First, I love anything that has vampires in it, which is odd because my first book isn’t about vampires. Although, at first Rose was a vamp, but I changed it after my cousin got me into the TV show Carnivàle. I started getting into secret societies and mythology and other paranormal stories. I decided to change the direction of Three Seeds from vamps, to beings that I came up with in my head. I already had the Guardians (characters in the book) in a short story I wrote, and then I created the other supernatural beings to complete my Urban Fantasy world. I am working on a YA vamp novel. I'm also working on a pilot for a kids show in Atlanta. The kid show is out of my normal writing element, but the challenge of it is what makes it fun. Again, I'm into anything Urban Fantasy or paranormal. But I'm not really a straight up horror guy.

As for writers that I’m into: Of course I have to start off with Anne Rice. No matter what anyone says about her writing ability, she changed the world of vampires to me. Next on my list would have to be Karen Chance right now, anyone that doesn’t know about her need to check out her stuff. Everything she writes is entertaining from start to finish. Just like Stephenie Meyer and Richelle Mead. I have a lot of authors I like, but the last one I will mention is Nancy Holder. She wrote a book called Heat. I loved the way she made you feel how hot everyone was in the book.

As for TV shows: Like I said, I’m into anything with vamps, so number one on my list is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Next is almost everything else that has been on TV. I’ve watched everything from Roswell to The West Wing and from the Cosby Show to One Three Hill. I just got into Chuck. Used to love Heroes (used to.) Loved The 4400, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Dexter, Weeds, Growing Pains, and on and on.

Movies: I like all types of movies. I mean I went to school to learn how to make them, so I watch comedies and dramas and basically everything. Its a very long list. Okay, my favorite movie keeps changing depending on my mood. Sometimes its Star Wars, then it goes to Interview With The Vampire, to a movie called Brick, and anything with Bruce Lee.

Music: Too large a list to make. But lets say my taste go from the Beatles to 2pac and Tori Amos and Radiohead and Stone Temple Pilot and Maxwell and Disturbed and on and on.

You can check out the main page for 2 excerpts from the book. Comments are welcomed. I would love to know what you guys think about the story.

If anyone is interested in watching the short vamp movie I did in school, here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qansJ-hSMIQ&feature=channel_page

May 14, 2009 - Thursday
Richard gazed into the darkness where Jessica clung onto the smooth pole. He started to yell out her name when a bright light flooded the window behind his wife. A strange illumination brightened the lazarette.
Richard watched as the light caressed his wife’s beautiful face. For a moment, he thought he’d seen an Angel. Jessica’s body seemed to glow as the light wrapped around her from top to bottom. Slowly Jessica turned her head toward the window. She gazed into the light as if it whispered to her.
“Jessica!” Richard called out. She didn’t acknowledge him. She stared into the beautiful light as if she had become trapped in a trance. Richard pulled Jim closer to him before he called out to his wife again, “Jessica, sweetheart! Look at me, Jess.”
Jessica didn’t turn. She didn’t move as she sat transfixed in the glow of the light. Richard heard her whisper toward the illumination. He couldn’t make out what she said over the roaring of the storm. He could only hear a muffled declaration as a single tear rolled down Jessica’s cheek.
Slowly Jessica turned from the window with glazed blue eyes. Her face became pale and emotionless. She didn’t blink, she didn’t even seem to be breathing, she sat perfectly still as she stared at Richard while he desperately clung to Jim. The light continued to form a type of barrier around her stagnant body.
“The Coming is upon us. We are the chosen ones, the witnesses, and the blessed that will behold its wonder. Rejoice in its birth. Because of its glory, a new world shall be formed. Pessum ire est inter nos. Pessum ire est inter nos. Pessum ire est inter nos.” Jessica said with an even tone, her deep southern patois was missing from the strange voice escaping her thin lips.
Another wave slammed into the starboard side of the boat causing Jessica’s head to crash into the pole. Richard called out to her as she fell to the floor unconscious. The strange light left, the lazarette once again became encompassed in darkness.

May 10, 2009 - Sunday
The Hunters had them flanked. David didn’t wait for the ones behind them to start their onslaught. He released a flurry of bullets from the tommy gun toward the buildings behind him.
Two Shadow Hunters were cut down instantly. The others regrouped, and then started shooting back.
A few bullets cut through the air around Rose. She raised her guns to fire, but David snatched open the back door, snatched up Rose, threw her inside the back seat of the car, then jumped in the front before Rose could pull the trigger.
“Shoot at the other side. I’ll fire this way. We’re sitting ducks out there,” David yelled as bullets tore into the car.
Rose turned away from David; the windows were shattered, and glass lay on the seats as she crawled over it. She pointed both guns out and up before she began firing at the rooftops.
More bullets crashed into the car. Rose unloaded both guns at the rooftops. She reached for the duffle bag for more ammunition. That’s when the pain tore through her. It felt as if someone had hit her with a ball of hot wax on her shoulder. Rose had never felt pain like that before. She didn’t realize she was screaming until David grabbed her hand. He pulled her toward him as more bullets ripped through the Ford Falcon XA.
Rose felt her blood running down her arm before she saw it. Her body shook all over now. David’s words of heaven were lost to her. Nothing mattered but the pain, the unyielding pain ripping through her shoulder.
David ran his fingers through her long wavy hair. His blood, or maybe her blood, covered his hands. “It’s okay. You’ve just been shot for the first time. You’ll get used to it.”
David smiled at her. She would have smiled back, if it weren’t for the second bullet that tore through her thigh.
