i posted a few videos craig sent me from a show we played at Milly's recently with Lowell Mason. The two songs are 'Walden' and 'You, My Love' and they will both be on the new EP. Stay tuned for the release date. eat your vegetables.

Recording for the new EP has begun at Rocking Horse Studio in Pittsfield, NH. Producer Brian Coombes, Dave Pierog, Joey Pierog and I spent the day on sunday capturing bass and drums for the six songs that will make up my first studio release. It's a marvelous studio tucked in the scenic hills of Rt. 28. Such a relaxed environment..definitely nice to escape Nashua.

So things went very well and recording resumes on saturday october 4th and will wrap up the next day, so stay tuned for updates on track listing and the upcoming release date!

punching time cards at the gas pump

there's a thickness to the coat
that's warming up my soul

in the shadow of the groundhog
i was sleeping like a rock
oh the flowers in your hair have hit my nose

competing for positions
that don't need an education
the politicians drag us out of bed
with fundamental postcards
from the countries of our field trips
it feels like this is time to fight again

but you grab me by the collar
and remind me of my father
the way you shake the violent thoughts out of my fists
and the haste out of my throat
then you relieve me of my coat
your warmth shows me that love just might exist

you say a boy will need a girl
if he plans to save the world
and that two minds can defeat a beast with one
and while your points may keep me humble
they just ensure that i wont stumble
or fumble all the progress we've begun

i just cannot stand the headaches
that come from lights which shine too brightly
so i wear a hat and arm myself with blinds

your presence often leaves me speechless
unless i sneak a peek at christmas time
and time again you show me what's inside

know that sometimes i'll seem baffled
so please don't mistake me for impatient
if i misplace the keys it takes to see some change
and wake me in the morning

and we'll remind each other why we're driving home

notebook in hand
speech in my ears
and hope in my stance
a foggy midnight air
and defeat on my face
the streets were warm and empty
the veins of this state
sleep in a cage for which I haven't the key
as if calm were the candy taken from me.
amidst the circus of puppets

lack of sleep was literally drowning me
