Radio Station 93 XRT aired their annual Local Anesthetic Holiday Spectacular tonight.
We prepared a special holiday greeting and it was played on the air! The show will be replayed next Sunday at 7 pm (Central Standard Time), and our greeting comes on right around the 45 minute mark, so if you want to catch it, tune in around 7:45 pm. It's a quick 45 second greeting, so don't make the mistake of tuning in late and missing it completely.
In case you're wondering what the greeting consists of, it features James saying something along the lines of "Hey Chicago, we're Face Time Police and you're listening to 93XRT, home of Chicago's Finest Rock" and it ends with the dual guitar ode to "White Christmas" found in our Christmas cover/remake/medley, "(Burning) Under The Mistletoe."
You can download the full version of our Christmas song (for FREE) at:
Special thanks to Richard Milne of 93XRT!

Guess what? We have a special Christmas gift for all of you... a free download of our Christmas cover/remake/medley that we like to call "(Burning) Under The Mistletoe!"
We re-recorded everything from scratch this year and it turned out 10 times better than the version we recorded 2 years ago. We threw in a change or two from the previous version for good measure.
In case you're wondering, the medley contains "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey and "White Christmas" by Irving Berlin.
Please pass it along to your friends and help spread some holiday cheer (in the form of a melancholic, yet bouncy, FTP Christmas song!).

We're honored to be a part of this special holiday concert and food drive taking place next week! If you're in or around Chicago or Kenosha, we'd love for you to come and be a part of this event. Tickets are $8, or $5 with 3 non-perishable food items (food items will go to The Open Arms Mission).
There will be over 20 bands at this event, each playing 1 Christmas song. If you've been following us for a while, we'll be playing an acoustic version of a certain holiday cover/remake/medley of ours.
If you're thinking "well, you're just playing one song, why would I go to that?" Well, there are a ton of bands playing at this concert, so it'll be interesting to hear everyone's take on some holiday tunes, and I'm sure there'll be some original songs in there as well. It's a huge event with prizes and games, and it's taking place at a mini-golf place, so there's an arcade, go carts, and all kinds of stuff to keep you entertained (challenge us to a round of mini golf?).
Special thanks to Evie of Feedback Magazine for letting us be a part of this unique concert.
Read Feedback Magazine's blog for more info:
On a "holiday" note..
We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend and hope that you spent it with friends and relatives and stuffed your face with turkey and mashed potatoes and corn and gravy and yams and whatever else you had at the dinner table. We spent the past four days recording a special treat for you that will be finished just in time for the holidays, so look forward to it!
until infinity,

p.s. - Has anyone seen Katy Perry's cover of "Hackensack" by Fountains of Wayne? You should youtube it. Wait, let me do it for you.
There. :)
Her collection of unplugged performances is actually pretty damn good. These stripped-down versions really bring out a more heartfelt and even soulful element that just doesn't come through on the originals. I have to admit, I've passed her off as just another pop "face" until now (d'oh!).

http://www.showmethemusiccontest.com/winners-and-finalists.pdfCheck out that link above. While we didn't win the grand prize for this competition, our song "Minute Made" did make it into the finals under the "Alternative" category. Sweet! (...like a lemon?)

"All the luck in the world won't help us now..."
Be the first person to correctly identify that quote without the use of any online aid and I'll reward you with something. There'll be some follow-up questions to test if you're a fan or if you just looked it up. So, you won't be able to fake it with me. :) I hate liars.
Anyway, YES, we have a show on FRIDAY THE 13TH at The Penny Road Pub. There are 2 stages: the main stage and the basement stage. We'll be playing on the basement stage. I tried looking up the other bands and of the ones that I was able to find, it looks like a pretty mixed/diverse show, which is AWESOME. Shows where everyone from the opener to the headliner all sound alike are silly and a waste of time.
If you are in or around the Chicago area and would like physical flyers to promote this show, let me know right away (just send us a message) and I'll mail you a handful. I WILL hook you up with free stuff for helping us out.
I guess that's all that needs to be said about that. Since it's a pretty diverse show, you can bet that we'll be bringing out all sides of FTP. If you liked the heavy stuff, the poppy stuff, and anything in-between, you do NOT want to miss this show.
until infinity,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMUURB_-eW8Hi everyone, Our special "Bare Bones '09" video is now up (just in time for Halloween)! We hope you enjoy our special stripped-down, yet dressed-up, acoustic performance of our song "Of Man and Monster." We threw in Lordi's "Would You Love a Monsterman?" and made it a fitting medley for Halloween. (Remember to watch the video all the way through, because after the song there's some bonus footage *wink* *wink*) Please spread the video around and get into the Halloween spirit! :) until infinity, -br1an "the master, the beast, the fight" s3rra.
