Dateline (New York City) – Auld Lang Syne ring tones are the hot new holiday trend with millions sending "Auld Lang Syne" ring tones to their family, friends and loved ones prior to mid-night on the last night of the year, so that they can ring in the New Year! Anyone with a cell phone can send Auld Lang Syne to their loved ones.

The internet's top ringtone content provider Myxer.com is offering their most downloaded Auld Lang Syne ringtone (Scott West's) for FREE this year and you can send it to any cell phone with ring tone capability at:

http://www.myxer.com/ringtone:227941/

or Text "SCOTTWEST 2" to 69937 (MYXER) to get your FREE Auld Lang Syne Ringtone. West's Auld Lang Syne has been cited by critics around the country:

Best Auld Lang Syne Recording:
"Auld Lang Syne" Scott West & Sex On Sunday (November 2006) featuring Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon with Sex On Sunday's Scott West, this version of Auld Lang Syne begins with West's dynamic piano and strings swelling into Hannon's searing guitar work. West's arrangement deserves top honors for its beautiful textures, riveting crescendos, fueled by the magnificently fresh power and tone of Hannon's burning fret-work. This warm arrangement brings an edgy, contemporary sophistication to the song, making it the best recording of this holiday classic."

SAY HELLO TO THE SOUNDS OF 2008
"If you think hearing "Auld Lang Syne" on New Year's is bound to be ho-hum, you're humming the wrong tune. On the Web, you can find a myriad of exciting alternative renditions for the stroke-of-midnight classic, including the riveting arrangement by Scott West and Sex On Sunday featuring poignant piano and soaring electric guitars."

"Hot on the heels of his recent radio success, featured artist Scott West brings a project of major magnitude to music lovers all over the map! "Stevie Ray" is a genuine tribute to the legendary and forever-incredible blues rocker, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Scott shows his reverence for the legend by assembling an all-star cast of serious studio and live musicians, including guitarist Chuck Williams (winner of Epiphone's 'Guitar Solo' competition), Josh Eagan (Pink/Steve Lukather) on drums, Daniel de los Reyes (Sting/Sheryl Crowe/Don Henley) percussionist, James Baker (War/Edgar Winter) on guitars, and Tommy Shannon, the bassist in Stevie Ray's former band, Double Trouble! What you wind up with here is a stellar homage to one of the best guitarists of all time!"

STEVIE RAY (Words & Music by Scott West)
Well I was cutting down through Texas
Back down Austin way
When I pulled into this honky tonk
Where Stevie used to play
Who's that boy playing guitar?
It sounds like Albert King
Cause no one else can cut that phat
Like Albert's pinky ring

Cept Stevie Ray boy
He could play boy
Stevie Ray boy
Play it like Stevie Ray

Well I waited there in line
Bout three hours long
When I got inside of Antones
They were packed like sardine cans
Don'tcha got a Fire Marshall?
Dontcha care about their age?
We got a Fire Marshall son.
He's up there on that stage."

That's Stevie Ray boy
He could play boy
Stevie Ray boy
Play it like Stevie Ray

It's been thirty years since Stevie
Walked up on the stage
Went back down to Antones
House that Stevie made
Little girl behind the bar said,
"Boy tell me bout your sound.
Can you cut like Stevie Ray, boy?
Can you lay it down?"

Like Stevie Ray, boy
He could play, boy
Stevie Ray, boy
Play it like Stevie Ray!

Dateline (Austin)  SXSW
We would like to thank our many fans and friends in Austin that came out to see us at SXSW. We could not have had a more enjoyable SXSW experience. (We've got SXSW pictures posted from our trip)

Thursday March 13, 2008:
We rolled into Austin after driving 36 hours straight through from our California tour! With less than 4 hours sleep in the prior 72 hours, Scott Rich and I went to Gibson Guitars Office on Congress Ave (waiting for our band mates to contact us). We made time at Gibson hanging out with "The Wombats" and the folks from Apple Music and Yahoo Music. The Wombats were shooting a great set of songs. Scott Rich discussed the current state of music in America and London with The Wombats, their A/R rep and their film crew.

Scott and I were under the weather from the lack of sleep, but went to Ruta Maya and The Hickory Street Bar and Grill to co-ordinate our load-ins for Friday. The Ruta Maya has an amazing stage and sound system with a spacious Mayan meets artsy vibe.

The Austin Chronicle named "Ruta Maya" Best Coffee House in Austin and it is the leading all ages venue. The Austin Chronicle has named "Ruta Maya" Best Stage/Sound System, Best Music & Coffee, Best Coffee, Best Mixture of Stimulants & Politics, and Best Place To Hear Poetry. We met with Lori from The "Austin Daze" newspaper and we posed for a picture to be featured in "Austin Daze."

There was an amazing bluegrass band (The Toy Hearts) from Birmingham, England performing at The Ruta Maya. What I can only describe as the best country picking that I have ever heard features sisters Hannah and Sophie on mandolin and guitar with their father on upright bass. The Toy Hearts were wonderful musicians and people, and the rest of their band featured some of Austin's best hired guns!

Scott & I were too tired to make the rounds after our shows in California. We made arrangements with our Austin SXSW band mates Kirk McDow (drums) and Mark Shaw (percussionist) for Fridays SXSW schedule at The Ruta Maya (4 PM to 5 PM) on Congress, The Hickory Street Bar & Grill (8 pm to 9:30 PM) on Congress near 6th and The Enchanted Forrest (11 PM to ?), where Scott Rich, Mark Shaw and Cali singer songwriter Celia St. Croix played percussion with the many bands, fire dancers and SXSW attendees in the forest.

