We're very glad to announce that our most recent album "Shadows of the Shapeless" is soon being released in the US. Taking care of the release will be the good folks over at Seventh Rule Recordings (Buried At Sea, Akimbo, Sweet Cobra, Indian etc). The album will come in a different packaging than the euro version, and will be available in early March. More info soon. Taken from the Seventh Rule press release: Seventh Rule Recordings proudly welcomes Scandinavian doom lords Kongh to its eccentric family. Hailing from Sweden, Kongh brings doom metal with a progressive melting pot of ideas whose origins stem from the spirit of their godfathers -- Melvins, Yob, and Candlemass. The follow-up to their critically acclaimed “Counting Heartbeats” debut, “Shadows of the Shapeless” will be released by Seventh Rule to the North American region in early 2010. “Shadows of the Shapeless” was recorded and mixed in Sweden by Peter Lundin and mastered by Peter In de Betou (Entombed, Meshuggah). Kongh will be touring throughout 2010, including dates in Europe and the United States. Hear tracks from “Shadows of the Shapeless” here: www.myspace.com/kongh“In only five years of existence, Kongh has composed what may well be their masterpiece.” StonerRock.com"…don’t take Kongh for granted. This trio is the real thing. Their music makes sense." Deaf Sparrow "One of the best Swedish debut albums released since the turn of the century." KONGH COMPETITION / GIVEAWAY!So, in early 2008, Land O Smiles Records released a 5x7" box consisting of 5 split singles with heavy bands from all over the world. One of the singles was a Kongh / Witch-Lord split containing our song "Turn into dust". Apart from the 250 copies included in the (sold out) box set, 25 spare copies were sent to each band. For our 25 copies, we had a very limited sleeve designed, professionally printed and hand numbered. This ultra rare edition sold out in one show, but appearently 2 copies were forgotten in a dark corner of our rehearsal space and remained in an unknown vortex until a few days ago when we were looking for a non-broken cable. Instead of selling these we decided to make a little competition/giveaway here for our dear myspace blog readers.
Those singles are not all. We'll also throw in a copy of the rare Kongh / Ocean Chief split LP, as well as three copies of our new album on CD. All CDs and vinyls in this giveaway are unplayed and in mint condition. Any item can also be signed, upon a wish from the winner.
1st prize: Kongh / Ocean Chief split LP Kongh / Witch-Lord split 7" Kongh - Shadows of the shapeless CD
2nd prize: Kongh / Witch-Lord split 7" Kongh - Shadows of the shapeless CD
3rd prize: Kongh - Shadows of the shapeless CD
(If any of the persons who win already happen to own the CD, you can pick a t-shirt instead, or of course, a copy of our first album "Counting Heartbeats".)
So how do I win this stuff? Fuckin' easy. Just send a mail to competition@kongh.net with your motivation to the following: Which is the best horror movie ever made, and which Kongh song would make the perfect soundtrack for it?
Good luck! You can join the competition until friday, 27 November. Winners will be announced here shortly after.

Glad to announce that there'll be a Kongh tune on the next "Falling Down" compilation out in 2010. 2 cds featuring lots of unpublished tracks by great bands. This will be a little history lesson in form of a song from our old 2006 demo. This is the only Kongh song ever recorded which didn't end up on a real release yet actually, since two of the demo songs ended up (re-recorded) on our debut album and one ended up on a split 7". So yes, we're talking about the oldie but goodie called "Thunders collide"! More info as we get it. Check out the flyer.

While the european CD version has been up for pre-order for some time and will be released on May 15, some may have wondered if there will be a US version as well. Yes it will, but a few months later than the euro version, September to be exact. It will be properly released across the country by an awesome US based label - expect a full announcement soon.
Vinyl enthusiasts worldwide will get their wet fantasies satisfied as well, as French label MusicFearSatan will put out a 2xLP version in June. Looks like a limited edition of 500, with 300 black and 200 red vinyl. Keep checking our page (and the MFS page, find them among our top friends) for updates.
