Cobra Killer
www.myspace.com/cobrakiller1
Annika Trost and Gina V D’orio are two parts of the behemoth that is Cobra Killer. Starting out in Alec Empire’s Digital hardcore movement the band have gone on to record four albums. The new album Uppers & Downers features Jay Mascis, Jon Spencer and Thurston Moore and continues their assault on the psychedelic pop electronica of their contemporaries. Smooth vocals and bouncing melodies punctuate driving electronic thrusts whilst playful keys and dark hooks hold the throat.

this band are made by e-da,liam,,shige. one years ago, shige was making gameboy music on the street and basking, then liam was walking on the same street. liam was in TRENCHER. But they joined to shige’s basking and they had a good fun!! So, they curried basking every tuesday 3 oclock afternoon!! After 6 months ex-BOREDOMS,AOA drummer e-da was passing when they were basking toghther on the street and he saied, “ummm, you guys are great!! can i join u!!”. so they got togther!!! And they bought shige(DJ SCOTCH EGG) a laptop said “hey shige you can’t go father than that by just using a gameboy so use this!!”

Angie Reed
http://www.myspace.com/angiereed1
After the release of her debut album 'The Best of Barbara Brockhaus with Music for the Lazy and not the Bureaucrazy' former Stereo Total bassist Angie Reed has performed her Barbara Brockhaus Secretary Show and exhibited her art all around the World. XYZ Frequency enraged a mix of various music genres (from electrobeat to hip-flop to punk to funk and folk?) spitting out yet another concept album. This time she slips inbetween worlds of life and death and parallel universes and numerous provocative characters. If you thought her previous works of words worked your wits with cult figure Barbara B., this concoction and instrumentation will do the same to ignite toe tapping, knee slapping, wing flapping, night capping, orb zapping, ur-dapping and art crapping with bravo-bravo hand clapping!

Lots happening at the minute: check out the site for new interviews with Syl Sylvain of the New York Dolls + the brothers Smee of Chrome Hoof + Italian jazz metal noisemakers Zu and new live reviews of Spindle & Wit + You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead.

I'm tired now - all this transcribing is hurting my wanking hand.

We've got two new interview with Cindy Wilson from the B-52s and Mark Arm + Steve Turner from Mudhoney up on the site now: www.bigcityredneck.co.uk. Coming up is Don Letts, the legendary film maker and original touring DJ for The Clash. PLUS an interview with the inimitable and beautiful Health. All so wonderful... And not only that but interviews with Brute Chorus + Cibelle.

PLUS PLUS! The gigs this month are so special it hurts us to let anyone come, if only we could have them all to ourselves:

This thursday! Brute Chorus, Wet Paint, Popular Workshop and Sancho will be crashing headlong onto the stage at 93 Feet East for the second of our Big Bad Love nights there and then on the 21st of this month Cibelle + Serafina Steer will be gently looming across the intimate stage of the Buffalo Bar. It's quite a coup to get both these artists on the same bill and especially for Cibelle who's next gig is at Bush Hall! This very well may be the last time you get to see her in a venue under 500 capacity. So excited!

Of course, we'll do the regular special offers the day before both gigs so keep an eye out.

Also, keep an eye out for our Luminaire gigs which start on the 5th of September with Head On Hands + Revenge Of Shinobi + Eugene Machine. We've secured the incomparable musical prowess of Bonanza from Resonance radio to be our regular DJ with Tony Bones who has done the honours many a time for us at the Buffalo Bar. He's bearded and approachable.

August 14th rocks up at 93 Feet East with Brute Chorus / Wet Paint / Popular Workshop / Sancho and Richard from Artrocker magazine doing the DJ honours.

August 21st is a very special show at the Buffalo Bar with Cibelle / Serafina Steer and Horton Jupiter from They Came From The Stars (I Saw Them) Djing.  Cibelle's only other London date this year is at Bush Hall so this may well be the only time you get to see her in such an intimate venue.

First up, if you didn't know already we've got a great interview with David Berman of Silver Jews fame up on the site. He's so candid it hurt to talk to him. We've got interviews with Comets On Fire coming up at the end of July and the B-52s Cindy Wilson! We talked to her the other day and got on like a house on fire so there may be a possible whole band interview as well as the individual one with Cindy - it won't be going up till the 14th though to go with the run up promo for their gig at the Roundhouse. Also an interview with Mudhoney is forthcoming when they swing their way over to the UK on the 31st of July.
