yo! we're back from japan!!!

we were absolutely blown away by the beauty/talent/enthusiasm & generousity
shown to us by Japan. many many many thanks to Shino for basically taking care
of everything imaginable and our friend/destroyer Kyouhei for being an awesome
friend and filming some shows. thanks to everyone who let us sleep on their
floor, also all the bands that we played with (including Shift/Doppo (thanks
for the amazing shirts!)/My Head Swims/Joy/Yolz In The Sky/Novacane/6eyes/Ogre
You Asshole/ShoutMoskva/Mizm/Extruders/this list goes on & on!!!

extra big thanks to everyone that attended our shows out there. you guys were
awesome.

for those of you in the states, we have a show coming up in Washington DC

with
SHIFT (from Japan) & Don Zientara @ Black Cat on Monday Dec 11th
please check
out Shift they are amazing, and they came all the way from Yamagata Japan to see you!!!

hopefully after a couple more weeks of practicing we hope to hop into the
studio to record a full length record.

in case you didn't know, sentai has had lots of bassist over the past 2-3 years we've been around. why we have gone through so many is something i cannot explain.
for those who are curious i thought i'd just take time to list everyone who's played bass for us and give the credit they deserve in chronological order:

1. Michael Butts
(we started sentai with him, and wrote/played/recorded I Am The Never Ending Siren with us. if you have that he's the other guy singing. i'm pretty sure he's starting a new band, i'll update this blog to any that are interested)

2. Andrew Meneghello
(only played two shows with us but yeah he's awesome.)

3. Nick Barkley
(wrote some/ played & recorded our split with La Mi Vida Violenta. right now lives in dc and is playing in a couple bands)

4. Joseph Maniwang
(he played a lot of shows with him and helped write some stuff that's not out yet)

5. Hugh McElroy
(hugh has been a friend of ours for awhile. he recorded I Am The Never Ending Siren & the La Mi Vida Violenta/Sentai split. when joseph informed us he couldn't do the ruffian bff tour hugh agreed to temporarilly fill in. joseph later quit and since hugh already knew the songs he sortof just ended up being our bassist. he is still playing/writing with us. the Studio 13 cdr was recorded during the ruffian bff tour so that's him playing bass & other things. Hugh runs ruffian records and also plays in Hand Fed Babies/Equinox/countless other bands too. you can read all about him on wikipedia.org)

i hope this explains things, this is something people ask me about all the time.

Current mood:  depressed
on sept 17th my minivan was stolen. it had this stuff in it too:

QSC RMX 2450 power amp

(2) Yamaha BR15 PA speakers

juice's cymbals- some really broken hihats/sabian ax rock crash/sabian b8 ride

iron cobra single drum pedal

2 tier keyboard stand (rockstands brand)

some drum hardware...

oh yeah if you find a 1994 green dodge caravan with virginia tags (JUT 3725)
that would be super cool.

i really doubt that posting on the internet is really going to anything but if you hear anything or see someone trying to sell all this stuff at once or really ANYTHING please call my cellphone 571 237 1538
thankfully we still have all the synths/guitars/pedals/guitar amp/bass amp/most of a drum kit so it's not going to KILL US. we'll still be able to play on october 1st and 2nd.
it really could be worse-
i'm really unsure how i'm going to be able to
work/practice/play shows regularly/live.
i appreciate all the support/feedback i've been getting.
thanks-
Collin

UPDATE:
minivan recovered, but destroyed more than it's worth to fix. we have no van. melodica & dance light are still okay but everything else listed above is stolen.
