A big thankyou to everyone who came to the first SYTYCHXCD and made the show a huge success!
You know the shows big when a band as talented as Northlane are opening, the venue was nearly half full already when they lit up the stage.
Next up were the young kids from Newcastle, Allay The Sea. They definately turned some heads in their direction and are sure to get more followers with thier display of huge breakdowns..
With the third act, Point Below Zero, came an injury in the pit that whoever seen would still be cringing at. Good on the guy in The Yellow Shirt for sticking around on the couch regardless of being whacked..
Break the Fall got more of the crowd loosened up into moshing with thier new material which alot of people were waiting to see and, needless to say, no one was dissapointed!
With this being their final gig for a couple of months, We Stand Alone made sure to leave the punters begging for more.. a tight set and huge crowd participation with the ADTR cover "2012" and thier own anthem "Hiptops..."
The crowd swelled to the front of the stage when The Chelsea Smile boys were setting up and it was starting to get to the point where you couldnt even see the performance from the back..no matter of course, evryone was keen to fucking mosh to some well and truely brutal material. What a set to show the rest of Australia what Sydney Hardcore has got to offer..
Ok, so the time has come in the night for the moment everyone has been waiting for..the return of As Silence Breaks..And the big question on everyones mind? Who the hell is going to replace Ant? Well they found their man and left people in the crowd not even knowing he'd left. What a huge task to take on the job as frontman of ASB, and can I say both personally and from the reaction of the crowd..A fucking job well done. Truely amazing vocalist and one that alot of people are going to want to hear more of..A big highlight of the night.
After 7 bands and many hours of moshing, the moment for headliners Resist The Thought to hit the stage had arrived. These boys have a big future ahead of them and cemented themselves as one of the most popular bands in Sydney with the biggest participation seen at a local Hardcore show. Literally wall to wall moshing and countless headbangers along the stage gave the boys all the power to bring the show home...and what an unforgettable moment to have about 50 people dancing after nearly 6 six hours as the brutal lyric ends their set.. "WE ARE..RESIST...THE...THOOOUUUGHHHHHTTTT"
Congrats to the moshers who won the prizes on the night. (They were handed out personally so vocalists didnt have to focus on watching them) Personally, I couldnt believe some of the stuff I seen. Flips, leap frogs and even someone swimming in the middle of a pit...
Let us know what you thought of the show and keep your eyes and ears open for the next one.. Thanks again for the support!
