Went to Columbus a few days ago to see Live, Collective Soul and last but not least Hana Pestle!! I am absolutely crazy about her music. Lemme tell you. This girl can sing, and she has a personality to match. Pure genius. So there's my shameless promotion. :D Check her out here.

We were in FRONT.

Then after we left the pit, we were in the back...

Hana met us in line at the venue before the show. I totally geeked out and couldn't speak for a good 60 seconds. After she played her set, we went to talk to her at her merch booth where she was signing autographs. She saved me her setlist!! After that, we went back to the crowd to see Collective Soul. "Shine" live is awesome by the way.

So here's me, Hana and Brittiny. This picture is just wrong, by the way, as my hair looks like I just rolled out of bed thanks to the fact that it was 95 degrees in the shade. But it's all good. Brittiny is wearing her shirt. At this point, I had changed out of mine at this point and into a black shirt. (MISTAKE!)

So yeah, Columbus. Like a mini-Chicago! We (me, my sister and friend Donna) stayed at the Renaissance downtown. That place was surreal... even better than the Renaissance in LA.

We felt like movie stars.

After the show we went back to the hotel and it was late, but we got ready and went to a place called Tip Top Bar & Grill.

I just had to show you my fan shirt and me in all my geekdom. And here are some other random pictures from the trip.

The set list.

Passed this nice little establishment just across the Ohio/Ky state line.

That's about all I have to say right now....

Since people have asked, I will tell & show you more about my trip to Los Angeles. Let me just say that leaving was bittersweet. I love the big city for many reasons, but I have decided that I could not live in one. At very least, it would be a difficult adjustment. I love the fact that in London, I can get in my car and drive to any destination of my choosing without much consideration to traffic and rush hour. I also love that there is a lot of greenery around here, whereas in California - not so much. Don't get me wrong though, Los Angeles has some very beautiful features which include palm trees running lengthwise down nearly every street and the most beautiful magenta flowers I have ever seen which practically drip off their vines on every stucco wall in the city.

We stayed in Hollywood, at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. It was pretty fabulous. Very modern, very hospitable. Had a few little minor disappointments with it, but overall, I was thrilled to be within walking distance of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theatre and The Hollywood & Highlands Shopping Complex. Also worth mentioning is that our room had a nice view of the Hollywood sign and the Hollywood Hills. Here are some pics of the hotel. Yes, these pics are enormous, but they must be for you to see the details.

The ASCAP songwriters convention was staying at the hotel while we were. Kandess and I met two songwriters who spoke to us briefly about their careers. One of them has a friend in Flogging Molly, and the other tipped us off that a gentleman sitting nearby was the songwriter of "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood. More pics...

Blurry, but who cares?

So yeah, I mentioned that the Hollywood Walk of Fame is nearby. It's on Hollywood Boulevard, which is one block from our hotel, and it stretches over 2-3 miles I think. Here are a few stars I located that I felt were photo-worthy.

LUCILLE BALL

ROD STEWART. This one's for Mom --- she's a fan.

CHUCK NORRIS

JOHNNY DEPP

SNOW WHITE. (At least some of you know why I took this pic. lol)

Also on Hollywood Boulevard is Grauman's Chinese Theatre. When I think of Grauman's I think of the episode of I Love Lucy where Lucy & Ethel hijack John Wayne's footprints. So naturally I had to get a photo of his square. To my surprise, he has very small feet.

And yeah, I put my  hands in Marilyn's handprints. Our fingers are exactly the same length, but my hands are chubbier. Did we have any doubt? No. LOL

Bear with me, I'm saving the best for last. But before I get there, let me just say that the bus system sucks. I have literally worked off 7 lbs in the past 4 days due to all the walking that was done around the city. And might I add... the spanish ghetto is no place to get lost. Not only could I not have gotten directions if I'd wanted to, but there are some shady figures that linger in those parts! So yes, we rode the bus a lot. And about the second/third time we got on, we figured out how to signal when we needed to request a stop. Haha. They should really put that cord in a more obvious place. Here are some random sight-seeing pictures that we took on Hollywood Blvd, Vine, Sunset Blvd and Rodeo Drive.

Okay. Now that all of that's out of the way, one of the funnest [yes, it's a word] parts of the trip was going to the 35th Anniversary Celebration for The Young & The Restless soap opera. I actually got to meet some of the stars. The auditorium where it was held only seated about 100 people, so being on the 3rd row, we had excellent seats. The cast was wonderful. No one was snobby or stuck up, and it was fun! I'm not a big fan of the Y&R, but I have watched it off and on with my mom for a couple decades, so I know some stuff about it. Here are those photos.

It was held at the Paley Center for Media [formerly the Museum of Television and Radio]. It's a fancyish building in Beverly Hills, 90210. One block over from Rodeo Drive.

That's the producer's son, who is a co-producer now. William J. Bell Jr. Yes -- THE William J. Bell Jr.! And the only picture you are going to see of me in this whole album is a blurry pic of me with Joshua Morrow (who plays Nick Newman and is quite good-looking!)

So there you have it folks! A picture is worth a thousand words, so I think that's all I really need to say about the trip. The flights to and fro were excruciating. No more 5+ hour flights for me please. Here are some obligatory airplane pictures: One, Two and Three.

It was an awesome trip, but muy expensivo! And I'm glad to be back home. :) Cheers.
