Ok,  I admit it.  Georgia has some seriously violent mosquitoes.  I mean vicious.  Bloodthirsty. We're talking drain your veins in minutes...   I stopped for a recharge at the Human Resources Office in Darien at the Bluestein's plaza.  Had some time to kill and Fort King George sounded really interesting!  My online maps showed it wasn't all THAT far a walk...  90 degrees, 90% humidity- no problem...  Five miles, a little more than I am used to, but again not an issue.  Then I spotted a Memorial for the gravesite of the last slave in Darien, GA.  I wandered the little trail back 50 ft into the woods to get some photos.  Monday afternoon, I donated a pint of blood to the Florida Blood Centers.  This afternoon, I donated a pint of blood to the Darien airforce.  Those little winged vampires are deadly!!  I walked on to Fort King George and had a very interesting visit and got some nice shots. (Midday lighting with cloud cover, not the best lighting for photos)  Then it was back to the car.  Skeeters all the way!!!

    But,     It Was Worth It!

I had two gentlemen spot the car this morning as I recharged at the St Augustine Record newspaper offices and stop by to say hello and get photos.  The first fellow got a couple of cell phone shots from his motorcycle, (If you read this, email me your address and I will send you a collection of pens, tire gauges and keychains from my goody bag, sorry I didn't do it this morning)  The second, Mr. Jim Bailey got some video and still shots and I have posted a photo of him in the car!  (with his permission)  I am now recharging in Jacksonville, FL at the Florida Times UNion newspaper offices and I have to say I am having the Time Of My Life!!!

Please pardon my failing mind...  But, I would like to give a Special Thank You to the two Ladies at the Brevard County Commission District 1 for helping me locate my much needed recharge point at Pat Fischer Nissan.  I couldn't have done it without you.

Had a good might sleep and hit St. Augustine about 5:30am.  Recharging at the Florida Times Union  and St. Augustine Record newspaper offices.  Thanks much to Mr. Ellis and Mr. Dematteo for the assist.

Hit the second stop in north Vero Beach and with that charge did a bit of hypermiling and I am just south of Cocoa Beach recharging at the Florida Today/USA Today newspaper offices watching the sunrise.

Well, the first leg is in the bag!!  A whopping 30 miles up the road from a fantastic send off, I am parked at the Stuart News Center plugged in and recharging.  I expect to depart here at about 6:30 this evening and head for stop number two...

D-Day Approaches!!  Monday at High Noon!!  We will have the big send off!!  News conferance at 11:30am with food by Enzo's Italian.  Then I hit the road......
