I don't know about anybody else present, but the last show The 2.0s did with LiveNights @ Marcello's Bar & Grill (July 17th, 2009), was absolutely stellar!

Sure, we didn't have the biggest audience at the time, but I want to elucidate one moment I had whilst I was there listening to the awesome funk jams of LiveNights...

I realized there were a lot of other shows being played in the area and that not a lot of people can make every show, but that didn't really seem to matter.  We felt that we played one of the best shows we've played so far.  On top of that, it was so much fun which reminds me that after all the self-promoting, all the hoop-la over whose band has more attention, if you're not having fun, why are you doing it?

This was more to the point of the moment I had: No one was taking pictures (although it had been suggested), No one was videotaping (also suggested), there is no hard record that the night even took place.  But I will say this, for those that were present, there something wonderfully intimate and magical about the performances and the spirit of the evening.  This is not some justification for a shitty-showing, for there were a fair number of people there, and out of those people, the night was something unforgettable... unless you drank too much ;)

In truth, I hardly ever get up, let alone dance at a show.  But after The 2.0s had completed our set, we sat down and relaxed, waiting for LiveNights to begin.  When they did... dear god.  I wolfed my meal down (as I'm often hungry after I play) and got my ass out on the little dance floor in front of the LiveNights performers.  I was out there from when I stood up until the very end when they played 3 songs longer than they had intended to.

Out there, shaking my bony-booty, making people laugh with my sly dance moves, the spirit of the place was undeniably warm, fun and happy.  It's very rare that a show will do that, at least for me.

LiveNights was simply wonderful, and I think people owe to themselves to check out this band.  Made up of six talented people, you won't know what hit you until they kick in with a tightness and chemistry that is anything but trite.  It was an honour for The 2.0s to play alongside LiveNights.
