Boy what a day. Paul Whitehead of Kula Shaker was amazing, the seems to be nothing he cannot do and after we finished the session we really tried. I was just watching him put down drums to guide vocals and guitar and it was a real priviledge. He was kind enough to agree to play live when needed, knowing full well support acts do not get paid and this was a real honour for me. We are geting quite the supergroup together with him and Issac of Jemilia fame, lets hope they do not find a new singer!. The engineer Alan Emptage was very happy he said very little all day just smiled and gently nodded his head - no discount of course!

A much better performance, practice really does work. It was very different from paying out doors. The gig was very intimate as I played in the upstairs room to people dining with a screen and speakers to the downstairs part. It was a pleasure to play there and the audience were fantastic, got rid of some cd's it is such a wonderful feeling when people want to listen to your music - some even knew the words

The 11th of May was a good day, my first Radio show as performer rather than a property analyst and I even managed to perusade the DJ not to play 50 Ways to leave your Lover but one of my songs. He played Alone Again. I got there an hour early to warm up and was on the Radio for a mere 10 minutes but it was excellent fun and everyone at BBC 3 Counties made me feel very welcome.

If you want to hear it the link is http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/p003086q

In the evening I played at the Barn at the Cock Inn as Sarratt. Luckily for me two acts could not play so I got my slot extended. It taught me a good lesson as I was woefully under-prepared to sing more than the 5 songs I was expecting.

The other two acts were great, if you are into the Folky Folk you will love what goes on in the barn at the Cock Inn

First live performance is along time was at the Drawing Room in Chesham 2nd May in the afternoon. First time I have had to climb on stage with a ladder! The crowd was a delight and with friends in the front I managed to play well enough for nobody to leave. The owner Richard made sure everything was relaxed. Played songs off my Full Circle Album (of which I managed to shift 10 copies of), Alone Again, C'est La Vie, Hey there and For Gods Sake. I very much enjoyed listening to the other acts and I am very sorry I did  not get a chance to mingle as one of the pleasures of playing live is the meeting of other artists!

I made sure I did not make the same mistake in the Evening performance and hang out with all the muso's, especially Fyrefly who were kind enough to ask me to join their table.

I felt the evening performance mainly to the encouragement I got from some of the afternoon crowd was significantly better than the afternoons performance. I am delighted to say that the performance got me an offer to play more both at the Drawing Room but also elsewhere which when the date is finalised I will post on myspace. Thank you very much to all who showed up - I feel I am up and running!
