Atlanta is a great music town, and I took full advantage of that tonight and used an all Atlanta band.  I even had a 21 year old sax player, Ryan Whitehead, sit in on tenor sax.  He was great, and the band rocked.  This photo is of me with Nakato Blair and Babidiyae Robinson, who gave me my first gig in California with their band “Allure”. They live in Atlanta now, and we’ve always remained friends.   Thanks for giving me a shot way back when!

Today’s concert was more than just a show, it was a benefit for disabled children.  Thanks for filling up The King Center and helping out a great cause.  Thanks to Cindy Adams for this photo of Jay and me.

It’s always fun to be in Atlanta, even if I’m up really early in the morning!  I played “Mojo” on the air, and then shopped in Little Five Points and hung with friends!

Always a favorite of mine…you can’t go wrong with sushi and jazz.  We even did a $5 matinee for the kids.  My favorite part was when I opened up the floor for questions, one little boy pointed to our keyboard player Kevin and asked “What does he do?”  Love that.

I could talk about the show, and  how there were people on blankets and chairs as far as the eye could see.  But my inspiration?  The ribs.  Incredible.  Really!  Can we make this stop every year?  Can we be the house band?  Thanks to Tom Bordonero for this photo.

I’ve co-hosted all week for the morning show for 107.5 The Oasis.  What a fun job, being on the air live every morning.  Thanks to everyone who called in and got in on the fun.  I even swam with the sharks on my time off!

After soundcheck, the band and I headed to the end of Oceanside Pier and took advantage of the view from there to eat some lunch.  The show tonight was inspired …probably by the incredible surroundings and the incredible audience.  Peter White told me after the show that it was his best and favorite show this year!  WE even got barefoot and climbed up on the speaker stacks to play.  It seemed like the right thing to do!  Thanks to Cassie, a grade-school friend of Jay's for this candid of me peeking out from backstage before the show.

It’s that time of year…. 103 degrees again as we hit the stage today.  My father came with me today to watch the show.  He’s my sax tech and biggest fan!  Thanks to Cary Gillaspie for this photo of Dad.

 Wow, today was a hot one – it was 103 degrees from the stage.  I did a wine tasting before the show, and of course ordered a case of my favorites to ship home.  The Rockaway is amazing…very limited edition.  What a find!  The band and I probably had too much fun today!
