges Harrison's Spiritual and musical journey, and I have fell in love with this guy during his non Beatle period. He represents a path that I always aspired taking but never really succeeded with, out of fear, not ready yet, doubts, etc...no matter what the reason, Georges comes out as a master in this book and I feel that he was and is totally underated, I see him as this King that received all the greatest material treasures that the earth had to offer, but who pushed it all away guided by the pursuit of a higher love, God's, after reading this book I will never listen to George's music the same way.
Funny, I went from worshiping Paul as a kid, grew admiring and inspired by John later on, to be amazed by the genious of Ringo's drumming, and to finish with the one that I have the most affinities with: Georges, funny that he would come last. I know, I have always been slow at everything...
