AM 90 Presents Rodion in Rome

When the Air Max launched in 1987, it was a revolution. It became an instant classic, on and off the track.

Three years later this legacy led to the Air Max 90,which took its original concept literally to the max. The frame aroundthe air was designed to add support but was brightly coloured to bringeven more attention to the radical design of visible air. You couldn'tmiss it.

Over time, the Air Max 90evolved from a lightweight running shoe into original expressions ofstyle on different playgrounds, at different latitudes. It was anenergy that couldn't have been predicted. The Air Max 90 eventually became an icon adapted by athletes, performers and artists.

The AM90 Sound is the documentary of this journey, a tribute to a true icon. Legendary photographer Shawn Mortensen traveled across Europe, intercepting (or following) the frequencies of eight young music talents who share the Air Max 90 attitude in a genuine and personal way. From Paris (Sefyu) to Berlin (F.R. + Rampa), from Rome (Rodion) to Stockholm (Kissey Asplund), London (Maniac), Barcelona (Golden Bug), Amsterdam (Shinedoe), up to Moscow (Mujuice): each city with a different style, voice and landscape: Each artist a different soundtrack.

Classically trained pianist Rodionis one of the most talented and original artists to be working inItalian Music now. ‘AM90 Presents Rodion in Rome’ presents an intimateaudio portrait of the artist at his home studio in Rome. Rodiondescribes his musical biography from getting kicked out of the musicacademy right through to the influence of the Italian melodic traditionon the Rodion sound. With a little bit of help from the Gomma recordscrew, we get to grips with the creative process that leads to theunique and humourous Rodion sound.  For an alternativeperspective, legendary portrait photographer, Shawn Mortensen was onhand to document the process in celluloid and presents his experienceof the artist and the city in his 'Snapshot' feature. The showconcludes with an exclusive play of Rodion’s AM90 club track, ‘AthenaAcid’.

2008 has been quite a remixey year, so beside remixes for TELESPAZIO and THE MILLIONERS
and a scheduled one for my Berlin hero KHAN on his I'M SINGLE LABEL,
new remixes for VIVEK SHRAYA and MARK 4OSTIA are out NOW.
if you are into freaky falsetto and disco keytar action, you should maybe check them out :)



last but not least, GOMMA and NIKE are going to release a new 3 tracks RODION VINYL single
called ATHENA ACID. more news to come real soon...

The 'Romantic Jet Dance LP' will be out in October,
followed by a remix for Tomboy's hit 'Flameingo'.
Herr Trentemoeller did the other remix printed on the 12".
Last but not least Tiny Sticks will release a Rodion remix
for the Italian East Coast Disco king Fabrizio Mammarella
and his Telespazio project.