We were very lucky to meet percussionist Mark Shaw, who is an amazing  conga, djembe and percussion player. Mark had us stay with him and showed us around Austin's best and secret SXSW locations and events. We were also honored to have one of Austin's top studio drummers (Kirk McDow) sit in with us.

Friday March 14, 2008 (The Ruta Maya, The Hickory Street Bar & Grill & The Enchanted Forest)
We got an early start hauling and setting up equipment and picking up our band mates from the San Antonio airport, where new construction and two accidents delayed us two hours.

The Ruta Maya
We started the day at The Ruta Maya and played our first SXSW set at 4 pm. The Ruta Maya had a very receptive crowd and most of the folks that approached us after our set were visiting SXSW  musicians or local Austin friends and artists. Celia St. Croix and our regular band mates were all spot on! The stage, sound system and engineer (Kurt) were all fantastic! Lori from The Ruta Maya / Austin Daze did an amazing job of co-ordinating the show and we are thankful to have her help and friendship. We look forward to seeing and playing at The Ruta Maya and Lori's events in the future. The Ruta Maya is the coolest coffee-music venue that we've ever played.

The Hickory Street Bar & Grill
The Hickory Street Bar & Grill staff and Media Tech Sound personnel were exceptional. Michael at The Hickory Street Bar & Grill books some of the top artists in Austin and is a superb manager and music affectionado. We heard dozens of great Austin and SXSW artists and singer songwriters throughout Thursday & Friday at The Hickory.

Mac McDonnell brought his Media Tech sound crew and sound-support truck for SXSW and his staff did a seamless load-in, set-up and load out. Mac was a consummate pro and his staff really went the extra mile. Media Tech rocks on sound. The entire staff at The Hickory Bar & Grill treated us all like family!!!

Celia St. Croix highlighted her stirring set with Mr. Singh. We saved our Austin Honky Tonk tunes like "Dontcha Move" for last in our set and Scott Rich jumped off stage and started playing drums on the iron banister and roof during "Cut It Phat," which really got the crowd going. We played "Stevie Ray" right after that and had everyone jumping before finishing off with "The Girl I'm Crushing On" and "Cigarette."

Austin's Famous"The Enchanted Forest"
The most amazing event that we attended during SXSW was the "Enchanted Forest." With hundreds and hundreds of artists exhibiting sculptures, multi-media, paintings and technology pieces, hundreds more musicians, fire dancers and dance artists, The Enchanted Forest is the ultimate Bohemian experience. We'll post pictures of the amazing fire exhibits, fire dancers, Enchanted Forest Music Venue and exhibits, when we get back to California.

Austin's top "World Music Band" performed sitar, tabla, conga, bongo, guitar, bass, drums, violin, and cello music, while a cavalcade of belly dancers, fire dancers and frenzied crowd moved to the music and the dozens more drum circle participants.

Thanks to "Blackbird's Booth" for all of the FREE drinks, hospitality and the all-night drum circle under the stars.

Jimmy Way was rocking out on his trap set deep in the enchanted forest and each bend and meadow of the forest featured a different group of musicians, artists and dancers. If you visit SXSW, you should end your nights at "The Enchanted Forest!"

Saturday March 15th, 2008
We hit the convention center and Sixth Street in earnest today and then went to our favorite hangout, the original and largest "Whole Foods." At dusk we headed back to "The Enchanted Forest" for more music  and revelry.

Sunday March 16th
Before Scott rich headed back to California, we visited Austin's two most famous clubs (The Continental Club and Antones) to pay homage to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

We'd like to thank the many people that made our SXSW sets possible including very special thanks to our dear friend and host, Austin percussionist Mark Shaw, Maria West, Our Austin Drummer Kirk McDow, our SOS bandmates visiting from California (Scott Rich & Celia St. Croix) and everyone at Austin Rehearsal Studios, The wonderful folks at Gibson Guitars in Austin, Lenny Blake and all of our friends at Pro Sound, Mac McDonnell and the entire crew at Media Tech (Sound), Michael, Kat and the incredible staff at The Hickory Bar & Grill, Jerald Corder and the staff at The Austin Chronicle, Lori and the entire crew at The Ruta Maya and Austin Daze, Eva Rogers, Shannon Rogers, reviewer Paul Young, and deep appreciation and thanks to my band mates Ross Du Clair, Scott Rich and Celia St. Croix for making such a tremendous effort to travel, practice, and perform at SXSW with me here in Austin. I hope to play with my SOS bandmates in Cali some day soon

All Our Best,
Scott West

SPRINGBREAK FEATURED ARTIST RINGTONE: ROOM 413
"It's no wonder today's featured artist, Scott West, has garnered a slew of awards in the short time he's been doing his thing. Having been featured on both Maxim and Playboy Radio as the "Official Spring Break Song," his track "Room 413 Please Remember Me" is a lo-fi, bluesy number with one of the catchiest hooks you'll ever hear! If you can imagine 70's crossover folk and great 80's radio pop colliding with contemporary indie sounds, it might just sound a lot like Scott West & Sex On Sunday. Download and enjoy!"

KEEP IT CLEAN MUSIC VIDEO

We are very excited to be working with animated film producer Phillip Stucker for our new "Keep It Clean" music video. Phillip recently won the best music video at The Boise Film Festival and swept all categories. We have gotten hundreds of requests for us to do our other songs as videos, so this is our first step at meeting your requests. Please be patient, if you requested us to do another of our songs. We plan to eventually do a music video for our Springbreak Song "Room 413" and for our new single from our soon to be released CD. We will bulletin our "Keep It Clean" video and post it on Youtube, when it is done!
