Boston 2009: Faello Nor appeared out of the ashes of Monera after the meeting of the two remaining members and the drummer on fire from Izzi Creo. The trio quickly got to work furiously composing while booking their first shows under their new identity with bands such as The Antietam, Antartic, Chorus and the Wolf and Battlefields and Rosetta. The fruit of their labor became available in July 2009 on the digital EP Solus Affairs.
From destruction (sometimes) is born creation, the duty to invent or reinvent. You can mope around or take matters in hand and seize the opportunity. It is in this spirit that Solus Affairs was born. The orphans of Monera that committed hari-kari a few months earlier, these two thirds of the boys from Boston found refuge under the benevolent wing of Faello Nor. The method and the approach – from the beginning of the end of the last band – are a little different but the overall elements remain the same, with the exception of the drummer. [Pleasure, sunlight, screams and fun.] More perhaps than before.
Rather than complaining or feeling sorry for themselves, Monera set their sights on reincarnation, in the guise of new band from Boston, and several months after meeting Dan Romans, Solus Affairscame to be. Of Monera, one remembers a trio of restless musicians, as much actors as spectators in their own delirium, taking a malicious pleasure in making their melodies bounce around and go on without end, constantly tweaking them in order to change the perspective and the perception, to see the result of the shadows created by shadows. A sort of festive, screaming, emo catharsis created in good fun, highly recommendable overall.
Solus Affairs is the opposite, more calm, more intimate: Faello Nor is the other face of the boys from Masssachusetts. The musical production is inviting with accessible and superb indie accents on the opening number Snailfox, there is every reason to believe it! And in fact, even if these 3 little titles keep coming back to you, explode regularly with happiness, enthusiasm, twirl and spin freely, the duo + one seems now to have quieted down; their mission more reflective. As if they had gone through something and come out the other side better for the experience. As if their previous incarnation, although liberating, was now the genesis of this renewal, the freedom of style derived from the training they had acquired. Faello Nor works their effects, sings true and clear as well as shouts, tames the beast at the heart of their torment (Having profound nightmares while disguised as Jack Nicholson), blurs their bouts of eccentricity, transfers their excess of energy in the interpretation toward the composition, condensing their intentions. The sign of a training that, far from collapsing willy nilly with the change of a line up, seems to have taken the high road and taken their music to a higher level. Less abrupt and abrasive (which was one of the great qualities of Well Dressed Ghosts), Faello Nor continues to cultivate their art of stop & go, refining the music and themselves and channeling even more their desire to give all. Even if the end comes with an unpleasant feeling of not being enough, we already have the feeling that this little band will be big. See you in 2010.

We're booking/have booked shows for the next few months. Some local, some as far as New Jersey and Vermont. We're excited to be playing out a bunch. We also have some tentative plans to record some newer material soon. We will most likely contribute these recordings to a split. Aside from that and a million other behind the scenes responsibilities we are writing new material to assault you with. Livin' la vida loca.

9/22/09We are very excited to announce that we have partnered with Steven Ramos as our manager. Steven is a good friend of ours and he's DAMN good at what he does. In other news - We're currently writing new material, booking shows, and starting the first phase of pushing the band to the next level. Big things are just around the corner. BAM!

Our friend Wes Kelly (he recorded Solus Affairs) just departed for Nashville. He's moving down to Tennessee to conquer the industry. We wish him the best of luck! If you're looking for a good engineer and/or a monster bassist in Nashville get in touch with Wes. His contact is on this page.
We posted a video of one of our new songs called "Lavender". The video is from our August 24th show at Great Scott. Check it out.
At the end of the month we're playing with Henry Gale, the Baltic Sea (ME), and Document (NY) at O' Brien's. Document was recently added to this bill - awesome! They are good friends of ours and they're a hell of a band. The show is being hosted by Extinguish and we're super excited to play it! Spread the word and come on out!

8/14/09 We're playing a show at Great Scott on August 24th with Peter and the Wolf, the Sparta Philharmonic, and one more band. I guess that is stated in hope that you (the reader) will attend. We have been busy with poorly timed personal life obligations and preparing to move on the disgustingly dreadful SEPTEMBER FIRST but come mid September we will be more present.
We're continuing to work on new material and setting up a few shows for Autumn. Until then - keep your eyes peeled, keep your bananas peeled, and most importantly - keep your wallets peeled W I D E open in order to carelessly and effectively grab many cash dollars at once with one hand and stuff them into our underpants as we play our faces off for you (the audience member) at Great Scott on August 24th. Be there. Love you. Mean it.
