MORPH: "Morph EP"
Indie 2009
Review by Alan Holloway,
8th June 2009

I don’t usually like to review unsigned band’s EP’s, because if you make a habit of it you get a stupid amount of them thrust at you and it gets hard to get round to listening to them all. To this end, I like to pick and choose this sort of thing, usually after seeing a band live, and when I witnessed the force of nature that is Morph last week I just had to pick up their new 6 track.

For a self produced effort, the CD has a good, solid sound and decent design. It looks and sounds professional, which can be a tough job sometimes. Musically, it’s solid as a rock, full of monster riffs and some great hooks, broken up by the slower, atmospheric “Stanley” in the middle. Mark Pascall’s vocals stand up very well, which is impressive as poor vocals often let down self produced discs. With a full production behind him he’s gonna sound great. All six tracks show the huge potential that this band has, although they don’t convey how amazing they are as a live act. Still, this is certainly one of the best EP’s that you will find out there at the moment and comes highly recommended.

Moprh would like to welcome you to 2009, heres whats been happening so far...
We have been in and out of Sawmills Studio over the past few weeks to record our new EP. Although the EP is unnamed so far, we can inform you that it is sounding HUGE! It contains 5 brand new tracks, and 1 revamped track.
The tracks are being mixed/mastered as we speak, so watch this space!

We have been working hard over the past few weeks on our overall sound, and image of the band. With new photos to come, and (fingers crossed) a MUSIC VIDEO to follow, things are looking good.
We had an absolutly incredible year last year, with gigs in Europe, and all over the U.K, and we would like to thank everybody who has taken part. We shall be seeing you soon!
So here it is, New songs, New videos, New pictures, and an already growing Gig list....We shall see you all soon for more Chaos - Rock - and Sleaze!!

At last things are starting to look good. 2008 is now shaping up to being a very good year for MORPH. In the next few weeks, it will start to kick off.

We will be supporting Blaze Bayley (Ex vocalist of Iron Maiden) and Voodoo Six in Exeter at the end of the month (April 30th The Hub). This is the first of two dates with this line up, as we will be playing in Plymouth at The White Rabbit a couple of weeks later. These are going to be great shows.

BMAD bike festival, we return again this year. We are very pleased to be the main support to SQY. After both being headliners last year and partying hard, it’s going to be a great night!!! We’ll teach the Dutch guys how to drink :)

We are again going to be part of the Dartmouth International Music Festival in May and The Brixham Happenin (Open Air Festival)

We are to support Deborah Bonham in Ilfracombe.

Another festival that we will be returning to is The Cambridge Rock Festival. This year we shall be sharing the main stage with the likes of Bad Company, Wishbone Ash, The Blockheads etc. Bring on the beer tokens!!!

The same weekend as CRF we are heading down to The Hard Drive Festival in Leicester, on the Sunday!! Gonna be a very rock n roll weekend!

31st July we have been invited to perform on the main open air stage at the 100th Torbay Carnival.

Keep an eye out though, as there are more dates in the pipeline, some of which are set to be some great gigs!!! Come and see us soon, we are getting around the country!!!!

See you all soon.
