Bryan is in town for the weekend, so we've booked a very rare (as in half-baked) Bastards show!

Sun 6/8
4:00pm - 7:00pm (not 3 - 6 like J. Walter's email said)
TBD Brooklyn (224 Franklin St between Eagle St & Freeman St Brooklyn [Green Point])
featuring:
Jon "Capt Ahab" Dryden - Accordian & Sangin'
Bryan "Park" Miller - Guitar, Banjolin, & Sangin'
J. Walter "Bullpork" Hawkes - Trombone, Ukulele, & Sangin'
food - drink - music

Also, we finally took the damn xmas songs down, and put the old songs back up.

Well, old bastard Preacher Boy is returning to the useless bastard fold. Come to see us at Steinhof and see the original lineup. I've also written a new song for St. Paddie's Day: 'Long Island ice teas all night for bullPork.' It's even worse than it sounds.

Current mood:pensive and anxious
This is Jon Captain Ahab Dryden here, accordionist for the UBs. We got together in a strange way: I found a local bar that wanted to start having music, so I got the idea to put this band together, drawing from the myriad of musical scenes I've been around in my fourteen years of playing music in NYC. The motto of this band is :' Songs everyone loves on instruments nobody likes', or something to that efffect. Our original incarnation, with Preacher Boy, (now retired and living in a shack on the Long Island Sound) consisted of some fairly usless instruments: banjo, mandolin, banjolin, ukelele, trombone, washboard- you name it. And ocassinal guest Saw Bastard brought in the beauty of his singing saw and alto sax. Obviously, we're not taking ourselves too seriously, which can be a great relief from some of the other more intense gigs we all do at times. Drinking is encouraged, as is whoopin', something Bryan has become very good at. Enjoy the tunes and go to: uselessbastards.net to join the emailing list. Yar! Jon
