Who are we?

We are you! Every day, more citizens all across Louisiana (and some even outside the state for some reason) join the Baton Rouge Tea Party. We are all just everyday working people who are not happy with the lack of leadership exemplified by our politicians both at the state and federal levels. We believe that to change this the American people must get involved and we are aiming to help the people of Louisiana and specifically Baton Rouge learn more about our state and federal political system for just that reason.

What is the Tax Day Tea Party then?

The Tax Day Tea Party is an event that we are coordinating that will happen on April 15th, 2009. Most Baton Rouge Tea Party members will be attending and many people who are not members will be attending as well. We invite you to go to our forums at http://batonrougeteaparty.net/forums to learn more about the event.

So what is your mission?

Primarily to bring Louisianians closer together and realize we are all a family sharing the same resources, land and leadership and that it is in all of our best interest to work together for the common good of all Louisianians and Americans. Most (if not all) of us have no formal political background and are realizing more everyday as we dig deeper, just how much we as a people have been entrusting to those who are supposed to be representing us. We hope that this organization will foster a spirit of excitement towards politics and the changes that can result when we each begin to value the change that we can expect when we all work together unanimously.

Are you Republican, Libertarian or what?

Most of us are conservative in nature; however, we all have different political affiliations (ie: republican, democratic, libertarian, constitutionalist, independent and others). Most importantly we share the common belief that by and large, Americans have left their futures entrusted to a small group for too long without paying close attention to what they are doing and that needs to change.

What's the bottom line?

We are simply the people in the community around you and we want America to remain the land of the free, the land our forefathers intended for it to be; forever.

President of the Baton Rouge Tea Party,

Robin Edwards
