"

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD IN ANYWAY YOU CAN!!!

Random Luck CD Release /DJ KUTFATHER Fundraiser
in loving memory of Lakesha Renee Kearse

To Whom It May Concern:

To all our friends and those who know DJ Kutfather, we are holding a fundraiser for DJ Kutfather, who is a San Diego Legend and very well respected amongst his peers. Kut's wife passed away yesterday unfortunately and to make the situation even more devistating Kut is confined to a wheel chair with limited mobility. His wife was his best friend as well as his caretaker, so we are going to turn our scheduled record release party into a fundraiser so that we can make the changes that Kut may experience in the future a bit easier on him. The reason are sending you this letter is to request any help you may be able to offer, mainly on the informative/promotion level. We only have the ability and budget to press up 2500 flyers and get the word out to limited people and we believe that this should be on a bigger scale than what we can accomplish in two weeks with strictly word of mouth and footwork. Very limited budget to promote this Fundraiser and get enough people to come out and show support for Kut who was scheduled to man the 1 & 2's to celebrate Randam Luck's Debut Album Release on New York based Babygrande Records originally scheduled to be held @ Deco's in the Gaslamp Sat May 24th. We are still hoping that Kut will have the strength to come out and showcase his talents and be rewarded by us showing him that the San Diego Hip Hop Community can come togther and help each other out in times of loss and hardship. Any questions may be directed to Jimmy Powers @ 619-395-1151 or Lucky Martinelli @ 858-248-2002. Thank You very much in advance for your consideration.

"VERY IMPORTANT PETITION: Will take 5 mins but make a difference!

A UK company is currently placing online colonial records of 3.000.000 Africans, relating to their enslavement. This is a corporate attempt to cash in on the increased interest during the bicentenary year. African people and descendants of slaves should not have to pay for such a service. This should be a free to view document, with all records being made public so the history can be known by all. Please sign this petition to get all govenment records made available free of charge to everyone.

Please sign the petition for free access to these historical records:

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/freeaccess/

Deadline to sign up by: 04 May 2008 – Signatures: 5,610 (at time of writing)

...."Be part of the ’significant few’ and NOT the ’insignificant ’ many"   "

WARRIOR FM SUPPORTS THIS PETITION - PLEASE SUPPORT IT ALSO.

We live in hope we can learn from the past and not repeat the bad things from history in future - or blatently profit from other peoples’ misery be it today or from yesteryear.

Thanks Michael for the info.

Thanks for supporting.

Hi all,

As some of our digital-djs.com friends will be aware there are changes afoot at the ddjs site.

We wish Sask, Nina and all @ ddjs well as they prepare for the next phase in ddjs - ddjs MkIII & we thank them for their continued help & support of Warrior FM and can confirm we will be in the ddjs family & supporting ddjs as it enters the next phase :)

In this interim period this means the ddjs site may be offline as it is now, so as a temporary measure we have a chatroom up on this warrior fm myspace front page so you can interact with your wfm djs and friends while the shows are live - the chatbox is located just below the player on the right of the front page of this warrior fm myspace.

Or use this link to enter the chatroom: http://widget.meebo.com/mcr.swf?id=HjfaEXKlGl

Apologies for any inconvenience while these changes go through  - there maybe more items like a new stream or permanent chatroom to follow - we will keep you informed of those changes.

& remember when our live shows are off air - you can hear warrior fm 24-7-365 on our podcast free mp3 service - new items have just been added - check them out at:

Thanks,

Re:

"James Brown collaborator Bobby Byrd dead at 73

By BO EMERSON

Published on: 09/12/2007

Bobby Byrd, arranger and collaborator with funk legend James Brown for 50 years, off and on, died Wednesday of cancer in his Loganville home. He was 73.

Byrd met Brown in Toccoa, where Brown was serving time in a juvenile facility for burglary. Brown pitched for the prison baseball team, and his team played against Byrd's team.

James Brown and Bobby Byrd's gospel group eventually morphed into the Flames, which became James Brown and the Famous Flames.

The two talked about music; both were fans of gospel. Byrd and his family helped arrange for Brown's early release in 1952 by guaranteeing they would provide him a job and a place to stay.

Brown and Byrd's gospel group eventually morphed into the Flames, which became James Brown and the Famous Flames.

Byrd contributed vocals, keyboard work and guidance to many of Brown's hits, and the two worked together for decades – a relationship that was productive, if also stormy and marked by lawsuits.

It is Byrd's voice that can be heard, along with Brown's, on the hit "Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine," and on "Licking Stick."

Byrd sang at Brown's 2006 funeral along with his wife, Vicki Anderson, who was also a member of Brown's touring band for many years.

The couple were married in 1970, and James Brown's father was a witness at the wedding, Anderson said Wednesday in an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

She said that of the songs written by her husband, "Baby, I Love You" was her favorite.

"That was the first song that he wrote for me," said Anderson, 67.

Byrd sued Brown a few years ago to get royalties for songs he said he wrote but for which he was never paid. The lawsuit was thrown out for a lack of timeliness, Byrd said in an interview with the AJC earlier this year.

Anderson said she and several family members were home with Byrd when he died, around 1:30 p.m. Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, which are to be announced."

"GO TO THIS PAGE AND SIGN THE PETITION ON THE JENA 6 SITUATION. PLEASE DONT ALLOW THIS MOMENT TO PASS WITHOUT REACTING POSITIVELY! THESE ARE OUR CHILDREN! REACH OUT REACH BACK!

http://www.petitiononline.com/aZ51CqmR/petition.html  "

Re:

"Dear Governor Blanco,

I am writing to request your intervention into a situation of great injustice taking place in Jena, LA, as well as a written response to this letter.

Last fall, when two Black high school students sat under the "white" tree on their campus, white students responded by hanging nooses from the tree. When Black students protested the light punishment for the students who hung the nooses, District Attorney Reed Walters came to the school and told the students he could "take [their] lives away with a stroke of [his] pen."

Racial tension continued to mount in Jena, and the District Attorney did nothing in response to several egregious cases of violence and threats against black students. But when a white student--who had been a vocal supporter of the students who hung the nooses--taunted a black student, allegedly called several black students "nigger", and was beaten up by black students, six black students were charged with second-degree attempted murder. Last month, the first young man to be tried, Mychal Bell, was convicted. Later this month, he will be sentenced to up to 22 years in prison for a school fight.

I would like to believe that what is happening in Jena is not consistent with your values, or with what the State of Louisiana sees as justice. I have asked District Attorney Reed Walters to drop all charges against the five young men awaiting trial. You should act immediately to prevent the sentencing of Mychal Bell--the young man who has already been convicted--via a pardon if necessary. And you must investigate the conduct of District Attorney Reed Walters, whose actions are a blatant and unacceptable abuse of power, to begin the process of healing in Jena and to make sure this never happens again.

Respectfully,

[your name here] "
