As you may have already heard, 4ft Pimp have decided to call it a day. Many, many good times were had over the last seven years... Remember when we won the Coke & iTunes 'best unsigned band in the UK' competition, and when Tony Iommi dubbed the band his favourite unsigned act of 2007? How about the Club Riga Battle of the Bands victory? Our erstwhile chum the burglar box? The amazing Halloween Carnival at Chinnery's with Hector, our ghoulish Master of Ceremonies? Remember the time Rod Hull's Emu performed live on stage with the band, and when Greg whipped out his finest bone china tea set in order to serve a brew during one of Nick's scorching guitar solos? Auntie Greg's agony column? The time 1987 Snooker World Champ and Chas N Dave collaborator Steve Davis was in the crowd? The short-lived radio serial Lance The Boil? Graham's Diego Forlan impression? The scout badges, free condoms, and a surprisingly well-received meat raffle? And remember when Andrew went mental at the soundman from Riga? Ah, memories!
You can join us in a celebration of 4ft Pimp by sharing your memories of the band at Chinnery's on 26th July. This means you have one last chance to immerse yourself in your favourite 4ft Pimp songs whilst wearing weird fancy dress and pondering the pimps' oft erratic, always bizarre hard rock lunacy. To make the night even more memorable, you will be given a free commemorative 4ft Pimp CD upon entry! And with plenty more surprises to be announced, you just know the night will be amazing from start to finish.
And yes - 4ft Pimp has gone to pastures green, but new projects featuring various members of the band are currently active; if it is phenomenal guitar work you seek then you can still see Nick in action with the wonderful J Marie Cooper. If you think you'll miss Andrew's odd little nuances and drunken non sequiturs, feel free to keep up with his solo project, the Tumbledryer Babies. And you can still get a dose of Greg's fantastic songwriting and distinctive voice via his Feral Cats, a band which also features Nick on guitar and Andrew on bass.
So come along to 4ft Pimp's final hurrah and shout "farewell, 4ft Pimp!" with all the other well wishers. We'll bring the tissues, the commemorative CDs, prizes for the best fancy dress and our unique brand of aural pornography, you bring your person and your friends, and together we'll have a gay old time!

Last night we played at Chinnery's. It was a laugh. After us came the fantastic Bootsale Band and Kunt and the Gang - both these acts treated us to great sets. Thanks to everyone who came along and applauded our Thumb-Sucking Rock, and to those who bought a CD. Get yourself an eyeful of these beauties...

A big thankyou to all who came along to see us at the Ship last night, and an even bigger thankyou to 208 for letting us play at their xmas bash. A great time was had by all! There is video footage of the night on our youtube channel, which you can see by clicking HERE. If you did not attend and are wondering what you missed, here are some photographs of our nativity-themed bonanza:

See, bet you wish you'd come now eh? We're off to fatten up over Christmas, but we will try to rebuckle our belts and shed those turkey attained pounds for when we return to Chinnery's in January. Details of this, and any other gigs we have scheduled for the new year, can be found on our myspace page or at 4ftpimp.co.uk. See you in 2009!

With Christmas just one week away, we thought you should know that THIS SATURDAY will be your last chance to see 4ft Pimp this year. Yes, in order to celebrate the births of Annie Lennox, Sir Isaac Newton, Noel Redding and former Newcastle left back Robbie Elliott - and of course the little baby Jesus - we will be the support act at the 208 Christmas party at The Ship in Leigh! 208 are a mighty fine party band who you can find out about by clicking HERE or by coming along on Saturday. As well as hearing some tasty tasty rock music, you will bear witness to many festive surprises and the kind of deranged look at the holiday season you can only expect from 4ft Pimp. AND it's for charity! all proceeds from the night are going to The Prince's Trust, so you can feel charitable, aroused, confused and merry all at once! All the details can be found on the flyer below. See you there! 4ft Pimp. x

Hi there, London and surrounding areas!
We are playing at Bar Academy Islington on the 16th of this month and it's really important to us that we have as many pimp fans there as possible! It's an 'industry showcase' type of affair so a rousing reaction is, as usual, what we are aiming for. We're on at 9pm so if you're worried about missing the train, you'll be fine! Tickets are a steal at £4.50 and are available from us (get in touch) or it's £6 on the door.
Click here to see the page for this event on facebook, or visit 4ftpimp.co.uk for crucial details such as how to get there, which lagers are on tap at the venue, cloakroom policies, what make/model of air conditioner the venue uses and so on. You just know we will make it worth your while if you attend! [nudge nudge]
Don't forget about our xmas special either... it's on the last saturday before Christmas. Yes, we are supporting awesome party band 208 at the Ship in Leigh-on-Sea on 20th December! Details can be found on the flyer below. We've also got a Chinnerys date coming up at the end of January, but more on that once we're in 2009!

It will be a great show, and all proceeds from the night will go to the Prince's Trust. Full details below.
If you can't wait til Christmas to see some great live music in Southend-on-Sea, go and see our 3 favourite bands - Boog, Caleb and David Simon - at the Kursaal on 13th November. Full details of the gig can be found on any of the band's myspace pages.

Check this out - we've just put two tunes from the 4ft Pimp vault up on our myspace page... and you can download them for free! These rather old, previously unreleased and semi obscure recordings were seldom heard until now; both The Gurney Breakfast (the fourth sexiest song in the 4ft Pimp catalogue) and Head on Demand (written too late to have found its way onto the eponymous EP) were live favourites several years ago and were consequently recorded for an EP, but the disc never saw the light of day. Now, for the sake of posterity, we are giving two thirds of that aborted CD to you for free via the magic of the internet. Ah, that's ok! Don't mention it! Seriously, don't mention it again.
Othonastock II was a corker, thanks to all who came along and to those involved in the running of the event. We all had a smashing time. Have a look at these bad boys:

Good eh? Wish you were there don't you? There's always next year I suppose. Anyway, if you want to see 4ft Pimp any time soon you need to get down to Zinc Nightclub in Southend (26th Oct) and, at Christmas, The Ship in Leigh (20th Dec) where we will be seeing in Christmas with marvellous party band 208! There will probably be a few more dates added before the year is out but these two beauties are soooo on.
Until next time, motherfuckers!
