Hello Good Friends and/or Evil-Doing Jerkfaces,

Hi. Okay. Sooooo.... just wanted to let you know I'll be playing this Saturday evening at 8pm (just after sunset, assuming it was mid-June or so and you were laying on the beach, drinking a beer, but it's not and you're not, so say....about 4 hours after cold, autumnal pitch-black darkness) at the wonderful Hall of Rockwood Music in NYC with my favorite band, my band:

Kate Foti, Max Divak, Chris Rodgers, Nils d'Aulaire, and, sitting in on upright bass once again, the talented Tom Mayer.

Please bring a small instrument or HotWheels-- car.

Saturday, November 17th - 8pm
Rockwood Music Hall
196 Allen Street (between E. Houston and Stanton)
*take the F or V subway to 2nd ave

AND A SIDE NOTE (ALRIGHT!!!!)
Please check out my dear friend Noah Gest's website. I grew up playing music with Noah. He recently moved to Sweden (where's it's snowing like Strawberry Frosted Pop Tart-- Sprinkles® falling to the kitchen floor) with his brother. In a matter of months, they have really made a name for themselves there and their band, the Aristocrats, have a brand new album out! It's hawaiian folk music and it sounds pretty darn amazing. I'm quite proud of them and I hope you check them out and maybe even buy a cd...

THANKS!!!

After 3,087 plays, I took down a cover my sister and I did of the wonderful Talking Heads song "This Must Be The Place" for no reason at all. It will be back at some point. I have replaced it with a traditional/Woody Guthrie-ish song called "Ramblin'." Thank you.

... due to silly Myspace technical difficulties. Weeeeeee! So I have replaced it, after 5,235 plays (thanks!) with an old demo of "Don't Wanna Work No More." It's about a girl I had a crush on in the 7th grade. No it's not. Anyway, enjoy, and I look forward to the day I can put some new recordings up here. It will happen. It will. Yes. Mmmhmm. It...will. IT WILL, OKAY! ENOUGH!

After a healthy run of 4,693 plays on Myspace, "This House Was Built" was retired from my playlist. At that point, a song tends to just break down, much like a catcher at the age of 35. That, and it just wasn't playing for some reason... trying to fix the Jersey song...

In the meantime, I've posted a live version of "Grove Rd." More live tracks to be posted soon...

SHOWS THIS WEEKEND! TWO! CHECK EM OUT the ol' HOME PAGE!

Thanks and see ya soon...

Friends and Enemies,

Y'ello. Just a quick statement suggesting that if you are not all that busy early this upcoming Saturday evening, perhaps you'd like to come out to the Rockwood and see a show of mine. Joining me will be my talently wonderfuled band....
Kate Foti (that's my sister),
Max Divak (not my sister),
Matt Kloss (likes my sister),
and once again, guest appearing on guitar and banjo,
Mr. Nils d'Aulaire (will be singing harmonies with my sister).

We will be thrashing through some new tunes and arrangements - and we are quite excited about it. For those of you who whipped out your kazoos and participated in our last Rockwood show, thank you. I'm sure your assistance will be needed again (Hint hint - bring your flugelhorns!) So please feel free to be there at 8 pee em. Hope to sees yous...

Jello,

I'd like to, and I will invite you (and I'm inviting you right now) to come-look-here-see how three bands will fit themselves, their roadies, groupies, upright basses, and humongous egos into one small, but great venue! Should be a really fun night - no cover! - hope to see ya there...and please, don't let the jams ever, ever end.

and by jams, i mean the production of these... http://www.jamsworld.com/jamsworld/dept.asp?s%5Fid=0&dept%5Fid=3822

So I deleted one of my favorite songs, "Wheat Day." I have come to realize that as a song gets more and more plays, it's tough to just go ahead and delete it - cause then if you want to repost it, it goes back to 0 plays. It was a nice run, but alas, it was time for some other songs to get their chance. For the record, "Wheat Day" had 1,225 plays. The two I added are not new, but they are off the album... I promise I'll get some new material up soon. I'm working on it OKAY!!?! Thanks for those who offered input on what song to delete!

Hey Myspace Family/Friends, Because the sometimes fine folks who created Myspace only allow musicians to post four songs at once, I am going to be deleting two songs - "Cross The Country" and either "Stayin' In Jersey," This House Was Built," or "Wheat Day." I will be posting newer stuff in two of the slots. I would like to know which one of those last three I should delete off this page. So PLEASE let me know which song YOU want OFF there!!! Seeing as how I can't even decide what brand of apple to buy and which baseball cards to throw out and which career path to take and what drink to drink - this is far too taxing a decision for me to make. Thanks for your time and response - I shall let you know which song is getting the boot! John
