Current mood:  inspired

Lets measure some live music.... everything else in life appears to be numbered!  Music needs to be live, enjoyed and shared, Audience matters.... they share experiences and spread the word about you.

Who have you seen live in the last 3 months?, where? How was it for you?  Can we build a register or chart of Shows/Artists/Bands who have rocked your socks? Inspired your own performance? How do you sell your own shows?  So many questions I know but live performance is also a product your thoughts here or to sue.marchant@bbc.co.uk

Current mood:  determined

Is in the last week!  I no longer do sunday mornings on BBC Northampton I have had almost 3 years of getting up early on a Sunday morning, as much as I loved my show and all the people who have worked on it it is time to rest and oh I am tired! After a gig or a night out to be up so early sustaining my brain after a few hours sleep needed to be addressed, so a lay in big time this Sunday on Mummys day!  Stanleydog has a new friend called  Lola she's not a showgirl but an 11 month old Jack Russell lady whose former owner developed asthma and she needed a home........... so it was love at first lick and they say that having a puppy regenerates you, blimey my legs are all walked off!  Have had some great guests recently and will continue to deliver a mix of the known and the not so known into my program five nights a week. It is a pleasure to discover so many wonderful and inspired beings and thier music or passion.

It was great to meet my colleague this week Nick Risby who I have been talking to for almost two years on air, I had one of those put a face to a voice moments, such a super chappie with a large great Dane. Nick is an awesome broadcaster with a wonderful personality and I am in awe of his strength after a devasting time recently, we all survive with courage and a big heart, he is on after me from 10pm till 1am.

I also have been gigging myself in spite of getting distemper and a virus, a day off is to be treasured I am learning, my mum isnt so good at the moment and a couple of trips to the hospital forthcoming, my car is still in the garage after 7 weeks but there is hope in everything, keep positive I am forever telling myself........... hope it works keep smiling always.

Current mood:  peaceful

What a year it has been and how my life has evolved.  I am still here, sadly on this day 11th Jan one year ago my sweet little Chicken Lily never recovered at the vets from having her sinus tubes cleared.  The photo raised money for BBC Children in need last year, and a huge thanks to the people as mad as me who joined in. I am no longer in a position to keep chickens any more but they are the most amazin creatures and Lily became a radio star... Pink Martini's 'Lily' always recalls the memory of my dear little friend. One of my Editors rang in on air to exclaim 'oh no! not the chicken' ... Losing a friend is not the best experience yet we do gain an undoubtable warmth from people we connect to thats unconditional and we have so much to give......a smile is the greatest gift.

Have a grinning weekend!

A complete pic n' mix, you only discover what you like or how to overcome aversion once you taste it, then the cosmos says 'do nothing, let it happen... and it does'  For whatever reason stay positive!

I had the pleasure of calling Radio ledgend Keith Skues 'Darling' when I used to do my nightshift show he is still so out there and such a lovely person.

Back onair on the 11th October.

Current mood:  cheerful

A funny couple of weeks has just past, my dear Daddy breaking his hip and recovering like an eight year old instead of an 85 year old and my mum still struggling from her fall but their love for each other is just amazing, how lucky I am that I was made from all of that.

So lucky to have had some wonderful guests on my show over the past few months, all to say how much they love their life being creative and ever hungry to perform. Talent cannot and should not be suppressed by anyone.

The cosmos is vast and full of great things...... fear not.....let it happen.

Where ever you are know that I love you.

Current mood:  cheerful

I love my motors and more recently have become accustomed to riding in recovery trucks! Last week my camper recovered from Kettering after a brilliant weekend at the Colne great British R & B festival, thank heaven it got me there, but is now wallowing with oil leaks galore awaiting repair...... and last night my beloved Custard who didnt want to return me back from work with the lights on.

Had some great guests recently the Foster Kids last night who are very entertaining.  At least my Beetle now has an MOT and loads of new bits after costing me a fortune, suppose motors are cheaper than men!!!!
