It's that time again when May morning has passed and thoughts turn to summer days and nights... First, thanks to everyone who came out for our CONVOY weekend, there were some great performances to whet our appetites for TRUCK festival. Many of those who appeared - including Calories, Grammatics, Pulled Apart By Horses, The Joy Formidable, The Xcerts, Dusty & The Dreaming Spires and Ute - will be back at Hill Farm in July. There are still tickets left for TRUCK, though they are selling fast- don't leave it too late to get yours.

First up though, and in just over a week's time we'll be circling the wagons at Braziers Park for WOOD!

There's a fantastic music line-up including Brakes, Dodgy, Karine Polwart, Spiers & Boden, Po' Girl, The Week That Was and Meic Stevens, workshops on everything from felt-making to composting, talks on Oak trees and earth economics, solar-powered fairground rides, a busy kids' tent, the radical midwives, the wood café, the Hippy Arms selling fine beverages... we could go on. It's a great way to welcome in the summer.

For those that really can't stand to camp, or can only make one day, we are putting day tickets on sale now, priced £18 for Friday and £23 for Saturday or Sunday. Click here to buy yours. They will be more expensive on the gate so it's worth buying yours in advance.

Weekend tickets are still available, priced £55, online and in local stores. Enjoy both TRUCK and WOOD by purchasing a Supertrucker ticket for £110, saving a tenner in the process.

If you don't like pitching a tent, and do like living like a Mongolian nomad, why not hire a yurt for WOOD, provided by the folks at www.yurtevents.co.uk. These can be booked via the ticket page on Wegottickets.

That's all for now, we're off to plant a living roof on top of the WOOD stage...

Dear Truckers,
We thought it was time for the first delivery of bands that are all
confirmed to play at TRUCK 12 on 25/26th July. Sorry, no Megadeth! but
we are pleased to announce some of our all-time favourite bands will be
appearing at Hill Farm, Steventon:
Local heroes SUPERGRASS will headline on the Sunday night, while ASH
shine a light and bring the hits to the Truck Stage on the Saturday.
Joined by the best new bands on the back of a truck, including RED LIGHT COMPANY and DETROIT SOCIAL CLUB.

Last year's favourites YACHT will play the Barn Stage in their only UK
festival appearance. Sunday is Rock-day in the barn, with AND SO I
WATCH YOU FROM AFAR, PULLED APART BY HORSES and CALORIES already
confirmed; DATA SELECT PARTY and many more will appear on the Saturday.
Over in the Beat Hive ERRORS, HELOISE AND THE SAVOIR FAIRE, CHEW LIPS,
SPORTSDAY MEGAPHONE and NERVOUS TESTPILOT are all confirmed.

Inspired by our succesful experiment at WOOD last year, The Market
stage will be run on solar power this year. It will feature new 4AD
signings BROKEN RECORDS on the Saturday, and on Sunday will be curated
by Steventon’s own Bob Harris, presenting GARY LOURIS & MARK OLSON
(The Jayhawks), PETE MOLINARI and MIKE HERON and GEORGIA SEDDON

Parking will be charged at £7 in advance (or £10 on the gate), for
which you'll receive a TRUCK monster ticket for your car windscreen!
This should ensure we avoid last year's traffic jam-
or why not avoid driving altogether? For the same price you can get our
bus service to and from the site. Buy your ticket from our ticket page or direct from Festival Coaches. Pick-ups are from Oxford or Didcot Parkway - if you're coming from further we'd recommend train to Didcot or bus to Oxford.
While purchasing your tickets online you can also pre-order your
festival merchandise, including our lovely T-shirts, hoodies and CD.
Yes, this year's design will feature the monster! You can also get a
handy programme and CD combo (the programme will again be a
high-quality edition co-authored with Plan B magazine). If you buy your
ticket in a shop you can still buy bus tickets and merchandise online afterwards.
In just over 2 months it's the second WOOD festival at Braziers Park
on May 15th-17th: a limited number of Supertrucker tickets are still
available, giving you access to both WOOD and TRUCK
and saving £15 in the process. Only a few left!
to buy yours.
We are able to announce some amazing names for WOOD:
Brakes and The Week That Was on Friday 15th May; Dodgy playing
acoustic on the 16th (check out their version of CSNY's Ohio for a
surprise- they had the market field packed at last year's TRUCK for a
joyous Good Enough singalong..) and the wonderful, award-winning Karine
Polwart in Sunday 17th.
All added to the already mouth-watering list of:
Spiers & Boden, Jim Moray, Po' Girl, Danny and the Champions,
Stornoway, Jonquil and KTB, as well as the usual array of talks,
workshops and activities, plus a new children's tent.
TRUCK line-up announcements will follow in the usual steady dribble
over the next few months... we promise you it's going to be awesome
(and we try to avoid saying awesome unless awe is actually inspired)
and in keeping with the legendary TRUCK spirit. Keep checking our
WEBPAGE
and
MYSPACE
for the latest...
Thanks folks,
Robin & the truckers
